We did something very similar in southern Arizona. My brother and brother-in-law and nephew along with three other riders did a three day ride. Prior to starting out we had a couple of months to determine the route. We wanted to make. At the halfway point, we dug a hole and had a supply of fuel water and libations. When we uncovered the supplies, we noted that the gas had permeated the plastic water jugs. The water jug smelled like gas. That was a little rough; we camped that night. Along the way, we had one of our riders get a flat tire. So my buddy and I rode into Tucson and got it fixed. We attached it to my backpack which was really something. The next night we ended up in tombstone Arizona, where we spent the night. Then off to the area of Patagonia, Arizona. it was a terrific ride one that I will never forget
Hey Dork, Just a little tip when tying back your tent entrance flaps. Roll them inwards, that way if it rains the underside stays dry so no wet on the inside mate. Cheers Jim
I no idea this trail even existed 🤷🏻♂️ and I've lived in Oregon and Washington my whole life. . Such beautiful country I hope I get better soon to take some of it.
Really appreciate your honest approach to the videos and showing all the highs and the lows. You stopping during that one point in the jungle to just get out of your head is excellent and much appreciated! Also like to compliment you on the information you give nothing you ever say comes off as ignorant or over confident, just an honest and passionate rider. Really enjoy your videos and reviews!
I feel like this is one of those Cheech and Chong movies when the officer asks, do you know how fast you’re going? The guys in the car say I don’t know maybe come up 60? The officer replies know you were going 10 mph.
Watch all of this thoroughly entertaining, well done guys, hope everyone is OK after the mishaps. Very jealous of what you've achieved trip looked absolutely awesome. And Tim can definitely ride. Looking forward to your next epic trip .
They're great. Makes me want to switch from my GSA. The one I rode wasn't fully broke in so I had to take it easy on her but my first impressions were outstanding. Made me lead into corners with a foot forward to meet them without having the heads sticking out there.
Mate I love your videos. Like alot of people I work long hours and look forward to the occasional ride every few weekends or so. Seeing someone doing what I'd love to be doing full time gives me some peace and clears my mind. I appreciate your video's and look forward to the camping trip vids. Keep it up mate! From the Land Downunder 😉
Pretty soon you'll always want it a little difficult..... and your little difficult will get a little more difficult. You were already getting bored with the gravel roads. For example CDT trail would be a little tame for you now. And your totally ready for the Idaho BDR. Thanks for taking the time to do the video. I find it hard some days to even take a picture.
I lived in Rapid City SD for a few years and Belle Fourche SD for a few. Didnt have a mc at the time so never made it to Sturgis though. Loved driving in the Black Hills. Totally get the whole riding in the heat. I once rode my mc from dc to virginia beach down the delmarva penninsula for July 4th camping and it was so hot, i probably didnt drink enough water. My phone over heated and wouldnt chargd just as i was rolling into town where i would need to use it to find the site. But I turned it off to let it cool down and guessed my way til i was close and turned it on with just 2% juice. I was sooo glad to arrive at my friends site where he had a tent set up with ac. I know you probably needed to reserve your hotel ahead of time for the rally but i've lost so many paid hotel nights in my travels due to last minute changed plans of just not getting there before the end of the day that I don't pre reserve hotels anymore. I'll typically use my hotels app to find a local hotel from the last rest stop of the day. That has worked out much better for me. (No more lost hotel deposits) Be careful though if you are targeting little towns like newcastle with fewer than 3 local hotels on peak rally or holiday nights (having worked at a hotel in spearfish, i can tell you, hotels are typically booked a year ahead even with their rates doubled or even tripled for peak nights).
I’m binge watching all your BDR and Mexico videos today trying to rekindle my interest in riding after being stuck on the sidelines (not being able to ride since May) due to a busted wrist. DARN KTM!
31:21 last October I rode the section North of Chelan all the way to the Gold Creek Road and then came back. As soon as i rounded that corner, I knew that was the place where the crash happened. That rut is hidden from view if it’s in the shade from the tree. It also sneaks up on you as you come around that corner.
Very awesome scenery, Glad you finished it safely. Prayers out to the other guys that werent able to finish it with you but HUGE respect for completing the WBDR in honor of your friends. Stay safe out there on the bike. I am in the process of purchasing a '22 HD Pan America 1250 from Sacramento Harley here in Northern Calif. Well done dork.
I’m sorry but y’all are the perfect example of 75% of the dudes you meet on the bdr. Just chillin, riding safe, meanwhile Tim’s out there bouncing off the limiter. Fucking love it. If only you met the rando on a scoot/yz85
The views look really cool. I own a Honda Fit, which is a very small car. A couple years ago, I drove up Pikes Peak and Mount Evans in Colorado. That was kind of nerve wracking in a car and I saw a lot of motorcycles there. Basically no guard rails and lots of hairpin turns and while both roads are paved, the summits are over 14,000 feet.
I’m a local, and that’s actually one of my favorite camping spots on the lower Kern… you absolutely have no reason to enter the river right there lmao way to dramatize it though! For those of you wondering, he can drive around the north side of those trees. If I get enough responses to this comment I’ll drive the 30 minutes from my house and go record the area around there to show you…
What a wonderful world our God gave us. I really enjoyed those scenes absolutely breath taking. My thoughts and prayer with Mike. Hopefully he has recovered quickly. Great video im a subscriber and im looking forward to more footage. Primo
Thanks for putting it all together. 2hrs plus. Saturday night WAbdr movie. This winter when it's cold an snowing. I can watch an dream of bdr's to come.
found your channel through @Explore Adventure Moto, this came into my feed and I sat and watched it last night like a movie lol really enjoyed it! subbed...Sláinte!
Hello, new subscriber, this was my intro to you and your buds. It was an awesome vicarious thrill. Looking forward to digging thru thentreasure trove of other vids. Cheers and congrats on sticking it out and finishing despite the bad portents early on. Catch you on the next vid.
