    I feel like Cornette is more 'toned down' when talking to JR versus his verbal bashing on AEW. I like him either way!! He just has that voice & his facts for history that make it great!

    As far as guys who could do it all, I thought Curt Hennig was severely underrated.
    He was a championship wrestler who had great runs in every territory - a solid mid-card to main-event-level talent who bumped like a boss and very technically skilled.
    He did manage Ric Flair in his 90's Fed run as his "Advisor." His part in the Savage-Flair Fued is the straw that stirred the drink and makes me wish Curt had had lived long enough to have another go at managing today.
    He was also a great commentary man and his pairing with Vince almost made Vince tolerable (only Ventura makes Vince tolerable). Of all the wrestlers Vince tried to recreate a second Gorilla Monsoon - Honky Tonk Man, Johnny Valiant, Jim Neidhart, Macho Man, Ted DiBiase, Roddy Piper - I thought Curt was the one mostly closely suit to commentary (though Million Dollar Man was also quite good at times).

    The old NWA and WCW wrestling and shows were the BEST the business ever saw. Way better than the WWF cartoonish network bullshit of then, and definitely now. It was a close call for the Attitude Era though. That was pretty good. Everything after was too much tv show and too little wrestling. Damn that was great wrestling, if you were a wrestling fan. That and AWA.

    Great listening to two people tell stories about when wrestling was treated as a serious deal. Its just a shame that JR has become an AEW apologist because JR knows better when it comes to pro wrestling. He worked for Bill Watts and JR knows damn well that Bill would never tolerate the hokey nonsense that's been going on. I wrongly hoped that AEW would take wrestling more seriously but they just seem to want to be discount WWE.

      @Visual_Ghoul 4 года назад +11

      @@Docstevebruhle He likes FTR and MJF as stated on his podcast. He was a fan of Matt Hardy until he started changing gimmicks mid match. He doesn't like things that make wrestling look like a joke and will avoid those parts of AEW but will keep an eye out for things he can praise. If you listen to the podcast he tells FTR not to joke around and act like clowns. I don't think hes said anything positive about the group he refers to as "The dork order".
