Hey all! Now that I've kind of rebranded and resurrected my RUclips and Twitch, I'm trying to grow my Discord server, so if you want a place for memes and chill shenanigans, join the Ghost Shop: discord.gg/jMMpyK9yZG
LAYTON: Some more ground rules for you, Luke. In addition to Emmy, we will not mention Descole, Bronev, Aurora, Randall, Angela, Henry, Janice, Arianna, Aldus or Inspector Grosky. LUKE: What about my parents? LAYTON: We can’t mention them by name. LUKE: Why must we ignore our past, Professor? LAYTON: .....Solve the puzzle, Luke.
yeah I get like, he's not TECHNICALLY PROFESSIONALLY a detective, but still! Though him drawing that distinction was clearly characterization even in the first game.
“I have stared death in the face, don’t patronise me Hershel” This had me laughing way more than I expected it to, thank you for this masterpiece of a video
Two things in this video made me laugh so hard they turned into actual coughs: 1: "NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN" And at the end of the video; 2: "By the way, are we talking about Emmy yet?" "No."
I kinda like how, despite having gone through multiple cases of severe tragic backstory, uncovering the secrets of super civilization A and literally DYING AND COMING BACK TO LIFE, Layton can still enjoy the little mysteries and curiosities that "everyday life" presents. Like a village full of machine people (side note, maybe he was right when he said they could discover azran tech themselves). A true gentleman can enjoy an intriguing situation, no matter how grandiose or not it may be. Clearly Luke still has a lot to learn.
Okay, this made me crack up super hard XD "I have stared death in the face, don't patronize me Hershel" "By the way, are we talking about Emmy yet?" "No" Hilarious
Spoilers for unwound future This explains why Luke was so chill when Claire travel back in time. Because he already seen deaths too many times and he’s like eight years old.
In an age where the Layton series could very well be dead seeing as Level-5 shut down their NA offices, this is the best Layton content I’ve seen in a *LONG* time!
Thanks man, it was about a year ago now that I finished playing the series for the first time and I was just like "No I refuse to believe that the fandom is dead"
Yeah honestly I've thought that too. Pretty much whenever they weren't talking about something as obvious as Luke's backstory, I actually forgot they weren't sequels
I've just started Azran Legacy in my like 5th full playthrough of the games, and honestly the amount of times I was like "Luke, you'd just saved the world from ancient death robots trying to destroy the world" in the cutscene at the beginning of curious village was too many 😂
It's funny: I've played all the prequels but barely remember anything about them, so most of these references just fly over my head. The "so did we" part in particular made me tilt my head. The stories of the original trilogy I still remember well, even though it's been even longer since I've played those. Just goes to show you how much stronger the writing was in the older ones.
Honestly im happy with azren legacy trilogy end up being a prequal plus it was an awesome plot twist especially how iconic curious Village was, that was hilarious calling out Layton's BS 😂
I played Unwound future and then Azran legacy and during Azran legacy I was like hmm wheres flora and then at the end it was like REINHOLD? THIS IS A PREQUEL? Oops xD

Damn, Luke regained his Last Spectre personality 😂
"Two months ago, Baron Augustus Reinhold passed away."
"So did we."
Brilliant.
Dude senpai noticed me
Also, are we talking about Emmy yet?
@@reubenmanzo2054 no

Layton: "Solve the puzzle or you get the hose again"
Also Layton in CV: “I’m not really much of a detective…”
yeah I get like, he's not TECHNICALLY PROFESSIONALLY a detective, but still! Though him drawing that distinction was clearly characterization even in the first game.
- oh no more antique robots ?
- mm our first step is getting to town
Not Layton avoiding the question as robots will INDEED be a part of that mystery
At least these are nice robots for a change tho
At least these ones aren’t antiques either, they’re new and constantly breaking down (they don’t build them like they used to!)
“By the way are we talking about Emmy yet?”
“ *NO* “
"Is that like how you get over stuff like this? Because my mom says I need to keep seeing the therapist."
The Baron Passed away-
"So did we!"
Lmao I died😂
So did they
“I have stared death in the face, don’t patronise me Hershel”
This had me laughing way more than I expected it to, thank you for this masterpiece of a video

"By the way, are we talking about Emmy yet-"
"NO"
XD
Damn, I join people amazed by "So did we" joke.

Spoilers for unwound future
This explains why Luke was so chill when Claire travel back in time. Because he already seen deaths too many times and he’s like eight years old.
Meanwhile Layton is just thoroughly broken by life
"By the way, are we talking about Emmy yet?"
"nO,"

I kind of hope this is just a temporary move with the offices bc of the pandemic instead of Level 5 going down completely.
A new Layton game on the Switch was announced yesterday
Hey uh… *about that*
I'm glad this aged horribly
Haha, I always did feel like the prequels would have worked better as sequels with each new game getting more dramatic.
Yeah honestly I've thought that too. Pretty much whenever they weren't talking about something as obvious as Luke's backstory, I actually forgot they weren't sequels
"DON'T PATRONIZE ME HERSHEL!" XD
I really like the idea of Luke just being done with everyone's shit and being really passive aggressive all the time for some reason.
*Not this sh!t again!*
"Luke, a gentleman always asks for permission before using any cuss words. Just solve the damn puzzle, please."
"Oh no! More ancient robots?"
...Well...
I see Luke is back to being his angst self that he was back in last specter 😂
I've just started Azran Legacy in my like 5th full playthrough of the games, and honestly the amount of times I was like "Luke, you'd just saved the world from ancient death robots trying to destroy the world" in the cutscene at the beginning of curious village was too many 😂
We don't talk about Emmy, no no no.
SO DID WE
NOT THE "SO DID WE"
It's funny: I've played all the prequels but barely remember anything about them, so most of these references just fly over my head. The "so did we" part in particular made me tilt my head.

Lol I feel that but it says a lot about Azran Legacy that the scene where the ENTIRE MAIN CAST DIED was forgettable 😂😂😂
“Not this sh!t again!”
X’DD
"So did we" omg
bruh this masterpiece of a video has shown me that my whole life ive been mispronuncing reinhold 😭
Here comes Inspector Chelmey to arrest you
How did you pronounce it?
"NOT THAT SHIT AGAIN" 😂
I didn’t play the prequels yet… so all of this is out of context.
But damn, it sounds absolutely hilarious and ridiculous.
Ancient robots? No Luke... they aren't "ancient"
I mean I like the prequels on their own, but timelinewise its a bunch of doo doo and this is a briliant edit. It cracked me up so hard 🤣
Are we talking about emmy yet?
No.
I was not prepared for that "So did we!" Bro 😭
1:41 right on the spot, Luke!
Honestly im happy with azren legacy trilogy end up being a prequal plus it was an awesome plot twist especially how iconic curious Village was, that was hilarious calling out Layton's BS 😂
I only understand like half of these, and now I need a Layton lore video
Poor Hershel
This video is fucking PERFECTION, HELP
This is the best.
1:49 Well I suppose there is more robots, even if they aren't ancient
This is gold 👌🏻
Are we talking about Emmy yet?
No.
pffff X)
lmao this is golden
Holy shit this is amazing 👏
Why is this so true! 🤣
Such a good video
Fucking perfect! 🤣🤣🤣
I played Unwound future and then Azran legacy and during Azran legacy I was like hmm wheres flora and then at the end it was like REINHOLD? THIS IS A PREQUEL? Oops xD
@@nightcollapse tbf "hmm where's Flora" is applicable to most of the original trilogy as well