Nice video! Keep an eye on that AS mini fairing. I have been through 2 of them and both eventually cracked the metal around where the tower mounts to the fork. Both times it was the throttle side. Hopefully you experience better durability with your mini fairing. My theory is the metal cracks from vibration and at least one additional brace is needs to be engineered into the design. Rally Raid has endorsed the One Adventure Rally Tower, which may have the strength the AS mini fairing is missing. I switched to the Adventure Men Cave tower and have been happy with it. I love your DMD2 setup.
Kudos on the trip and the vid! I hope everything turned out alright for Mike and for your friend Travis' wife. As I watched through the first hour I began to wonder how riding the Husky on this trip would compare to some of the smaller bikes. You mentioned it briefly at the 1:15:45 mark. It would be interesting to me, and perhaps to others, to hear you opine in retrospect on video about how your experience would have differed if you were on the DRZ 400, KLR 650, Tenere 700, or some other bike you have experienced.
Great video guys! I almost felt like I was riding along with you. The views were spectacular but (some of) the roads/trails were RUTTY, RUTTY, RUTTY! Very sketchy indeed! You definitely need the skills and the experience to ride the WABDR. Hope Mike is OK and y'all get together soon for another ADV bike adventure!
Thanks for the vid! I’ve watched all of the 901 ones, I know this one is a while old now, but I’m looking at a 901, and I’m at about the same skill level as you on that video, and I’d be going the same terrain but in Australia, so was great to to see in full action and the trials, tribulations and strengths of that bike..
Great video and awesome ride!! I'd love to do it myself, but not on some big heavy adventure bike! All that weight and bulk is big disadvantage! - In handling and crashes! I've done lots trails like that on Nible MT bikes and light dirt bikes with out any problems or broken bones! Can't imagine throwing around a big bike on that stuff! Thats why they make dirt bikes as light as possible! Hope your friend makes a full recovery. Best, Michael M.
God that was amazing. I'd love to do a ride like that. I backpack camp on my 86 xl250r all the time, but broke my leg year n a half ago. I actually found your vids researching the Drz400, as I can't kickstart my 250 anymore... maybe in a yr or 2. I would be totally capable of such a trip, except my fear of hieghts.. 🤣 Last time we drove much better condition roads in the mountains, i froze up, and the ol lady had to take over driving... lol Great vid, loved it! Been watchin a few of your rides n guides etc.
Excellent video and review. New subscriber here Emily! Awesome awesome awesome feedback on the bikes that goes more than skin-deep. It's obvious that you know what being a motorcyclist is all about... passion and following your heart! I eagerly await your next video & props to your post production team! BTW, if you could squeeze in a review of the previous gen KTM 1290SAR and the latest +'22, that would be very radd! Not to nitpick, but @ 4:25, please engage your knees/legs before engaging your back/spine. you should extend the squat (straighten the knees) before you hinge @ the hip. This may save you some pain down the road. Keep up the great work!
What has killed so many trees? Also remember that jungle section would be done downhill normally. Sometimes it may be better to run these trails the way they were designed.
How did you like riding the norden over this route? Great views and good to hear the joy in your voice when encountering small jumps woo-hoo. First week of watching your channel, thanks for making the videos Bear bear bear Jungleley Those are baby baby heads That majestic feature is Tim I may never leave Well this is gorgeous, Mt Adams everyone You know it’s a hardcore road when you pass a Prius
Your videos are impressive; your journeys are captivating! 🌍 Could you share some insights on combating fatigue during those extensive rides and keeping yourself in good health? Exciting topic!
Thanks for putting it all in one, I did see the other videos. Love the content, Did you add the link for the T shirt when you said" Confidence inspiring"? A Canadian watcher.
Hi Dork, What bike were Tim and Travis riding? It is good info to know. Thanks, extremely beautiful watching this whole video. It was beautiful and never lets down. Thanks.
Great looking ride. "A deep hole of softness" and then "It lies to you" is this a personal encounter you're referring to, or are we talking about the track ? You guys have great mountain ride, I'm jealous. Are you on a 950 ? That motor has a great sound. LC8 ?
I’d love to do this, but the other way, enter Canada and across to Alaska. And back to Canada, across to the east coast and down to New York. This, or something like it is on my bucket list. Question is cost, ship my bike to the US from Australia or buy one there.
this was pretty awesome great video, im in CO on a himalayan ride the "technical" rocky cliff side stuff all the time it def makes your butthole pucker sometimes. do you or can you make a video of your gear and the essentials for moto camping? would be nice to see what gear works best as far as light weight, space in luggage, and the must have items are. thx for sharing your journey!
only caught one fish in my life when i was twelve and a hecking seagull stole it because i set it down on the dock. That seagull… one day we gonna have words… ha
Loved this extended edition, I’m from BC Canada so the WABDR looks like an attractive option. I enjoyed your narration but curious to know how you get your voice so nicely isolated from the surrounding wind and road noise?
Hey Dork, I’m a big fan of yours, I’ve watched most of your content and I’m over here in eastern Washington so not toooo far from you! I’m trying to start a motorcycle adventure channel not that dissimilar from yours, what sort of advice would you offer me? What would you do if you had to start over? Thanks in advance if you decide to graciously answer any of my questions 😂
I don't like the gold wing. I can't get on board with the whole automatic thing. If you want to ride motorcycles then learn how to ride them. That includes using a clutch and shifting, for the full experience. Your review was excellent, just not my thing. I will still give you the thumbs up!
Cool video I love the dry side of Washington state the high country extra awesome 👍🏼. Were you guys riding thru logged out country or forest fire areas? Hard to know which is which if there was a difference.
Close to swapping out my current ride but would be keen to know how honest the transalp is? That is how accurate is the speedo, both my Africa and T7 were almost 10% out where as my F800GS was within a couple of % thanks for any feedback

