Just found this after other Ghost Busters stuff, absolutely fantastic coverage of this event, I loved it. I viewed the original film at the cinema, (by de-fault in 1984). A year ago, I couldn't resist purchasing a Lego ECTO 1 to make, I've bought a lighting kit for it too!
It was genuinely a dream come true. Been waiting my whole life to finally see the 59' at the Firehouse. I grew up in Queens born in 2000 so post movies and cartoons, so it was very much just Dan Akroyd and his never ending promises of a 3rd movie when I fell in love with everything. Everyone from the wedding, the 1:1 cars, the fan cars and fans it was amazing. (Ps I'll have to pose this here, I have what I believe to be an original patch that was given to the Firefighters as a thank you for the warm welcome while filming. Ive been told by my mom who dated one of them in the 90s and he wasn't a huge fan so he gave it to my mom and now I have it. I had it with me and checked it next to every patch the firehouse had, I Google reverse image searched it and not one copy in existence from what I can find. So if anyone can confirm this I'd be over the moon. Edit: 😢 Dear Jason and Ashley, any chance you have an extra challenge coin. I must have been busy blocking the RC with the rings when they were bringing them back 😅 id love to send you guys a gift in return if possible Oh on there's my dumb face 32:00 right behind the rear blue lights with my arm up in the white gb shirt

There is no doubt whatsoever that if the two previous Ghostbusters movies did not come out you wouldn’t have this kind of big event outside the fire house in New York there’s no way.

Hook & Ladder 8 actually do have their own version of the no ghost logo on their truck/ FDNY shirts. They also have the ECTO-1 license plate on the back of the truck.

Let’s be honest these are the same people Columbia pictures would have hire to build the Ecto-1, 2…. Now they just rent them from them for filming.
