Having a super rough time not dying to frostbolts when doing the actual juggle. I have the pull pathing down but keep getting killed when ads are like 15-20% hp, and I look, all my damage is coming from frost bolts. I have 83 FR with potion. Any thoughts?
if you are doing this post living flame nerf then yeah pulls where you have a lot of sorcerers are for sure harder as you wont get that much healing from living flame anymore tl;dr is that pulls need to be clean, use frost ward as soon as healing from living flame falls off AND id avoid pulling more than 8 sorcs (maybe even 6 if you are not super comfortable doing this post nerfs) Keyvan recorded a pretty good video if anything is left unclear: ruclips.net/video/aZRZmMtg4Ps/видео.html

just takes practice (when to pull what), but you can make it more consistent by pulling sorcerers max range or just not pulling too many of them the first nova generally gives you quite a bit of time to judge when to pull what and just blink earlier if needed you can still get shit slows on top but that's when you can use pvp trinket, cone of cold or iron grenades (and in my case gnome racial as well)

Dying to 4 sorcs is definitely not a frost resistance issue (I can tank 8-10 in proper gear and 100 frost res with pot). Staff is just good cause it allows you to wear more offensive offpieces (rings, cloak) and have a weapon switch as backup. I think as long as you have good gear you can get away with having 70-90 frost res (with pot). Frost resistance more helps you to set up pulls (because you will resist more frostbolts that would otherwise slow you during setup) If you are dying though, it's likely cause your kill phase setup isnt optimal (you don't deal enough damage to Sorcerers in first living flame) Once you reach the ledge and ice block all the mobs will stack up, including casters. After cancelaura Ice Block (and moving out of melee range obviously) your first globals are: Regen (if 1-3 melee mobs resist nova at most channel 1 healing tick or simply applying the temporal beacon is enough. You can channel full regen if you are low and it's needed and no melee mobs resist) -> Living Flame -> Cone of Cold -> Living Bomb. Your only focus early is to apply as many living bombs as possible during your living flame + regen, frost ward should almost never be used (with the exception if you are low hp and frostbolt would literally kill you), because the healing from living flame will keep you up anyway. This helps to clear out all the sorcs asap, because the longer you stall the more dmg you will take from frostbolts (obviously). With the gear I recorded this run I didn't have enough damage to really clear out the sorcerers during living flame and regen and that's when you can rotate frost ward and iron grenades when needed. learning curve for this boost is kinda big yep, but once you get more practice you'll better understand how mobs bounce on the ledge, how and when you can pull what etc can't even count how many times i died when i first started learning it :D

Is there like a certain frost resistance i should aim for? i see you have 60, but i dont have that staff, so i am at 51 with minor magic potion. Do i need to get the other one that is +50 so Im at 76 instead? like im never getting hit by melee's as i've practiced the route, but the frostbolt just keeps hitting even with 100% uptime on Frost Ward and such: Im just bashing my head at this point.
well for one definitely dont run minor magic resistance potion, but use the one that gives +50 instead as long as u have around 75-80 frost res i'd say you are fine, if you want you can record a run so i can give a more precise answer as is kinda hard to pinpoint where u even get frostbolted for the first pull i do sometimes get frostbolted early (after nova), but then i just use the ledge to juggle melee mobs for a second or 2 or just blink early on top i rarely get frostbolted in a bad spot, maybe sometimes during 2nd pull if i take a rly long route and greed to get all mobs, but i have nova, grenade, trinket, gnomish racial as backups tho i think if u swap from minor pot to +50 instead, it will fix a lot of issues already
staff is +23, finger +13, talents +10, ice armor +11, cloak enchant +3, leaving me with 60 unbuffed and 110 with pot BUT as long as you have decent gear you can get away with having 75-90 frost res (with magic res pot)
changing uptime from 20 to 10s is insanely bad yep considering in most cases you wont use it from melee range, your effective uptime is now like 7s bad for both pve and boosts such as this change wasnt live on eu yet so can’t rly say how much it affects this specific boost, but will definitely require a more efficient kill phase for the first 2 pulls with Sorcerers for boss pull change is almost better? but overall yeah would have rather taken a nerf in dmg or cd (from 1m to 2-3) over change in uptime
well i could have been more specific :D but the run was only uploaded for people who kept asking about what gear is needed for this so there are 2 mandatory consumes yes, magic resistance pot for 1st 2 pulls (because of sorcerers) and swiftness for boss pull (tbh that 1 can be skipped as well but makes it easier) and what i more ment was that you don't need every other consumable/buff to do this(lesser arcane elixir, elixir of firepower, elixir of greater defense, elixir of fortitude, mage scrolls, priest buffs, iron grenades, mana pots, wizard oil, whatever else i might be missing from the top of my head) think i had wizard oil still on my frost res staff and used mana pot on boss pull? but wasn't a cherry-picked run and just uploaded first run as is
Would be slightly better to have something with raw SP so Living Bombs would also benefit, but it does have +26 arcane spell for Living Flame and decent int/sta/spirit so yeah can easily use it
Affected in terms of survivability(You get only 1k-1.2k healing) so you have to use second regen during kill packs with sorcs(additional 366 mana) Cooldown now is 30 seconds so in terms of killing nothing special as i see

Why the fuck do the mobs just not get stuck on the corner of the reset spot when I do it, they clear it instantly without the weird little jittery turn around they do everytime you do it

My gear is meh but not ah garbo. But It's impossible to have bad gear in SoD. The instance is free and drops tokens... go run it. I'm just saying you can living bomb more than once. You aren't gaining anything by hitting LB 10x slowly vs 10x back to back. You said yourself you have of the eagle gear. Meaning your regen is shit which it clearly is in the vid. LF then, Tab, LB / repeat till oom collect loot
yeah i know, did a few test runs and it only really affects the runs where u have 8+ sorcs per pull before I could even tank 13 sorcs with living flame healing but now was kinda rough with 8 :D so yeah just maybe don't pull as many sorcs anymore and it's fine

Dont think boosting in itself is that damaging, especially if there is a bigger learning curve or overall complexity to it Obviously it sucks if you are playing x class and mages just farm 20x more gold than you but at the same time aoeing is part of mage class identity and I wouldnt for example try to go kill lvl 50+ mobs in felwood for demonic runes as solo lvl 40 mage but instead make a hunter on 2nd account. And yeah you could just implement a mechanic like they did in Season of Mastery to counter boosting in dungeons, but I dont think forcing everyone to farm open world is necessarily a better solution What is most damaging to economy is that nothing (or close to) is being done about bots (mage bots just flyhacking in stockades for example) @@Acolis

Slightly harder for sure, especially on pulls with 8+ sorcerers, but should still be easily doable