How true your words would be at the end of day 1... "As always, Tim is here"
What a ride, man. Those views were unreal. Thanks for taking us along!
Watch all of this thoroughly entertaining, well done guys, hope everyone is OK after the mishaps. Very jealous of what you've achieved trip looked absolutely awesome. And Tim can definitely ride. Looking forward to your next epic trip .
Truly epic ride brother 👊 glad you put it all together I'm keeping the faith I'll be doing it next summer
That camp view over Rock Rim Lake at 1:37:30 ... bet that beer or canned water tested awesome. Thanks for this long vid! Happy Trails guys!

Dork, this is the best BDR ride on RUclips, clad you made it and keep em coming
This is my dream vacation! I'm absolutely going to do this someday!
I really enjoyed your trip, from the cold Canadian weather your warm desert scenery did warmed my chilly living room.

Fantastic, most well covered YT vid of the Washington BDR i have seen to date was well worth the 2 hour frame time :)
This makes living on the east coast suck even more. So much incredible riding over there
Great journey. Thanks for sharing.
And congrats on the new homestead!

Loved the video…!!! Very well written
Thanks for the ride!
Great, detailed video. Thank you.
No words can describe this video, but I’m going to pick one (AWESOME) Thank you
I cant wait to see it all come together for one weekend. We're over due for some good luck. You're the man AJ. Love the academy.
Thanks Dork for the great video. Did IDBDR this summer and am planning WABDR for summer 2023, this video helps a lot.
Thanks for watching!
I was a Law Enforcement officer on the Colville Reservation in Washington state I miss some of the places I rode my XR650L in back then
Her vids are mesmerising! I’m really sucked in. Geweldig! ❤
Great Video. I really enjoyed it!
I really enjoyed that. Thank you.
Keep on with those great friendships... 😊
I’m sorry but y’all are the perfect example of 75% of the dudes you meet on the bdr. Just chillin, riding safe, meanwhile Tim’s out there bouncing off the limiter. Fucking love it. If only you met the rando on a scoot/yz85
Bethel ridge camp site was awesome!!
thank you for showing this to us it was amazing ride

