Yes and no, i find a lot of in game dialogue heavy to read because of the translation while i enjoy the story telling of saintone, so its a win win situation: i witnessed all cutscene myself and skipped what i found presented in a boring way IG i enjoy it as storytelling :)
The lore is interesting and well thought out. The actual storytelling and writing of the characters we are presented with ingame is garbage most of the time. After giving it another chance with the south vern story, I'm now convinced that mashing G on any future story content is the way to go.
Thanks for making this saint, appreciate it as someone who G'd through the story. The more I've paid attention to the story I've realized it's actually pretty decent, and I'm excited to see where I goes
I think it's important to distinguish between worldbuilding and storytelling here, since the worldbuilding is in fact quite good but the storytelling definitely is not. The traditional mmo fetch quest system is not a good medium for delivering an engaging story.

Also I think the story telling in south vern is amazing, those cutscenes are some of the best I've seen from an MMO and that's saying something
@@Brosephv the problem is there's no reason to care about any characters. You get no personal detail or any reason for them to he doing anything. They're simply tools to use as a lever against the antagonist, which is just "chaos and evil" The characters aren't written as characters, they're written as vehicles. I enjoyed the rapport quest lines more than anything in the main story Contrast this to ffxiv which does story telling right, and you spend a few hours with the main characters just bantering and having a laugh as they poke fun at each other, or by questioning each others ideals and goals. You get jokes and quiet, intimate moments that reveal more about the plot or the character. Lark has nothing. Characters show up when they are needed for the narrative. They do some epic attack and then leave. They hardly have any reason beyond being the good guys against the bad guys.
@@Sammysapphira I think it's a different type of story. Ffxiv the focus is the story. Lost Ark is designed such that you can G through all the story. But the story itself, as you said is a vehicle. A propaganda with many levels. Argentine, for example, beyond cool robots, speaks of humanity destroying themselves through technology, global warming, even have a song. Felton, the brightest light shines in the deepest darkness. Those who struggled against despair and wrote their own destiny, through control, courage, and sacrifice. Punika, a big party with cute girls to cheer people up during pandemic. South Vern, a democracy senate, using propaganda to it's own people detriment to overthrow a ruling autocracy that ultimately served the people. Heck, the South Vern story might even merit censorship because it clearly aimed at today's political environment.

Saintone, i was just on a 2 hour drive and decided this was what i'd be listening to the whole way through. I think you're a great story teller. Your jokes really suited my taste but most importantly there was the perfect amount of them, not too many and not too little (actually if anything you could increase it by maybe 10%). You think a really vague story and managed to create great content out of it. I tried doing research after to look up some of the characters and plot points you discussed online but wasn't really able to find much so kudos on some great research. Thank you so much!
I like the idea of a virtual bonfire storytime where we're all listening to saintone, but I just wished the "virtual" aspect of this concept was taken advantage of and more b-roll was added to supplement the locations/races etc. Otherwise, thanks to whoever helped produce this!
unfortunately smilegate didn't provide images based on every single race or any old story images, i feel so bad because of that .. :( i really wanted as well to add these kind of stuff ..but there weren't any.

Listening to the video again after the broadcast about Gold River's Step Down is... painful. What sort of story he and his team created should be more than appreciated and all the OGs and the LostArk Community in general shall be proud of him! Despite all of that, I hope his condition will somehow get way better as out of a miracle. Saint, the stream was awesome and the way how you explained the Lore in your own unique way gave all of that even more of a wow. :)

I hope that you find small bits or interesting lore bits that arent really that related to the main sotry or stories where you'd like to expand and develop more, this work is GREAT for many of us that have a hard time to piece things up together or the "G" gamers, amazing work and greately appreciated. There's not many documents where we can read the lore throughfully so every work you do for it is a huge piece for the community. If you can talk more about lore and details will be amazing!
As a "G" gamer - I have to say thank you greatly, Saint!! I definitely was interested in knowing the lore but was never wanting to spend the time to learn more of it in place of progressing my characters and getting through the lore bits to get to the parts I found more fun! This was very entertaining

Thank you for savoring all the rich lore Arkesia has to offer, and in so doing, letting us enjoy it as well. I appreciate that you aren't just another "how to get to Tier 3 in as few steps as possible because enjoying games is for casuals" sort of RUclipsr. You're a welcome breath of fresh air in the otherwise grind-obsessed MMO world.

I pressed G throughout the entire story. Enjoyed the entire video. Really enjoyed the almost unscripted and casual nature of the video and just like what was shown like listening to Saintone at a campfire place. Will be back for the next one.

I'm a special case. I not only love the lore but I love the in-game storyline and all the characters we are introduced to. I never skipped the main quest using "G" as I was having so much fun role playing and was heavily invested in the storyline. Personally I feel that everything was well thought out and written. Those that say otherwise are the same players that grind their lives away at increasing their item levels during end-game.

Around 39:20 you talk about how Thermur(?) the 3rd has 6 pieces out of 7, with the last one being in the Queen's Garden in Rohendel. Before that only 5 others were mentioned besides the Queen's Garden - Reformists, Shushire, the submerged city, Antarus mountain, and the body of Domec(?). Did they already have one in their possession beforehand, was one of the locations left out, or did they only end up finding the location of 6 total and not the 7th? Amazing video and thanks in advance.

Can someone clarify something for me...I think I got the timeline wrong somehow. So, at 40:55 in the video, Saint tells about how Innana died due to the magic core almost exploding, her soul being put inside Azana's body. He says this happens hundreds of years before, while telling the story of the Sacria(Hollow fruit) war. So basically it happened way before this war. However, at approx 1:14:00 we hear about how Brelshaza, after the Chain War, manipulated some of the Sylvains to make the core explode, killing Innana, being also the reason Azana expelled them. So...when did Innana die? Was it before the Sacria religious war, or after the Chain war(from what I understood, this war erupted as a repercussion of the Sacria war).

Like I knew the red moon was bad when I was doing feiton, but it never really explained what it actually was and why. The best lore content I have gotten from the game I think is probably from rapport questlines.

I watched thru all the cutscenes and tried to read as many pieces of text as possible... makes me realize how terrible I really am at reading comprehension 😂 I didn't know there were even more lore behind P2W elements, that was cool as hell. Then again, with how much more grey Regulus was being portrayed throughout the lore, spending pheons (more like peons) has been making plenty of sense as much as we hate it since Lupeon is his name in KR.
