I’m actually traveling to Japan this summer and was looking at the Osprey vs North Face Recon as a day bag. How did this bag end up working for you, especially on trains/subway and in some of those more cluttered/small shops? I don’t want to be whacking people or things with my bag while I’m there.
I was happy with the osprey. It has a slim profile so I didn’t feel like I was bumping into people. I wore it everywhere we went and although it felt a little heavy at times my back didn’t hurt because of the chest clip. It was great on the airplane and was totally fine in the rain in Japan. The Recon would work well too. My biggest complaint with that one is that if you dropped your bag there’s no buffer space for your laptop and it would hit the ground.
@@AngieReviewsChannel thank you for the info, I want to bring a bigger bag for all my shopping lol but don’t want to stand out too much and look like a backpacker in the city. It’s good to know about the rain too as I’ll be going during rainy season.
I've noticed with this backpack that the top kind of sticks up above the shoulders. I wear a lot of hats/helmets and I'm wondering if you think you'd have any issues with that and this backpack
Sorry for the late reply. I just tried mines on again and I don’t think it would be a problem. I really doesn’t stick up that much. Maybe an inch or two more and that’s only if you make the chest clip tight.
Does it fit under the plane seat?
