listen, there's so many REALLY good little tips mods and tricks in this video, really appreciate you sharing this. I'm definitely going to incorporate them into my trailer when I build it.
Very cool!! You have so many great ideas that I wanna copy haha! And I REALLY want your awning!! Your trailer is like the big brother to ours! Nice!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
The Dometic awning is a cool package but has some drawbacks. We have a new build coming- I just decided to try a non-traditional awning. We will see how it works out.
Great video, on your roof vent. Forget what they call it but you could add another vent cover that covers that vent that way you could still leave it open and not get rained coming in. You may have to close it a little, in case it really rains hard .sorry if i ramble to much.have a great day. Keep your video coming.
TH. Actually, thank you for the ramble :). I will look into it. From now on I will just order the MaxxFan Deluxe but an alternative cover can be helpful too.
Great trailer.I’m building a 6x10 interstate conversion and I also like the barn doors much better.it took me a month to decide on trailer because here in commifornia only trailer manufacturer’s are in desert community and not a lot of choices.the scariest part was installing my side windows and I also went stealthy 🥷 with small 16”x18” windows.I can’t wait to take it out.I’m about 50% done.but are they ever done?
We did a couple of shakedown runs into the desert when the trailer was only partially finished. Good times but definitely put a fire under me to finish it. Of course I am never all the way finished.
We have had no water leaks that we know of. Lots of Dicor up there. We installed our own windows. I was going to make a video but thought I should wait and see how well our install worked after a few thousand miles. So far so good. I will be doing a video of our window install for the upcoming trailer build. My preference would be to have a factory install, but I am picky about location. Best! AD
I have half a roll of butyl tape left over from installing my ladder racks, and a roll of rv roof and leak permanent repair tape im going to use to re-cover the seam along the edge of my trailer roof. Would you recommend caulk or butyl tape to seal the fan? I'll most likely cover with leak tape either way, but since i haven't put a fan in before i thought id ask your opinion on butyl vs caulk?
I used your link for the fan and a couple of magnetic door screens, usually i get sent to a baby blue edged colored screen but your link looked like the regular screen i get when im not going thru someones link. Idk if they changed screens or what, just thought I'd mention it.
GypsyMike, I used butyl tape between the roof and the flange of the fan. Then, once the fan was screwed down and secured we used Dicor Self Leveling Sealant amzn.to/3ar39n1 (That is an affiliate link, just easy for me to grab) along the top of the fan flange (the edge of the flange and the trailer roof) making sure to cover all of the screw tops. The self leveling sealant is really cool. It flows out really nicely but still stays on top of the screws. I have also found that it saves/stores well as long as I put a good cap on the tube. Do not use the self-leveling sealant on a vertical surface as it will flow/run. Let me know if you have any other questions or need clarifications. Best! AD
Good tips. I like that you mentioned the tongue, and the "inside" wheels placement, and the Max fan model differences. Thanks. Subscribed.

Useful video. How's the weather sealant protecting the water leaks coming from the roof? Also, did you install your windows yourself or?