Fantastic place,fantastic ride,fantastic people.
I just realized that's Timmers! That's so crazy seeing you on this video man 🙂 I didn't connect the dots until section 2 lol
Another great video 👍🏻
Great vid !
I’m a local, and that’s actually one of my favorite camping spots on the lower Kern… you absolutely have no reason to enter the river right there lmao way to dramatize it though!
For those of you wondering, he can drive around the north side of those trees. If I get enough responses to this comment I’ll drive the 30 minutes from my house and go record the area around there to show you…
The RHPS reference made me laugh. Thank you. Great video.
Finally someone gets it!
What a wonderful world our God gave us. I really enjoyed those scenes absolutely breath taking. My thoughts and prayer with Mike. Hopefully he has recovered quickly. Great video im a subscriber and im looking forward to more footage.
Primo
Epic! I gotta head further west.
Complete JOY… cheers
Thanks for putting it all together. 2hrs plus. Saturday night WAbdr movie. This winter when it's cold an snowing. I can watch an dream of bdr's to come.
Still watching but really enjoyable so far. Hope your mate is back up and running now.
Nice ride!
Amazing video.
found your channel through @Explore Adventure Moto, this came into my feed and I sat and watched it last night like a movie lol really enjoyed it! subbed...Sláinte!
Hello, new subscriber, this was my intro to you and your buds. It was an awesome vicarious thrill. Looking forward to digging thru thentreasure trove of other vids. Cheers and congrats on sticking it out and finishing despite the bad portents early on. Catch you on the next vid.
Looks fun. Interesting cloud formation in the broken leg section of video
We enjoyed this video. Like a movie.
You could introduce all the bikes in the beginning of video. Hi Tim, what you are riding this BDR. Bare minimum your own bike
The "holy crap that's a lot of stuff" guy looked like my load out for my first run on a BDR
Last time we drove much better condition roads in the mountains, i froze up, and the ol lady had to take over driving... lol
Great vid, loved it! Been watchin a few of your rides n guides etc.
I wish I could teach you Keto camping food. Just bought a KLR this last year, new rider awesome keto cook.

You know it’s a hardcore road when you pass a Prius
Excellent review and thanks for the truck v idiot defence. 👍
I'll be attending the Dakota 600 in the Black Hills that same week.
Oops video switched on me 😂
Thanks!
You should do a video on the hand signals. Idk how you knew that dude had another behind him. I don't ride with others haha.
Nice!!
BEST VIDEO
Enjoying from nepal 🙏✌️😍

Hi Dork, What bike were Tim and Travis riding? It is good info to know. Thanks, extremely beautiful watching this whole video. It was beautiful and never lets down. Thanks.
I don't see the answer, what bike was Tim riding?
Great looking ride. "A deep hole of softness" and then "It lies to you" is this a personal encounter you're referring to, or are we talking about the track ? You guys have great mountain ride, I'm jealous.

This, or something like it is on my bucket list. Question is cost, ship my bike to the US from Australia or buy one there.
Awesome ride. Seems like a 900 is a lot of bike for that.
Could you do all of this in the Africa twin?

In bear country best to pack a portable electric bear fence. A compact 2.4 Ibs for huge peace of mind.
Would have liked to have known what happened to Mike’s bike. Was it left there on the side of the road? What is normally done to get it home?
only caught one fish in my life when i was twelve and a hecking seagull stole it because i set it down on the dock. That seagull… one day we gonna have words… ha
Härligt att komma ut. Lurar också på att fixa en motovlog mic till goproen. Några bra tips?

I don't like the gold wing. I can't get on board with the whole automatic thing. If you want to ride motorcycles then learn how to ride them. That includes using a clutch and shifting, for the full experience. Your review was excellent, just not my thing. I will still give you the thumbs up!
Nice video, what type of luggage was mike using when he crashed? Thx
Cool video I love the dry side of Washington state the high country extra awesome 👍🏼. Were you guys riding thru logged out country or forest fire areas? Hard to know which is which if there was a difference.
Bethel Ridge was all post-fire salvage logging, so both ;)
Close to swapping out my current ride but would be keen to know how honest the transalp is? That is how accurate is the speedo, both my Africa and T7 were almost 10% out where as my F800GS was within a couple of % thanks for any feedback
