I like the little detail that when they’re in BaSingSe, and Jet keeps saying they’re fire nation, no one really understands why that’s a problem, bc there is no war there… everyone’s been brainwashed or won’t say anything, so him saying they’re firebenders doesn’t even matter.
I always felt bad for Joo Dee, I know she is frustrating for the heroes but the distress in her voice and the look on her face when it all come crashing down. I can only imagine the stress and fear she was under from her "conditioning"
I mean, fighting a 12 year old kid with little to no training in fighting while you've trained for 10 years isn't a good way to measure how good you are. Azula vs everyone earlier though, that was a good fight to showcase how good she is at fighting.
@rRekko yes, it is. Aang is an airbending master, a prodigy and the fcking Avatar. We know that age and gender doesn't matter in this show. Toph is the greatest earthbender and she's 12. Let's not downplay Azula.
FunFact: There is the "theory" that Ty Lee is a descendant from the Air Nomads. Aangs folk. The reason is her knowledge about chi, her acrobatics and most importantly, her face. Every nation has a distinct look to them. Water nation ar tanned blue eyed people, fire nation are realtively pale with amber eyes and earth kingdom are medium tanned with light brown but mostly green eyes. The Air Nomads have dark brown to black eyes and a bit more of a yellowish taint skin color. In a comparison, Ty Lee's face looks very similar to Aang compared to anyone else and the aesthetics in this show aren't random, they have a meaning to be distinctive. It's very clever design to make the different nations stand out from each other and look coherent. Ty Lee is no air bender, but maybe in her family weren't just no air benders at all and therefore not present in the air temples. But her light fooded behavior definetly rivals Aangs. Also Iroh said that the Air Nomads had a legendary sense of humor. Aang, Monk Gyatsu and Ty Lee are naturally light hearted and loving souls. Ty Lee has no bad intentions but is dragged with by Azula because she's "of use".
22:08 I believe this concept you're thinking of is Manufactured Consent, a propaganda model in which the mass media select what information is available to the public, in relation to the values of those in power. Or "Orwellian" if you were looking for one word.
I know he's right, but it's kinda hilarious how Jet bursts into the tea shop and loudly accuses the waiter with a big burn scar on his face of being a Firebender. It's like some crazy guy suddenly bursting into a Starbucks to yell slurs at a barista.
Btw Aang is fast as shit as you just saw and if I'm not mistaken he's a fast as a category 3 tornado and at his top speed he can probably go faster also Tornadoes can travel up to 60-70mph so imagine a Category 3 tornado but faster that's basically Aang, not too mention he was able to create a tornado by running in circles and ran on water i forget which episodes exactly.
I always thought of BaSingSe as basically a metaphor for indoctrination kind of mimicking North Korea and communist China at times thought out ATLA and TLOK you'll see little details that point to it
I think instead of Dictatorship, the term you're looking for is Police State. Meaning: a totalitarian state controlled by a political police force that secretly supervises the citizens' activities.
Imagine having a whole army being being ran by 3 14 year old girls n they took over so the whole army dosent mess it up... the extra benders are fodder but no animation to help em seem good am I right
I always figured the Long Feng was working with the Fire Nation in secret. The deal was as long as Ba Sing Se stayed out of the war they would not be attacked. Of course, the drill attack openly violated any such agreement. But, even that attack is kept secret.

We missed that completely! Nice call
Sokka trying to become the avatar of ladies. One from each nation.
The voice actor for long feng voices Mr Krabs
Clancy Brown, also played The Kurgan in the movie "Highlander". He has also voiced many, many iconic characters for decades now.
This show even discusses indoctrination. Once again bringing the question "Are we SURE this is a Nickelodeon show?"
20:52 "Oh I won't get in the way!" while she gets immediately in the way of Toph. 🤣
There’s no War in Ba sing Se the real adventure stars here.
I always felt bad for Joo Dee, I know she is frustrating for the heroes but the distress in her voice and the look on her face when it all come crashing down. I can only imagine the stress and fear she was under from her "conditioning"
Sokka is just a rizz bender
It's always bothered me less that Ju Di was blocking them at every turn than the fact that the pet shop owner apparently knew about the black market.
Azula is HER

Aang's explosive run down to the wall is one of my favorite moments in the entire show!
Bosco just chowing down is the sight of the happiest bear in existence.
there is no war in Ba Sing Se!!
🏮...... There is no war in Ba Sing Se ...🏮... there's only the like, subscribe and notification buttons. ......🏮

Another fun fact: Ba Sing Se is heavily inspired by imperial Bejing but... that's quite on the nose I guess XD
It's Ty Lee. You had me confused there for a moment
@@victornunes900 corrected it.

Favourite episode thus far

this is soo cool
Is “Police State” the words you are looking for?
ba sing se has a 'big brother' government thing going on. that could be the term that you are looking for
I think "censorship" is the word you're looking for
Yes. I think mass indoctrination works here aswell.
I suggest "totalitarianism" in this case.
"Communism" also works because historically all of the former communist countries implemented this type of censorship and indoctrination.
32:04 so is Zuko 😂😂 and when I first watched this as a kid I hated Zuko until like the third season tbh
12:53 I always forget he should be able to firebend by now 💀

Glad to see you back even with all the haters last week :) I got you though, I will defend your honor!
Jujutsu kaisen next

Stop trying to make Team Avatar happen, it’s never going to happen…. Nice catch on that one Prez ;)
I know you mentioned attack on Titan but did you guys react to it?
It was one of the few anime Cara watched before we started the channel
