I would like to commend you for doing a good job on your review of the 2024 Buick Envista. We just purchased a dark silver Buick Envista ST February of this year and I really enjoy driving it. Two major disappointments with this car is that it does not come with a navigation system and a CD player. I was told that I can use my Apple Car Play for directions. The problem is that my phone has a limited plan. With regards to the CD player, I was told that I can put my music on a thumb drive. So, I tried the USB port underneath the front dashboard, and I could not get the Envista to play the music on my thumb drive. I went back to the dealership where we bought the car, and they couldn't figure it out either. One of the mechanics had several thumb drives and they would not play. I found nothing in the manual either. So, I watched several videos on RUclips, and I noticed that the person driving the car would press the round lighted button directly to the left of the radio display and it would expand your audio inputs. If you are listening to FM, look to the left of your station display and you will see several small circles within a circle with an up arrow. Press that. When that expanded screen came on and I put in my thumb drive, the USB symbol would then light up and the thumb drive would play. This was not specifically discussed in any of the Envista videos that I watched. It might be something that you may want to mention. Otherwise, good job!
Thank you for the compliment and thanks for the information. We can't add it to the video now of how you got your USB to play but thanks to your efforts and comment, it's now posted along with our video so other viewers will be able to see your contribution as well, and learn how to operate their infotainment screens too. Cheers!
CD players haven't been put in cars for many many years now... With unlimited phone plans most people just use Spotify or Google Play music or RUclips music to play their music
You can access those features under settings and then audio settings. So they are on the screen just not available directly in android auto or Pandora that I’m aware of. Thanks for watching!
The 2024 Envista is not available in AWD, and there are no selectable drive modes. For ice or snow conditions you can use the +\-on the gear lever to select 2nd gear instead of first gear when starting from a stopped position. It is a FWD vehicle only. Thanks for watching!
I would check under Settings, then click on Vehicle at the top of the screen and then look for anything that has to do with either camera, sensors or sounds or RCT (rear cross traffic). There may be an adjustment you can make in one of those to get the sound back on. Thanks for watching!
Good question. One suggestion would be to Google Buick Avenir plus the name brand of the stereo system. Once in a while companies like Bose will list out these items. Thanks for watching!
I'm trying to figure out why the light on my - for the cruise control doesn't go out when I cancel cruise control. It stays on the screen with the last speed that I set it for
Thanks for the question. The light will stay on if you only cancel the cruise control, that’s so it is instantly ready to reset the cruise control. If you want the light to go off, then you will need to turn off cruise control by using the far left button on the left hand side of the steering wheel. So basically canceling cruise, and turning off cruise are two different things. If you choose to turn it off, then before you can set the cruise control you will need to turn the cruise control back on first by using the button just to the right of the thumb wheel button (again on the far left side of the steering wheel). Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
@TwoGuysandaRide Thank you so much. I will have to take a look at it in the morning to see if I can do what you state. I really appreciate it. I also subbed to your channel. Great content😊
If you’ve connected and you were using Apple CarPlay, then you can ask the system to read your new text and you can also respond when it prompt you if you want to respond or not by simply speaking what you would like the text to say
@@pillsie it should work the same way for android users. But before you start the car , on your phone, turn on Google Assistant driving mode. Then say “hey Google turn on auto read”. Alternatively when you get a text you can tap on the notification that appears on your screen and it will read you the text.
@TwoGuysandaRide This car is brand new and has more features than my old car. With my old car. I couldn't respond to or send texts, but I could make and answer calls. So it's a lot that I'm not familiar with. When I tried texting the other day, I don't think Android Auto was turned on.
Sure you can... Bring up Sirius XM... And then on the left side of the steering wheel behind the steering wheel there is two buttons one to go up on the channel one to go down on the channel
It is interesting, but they figure people will just use apple CarPlay or android auto and then use the navigation apps on their phones, so they’ll have navigation, just not the built in variety. Thanks for watching!
The problem with built-in navigation systems as you have to update the maps constantly... Which cost money... With Android Auto or Apple CarPlay the maps are automatically updated doesn't cost you a dime
Press and hold the scroll wheel. That’s how you change the cluster to show a tachometer.
Thanks for sharing and for watching!
Thanks for showing this I was wondering how everything works
You’re welcome
Im here for the same

Make audio changes on android auto and pandora... Bass and treble controls are not on screen?

How do I turn on awd or the driving mode for bad weather

Why don't I hear the sensor beep when I get close to things backing up?

If you use Android Auto the background picture will be the same as what's on your phone

How does texting work?

@@TwoGuysandaRide I have Android.
Same principal works the same way, but with android auto instead

I fear what it will cost to have these screens replaced should they fail outside warranty. I'm seeing prices well over $1,000 just for parts.
We agree. Costly
Unfortunatley, you cannot change the Satellite radio channel from the steering wheel.
There are two buttons behind the left side of the steering wheel that will allow you to change channels on the radio a sat radio. Thanks for watching

I can't believe that doesn't have a GPS system in the car ... unbelievable

Check out the price of the car. I have 2 other cars with nav, and I use google maps anyways.
I love the built-in navigation system in my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport ❤️, but, I am picking up a 2024 Envista tomorrow.
