Live Curiously with Liv Boeree is a series of videos exploring the fringes of science, philosophy and futurism. In other words, all the stuff that keeps me up at night!
Helloooo friends! Now that I've got your attention with this scientific clickbait, you should subscribe to my channel & check out my other content coz frankly this is the LEAST intellectually stimulating video I've made recently ;-)
How about some astrophysics next?

Impressive physique .. I mean, physics!
okay, but, can she calculate the speed in which I would go down on her? I might actually be standing on a black hole, cus, I would go down on her faster than the speed of light.
@@shukokato9320 she'd be happy with that - you'd break your neck doing it.
Only Live Boeree can distract Chris Moneymaker from ice cream.
best comment
Let Chris have his Oscar, he deserves it. Much play, much wow!
Unfortunately, she can't distract him on the poker table.
when she was walking up the stairs the... potential energy... went through the roof

Found my way here through your Rebel Wisdom interview and also having seen you in poker tournaments. Subscribed. And if you don't mind, please continue to do waterslide videos. At your convenience, of course...
cute girl who is a professional poker player talking about physics with a british accent in a bikini.....yes please.
More like, a poor female doing physics then realize she could use her math to make money.

Hey can you do the physics of a trampoline next?
Cracking vid, Liv. Great to see you're still rocking the physics. When i clocked you on the poker scene I had a double take and harked back to me being an awkward 18 year old at Rock Kitchen and Hulme Hall!
This video is about 80% Liv showing off how great shape she is in...
Ink Ognito combine that with her British accent and you got a stiff Weiner

Yes. Exactly

wow after the 50th time watching this video i still really need to watch it a few more times to learn about how gravity works
If it was Phil helmuth doing this video I wouldn't of clicked on it!
Dr Deuteron then I would watch lol
Is Hellmuth wearing the same outfit? [[[Shutters]]] ugh
This is the greatest video on the internet.
ive never enjoyed watching a rudimentary physics video as much as this one. thank you! Will teach my kids physics with this.
LMAO
Wait what was Liv talking about!? Lol
Nice video and very well explained. It is great when people are able to explain complicated things in a simple and very visual manner. Keep up your good work.👍👍
This deserves more views.
i came here for liv boeree in a bikini , and i was not let down.
Moneymaker won the race because he was in a hurry to get back to the snack bar.
Never been more interested in waterslides
Thank you Liv, for the excellent information. We enjoyed it!
When I said I wanted to know how this works I meant the mechanical stuff like how do you get water to the top? We’re is it coming from? How long can it be on? Can you change how much water comes out? If something brakes how do you fix it? How do you install a slide? And more questions about the mechanics and system that runs it.
Still I enjoyed the video even if it wasn’t what I originally wanted to watch.
Such a wonderful thing when a woman is blessed with beauty that allows her to not have to work, learn, be interesting or treat others well.
Yet she still makes the decision to do all of those things anyways.
Love Liv.
I did not click on this for the physics.
I converted kinetic energy into thermal energy while watching this vid.
liv - your terminal velocity analysis is flawed because the second slide isn't straight down. To be close to exact, you would need to have the slides even out for 2x the original length with the bumps. This is my favorite poker video ever btw.
What is flawed about it, seems right to me. The slides don't have to be straight down for terminal velocity to exist. And where did you get the figure that the slides have to be 2x their length? Sounds like you just pulled it out of your ass to try to make yourself seem smart by pointing out errors that don't exist. Try again.
I'm sorry, I was bored and I decided to make a comment. It's simple neutonian mechanics purple...if the slide curves upwards at a different angle than the other slide, it increases the drag which brings the object to less than its terminal velocity (which would be achieved anyway because the timing of the slide to the water, but I don't want to get into semantics here). Anyway, to get an accurate depiction of which object will fall faster (one object with more mass than another object), then you need even slides that won't skew the curve so to speak. If you want a calculation, I can give you one, but I really don't want to go through the effort unless you're really interested.
Oh, and you're somewhat correct about the 2x length of the slides. I was just estimated the length based upon a typical 6" person. To really be accurate, the slide should be long enough so that terminal velocity would be achieved. Look up newton's 2nd law. It's pretty much self-explanatory. What isn't self explanatory is the fact that only after a bottle and a half of wine, I misspelled newton. hah.
Of course the slides have to be identical, what is the point of even mentioning that, for the purposes of the experiment the slides are "approximately equal." Raising the angle of the slide doesn't necessarily increase the drag, that would depend on the direction of the wind, so I don't know where you get that assumption from. Also "terminal velocity" is just a general term which depends on the conditions of the system, it doesn't just refer to objects in free fall, which is the impression I get from you. Perhaps you mean that as the angle of the slide increases the terminal velocity of the object increases, since it is approaching conditions of free fall. In any case I have yet to see what flaw she made.
If you were concentrating on the physics, I have some bad news for you guys...
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for your lesson on Science 🔭

