If you go to a pokemon's stats screen then click whatever you have A set as, there's an option to check evolution method

I think you should swap Arbok’s fire fang for thunder fang. Ice and electric gives you amazing coverage (hence boltbeam).

Elite Redux actually does allow you to dex nav Pokemon while the infinite repel is active, so its definitely possible!

Have to remember elite redux is a rom hack while this is a fan game, using 2 completely separate systems, so just because something is possible with one doesn't mean the same can be said for the other

Somebody already stated it but if you go to summary of a pokemon you can check how they evolve with your A-key. The early game is much easier than mid/late game intentionally. And the game is definitely designed for you to just go to level cap as often as you can. Not aware if it's possible to maks it to where they just scale with you. Also in Illex Forest when pairing with Kris you have to leave and re-enter to get her tesm to scale, little silly, but yeah.
