One of the best movies and so much reality behind the irony. I miss those times before the whole thing ended in war and tragedy. Democracy itself is much more restrictive and "choking" than what we had in Yugoslavia and it's all about buying and selling, no real life envolved. No fun at all. I miss what we had in Yugoslavia and I would change at once those little political freedom they say we didn't have for all the other freedoms we had and we don't have anymore. Greetings from Slovenia.
LYRICS IN ENGLISH Who Leads every revolution? Who gives us our daily bread? Who can be pope, king or sultan And presides over living and dead It's a man, an intellectual, He is the cornerstone of progress A gentleman, a professional, His biography is marvelous He can change mud into gold, Turn a stone into a flower To create is in his power Honey, It's a man's world. (Jadranka starts) You can build an arc to save humanity, You can raise your little finger To part the waves of the sea You can build the peace Or the Great Wall of China, You can read our dreams, Books and beliefs. You can make war Transact a NATO pact You can write history, Constitutions and poetry. But you do all of this Just because of me To conquer a women's heart Is the hardest victory. (Chorus) It's a man, an individual pure, For every illness, he finds the cure He built railroads and great roads, Honey, It's a man's world (Jadranka) Without me, You're an unfinished rhyme Without me, You're a sad linden in a desert clime Cities you can build, Or take apart, You can split the atom, But not my heart.
Vrlo dobar film, jedan iz nalboljih što uznam.Ovo možno uvidet libo raz i svaki put njego čovek volit bude.Ja njego video još 6 puta celi a njegove fragmente nespočetno više raz. Muzika takže fantastička,kao u svih filmova Kusturici.Pozdrav iz Češke
I miss it too. I miss my childhood. I miss remembering. I miss when we didnt all have to be blonde. I love emir because he plays even his life and once he will die i will read his texts and feel that i was right for never hating him. he shows it so well. the irony. they told us we were turks but these guys wanted to be german ma parole. I love it. I always was scared to watch it but i know i can watch it now and laugh laugh laugh.
@hybaj thanks for the compliment. Maybe it was hell in the countries controlled by Soviet Union but I think we had it quite nice in Yugoslavia. Only a few gained something from democracy and capitalism, most people didn't. But of course the economy we had was a disaster and it couldn't last forever...
@hybaj well my friend, if human mind is not compatible with corporatism then we all have to find a different planet since corporatism was and is (mis)used by so many political systems and by most religions (Christianity included). And guess what, I think it can work pretty well - just go check how they use it in Sweden for example... And start reading the Bible...
@hybaj really? I suggest you check again. You were talking about corporatism and I just told you that you can find corporatism in most religions and in many political systems - Sweden has one of it where corporatism is very well incorporated. And by the way, your view of democracy is very odd - only those sharing your view have the right to be a part of the system while a communist should leave the planet. And you call that a human nature. It's very human I must say.

LYRICS IN ENGLISH
Who Leads every revolution?
Who gives us our daily bread?
Who can be pope, king or sultan
And presides over living and dead
It's a man, an intellectual,
He is the cornerstone of progress
A gentleman, a professional,
His biography is marvelous
He can change mud into gold,
Turn a stone into a flower
To create is in his power
Honey, It's a man's world.
(Jadranka starts)
You can build an arc
to save humanity,
You can raise your little finger
To part the waves of the sea
You can build the peace
Or the Great Wall of China,
You can read our dreams,
Books and beliefs.
You can make war
Transact a NATO pact
You can write history,
Constitutions and poetry.
But you do all of this
Just because of me
To conquer a women's heart
Is the hardest victory.
(Chorus)
It's a man, an individual pure,
For every illness, he finds the cure
He built railroads and great roads,
Honey, It's a man's world
(Jadranka)
Without me,
You're an unfinished rhyme
Without me,
You're a sad linden in a desert clime
Cities you can build,
Or take apart,
You can split the atom,
But not my heart.