Wow great video plus Liv in a bikini. Win win.

smart and beautiful, the perfect combo in a person.
Simp ...
I have always wondered what Liv's body looks like. Thank you
Air resistance is negligible compared to your friction with the water in this case. A better test would be for both of you to use one of those donuts to go down. And what a missed opportunity to talk about his greater potential and kinetic energy due to his mass.
LIV in Dubai! one of my favourite human beings on earth! I would have came running to the water park have i known that you were there! Hope you had a brilliant time.
physics is so interesting , i watched this non stop for 3 hours with one hand on the keyboard. yep, physics is awesome

Great Vid Liv!, I came from watching Andrew Neeme. :)
Wow! Liv is beautiful, her full house certainly gave me a straight!
Hi Liv! Could you please make a video about how to learn?
Perhaps next video can be turbulence, chaos, and complexity of mud wrestling?
Is there a part 2?
If you have HBO, watch 'Class Action Park'. It is a documentary about a water park/adventure park in NJ called Action Park with some crazy stuff in it like a water slide that did a loop, or at least tried to- lots of folks lost teeth. Crazy dangerous park.
This was cool but the one question I had stayed unanswered... Can you go too fast?
Thanks for explaining how a slide works. How does a stripper pole work?
Just ask your sister.

2:50 "so why was I so much slower than chris?" * folows with a long and complicated way of saying chris is fat*
0:52 ok I'm a bit confused there : Isn't chemical energy the potential energy within the atomic structure? turning that to gravitational energy sounds like Mass effect
I subscribed because she had a great smile even playing poker👍
Had I seen this video in high-school I would have majored in physics in uni 😂
Speaking of co-efficient of friction, I'd try same experiment but without the swimsuit. :)
Damn, Liv, you are a doll!
1:09 makes me remember that trend back in 2017.... the "small base cap sideways - trend"
OMG loved you in the WPT did not know u started RUclips, Subscribed 😊 x
Something I noticed is that if you push down with your heels and shoulder blades, creating a smaller contact area (but with higher pressure) you gain speed.
I suppose the main reason here is not friction against the water slide, but that you are somehow gaining more speed than the water so water resistance is less when less of you are in the water going down the chute?
"The bigger they are, the harder they fall." Literally.
You accelerate my heart beat.
Where is this? There is a water slide in the temple of doom now???

Physics is fun all of a sudden.
Greatest poker video ever!!
rmx01indiana it's not a poker video duh!
I honestly couldn't care less about who got down quickest, it was more about who went up quickest!
The slipperiness of the slide is entirely down to hydrodynamic factors surely? Your body in contact with the slide is acting as a hydrodynamic bearing as in a Michell or Kingsbury bearing, lifting your body up onto a film of water. A sharp angular body is going to work less well than a larger more padded body that conforms easier to the flat slide.
Experiments on water slides easily demonstrated this, if you sit up slightly pressing down with your elbows, heels and bum, you will go down slower as your extremities break through the film of water supporting you away from the slide. On the other hand, simple coulomb friction predicts that the area of the sliding surface makes no difference.
More of these videos please ☺
whaaaat?! nobody commented on the MAYAN PYRAMID!! awesome ;)
Mistake: "Chris' greater mass allows him to reach a greater terminal velocity than me." I thought it she just established that terminal velocity was impacted by drag and coefficient of friction so mass would be irrelevant.
mass is still the most important factor :o
Nice analysis 👍
Wow,shes talking so much, making a great analysis, getting really into depth about the subject, yet i literally didnt hear a thing she was sayin, focusing on her walking up n down with her little swinsuit was all i could handle!More vids like this Livyyyyy!!!!
