After a failed rebellion against HE, the creator of all gods, the god Morbus is banished to Earth - a punishment worse than death for him, as Morbus is highly allergic to all green plants.
With the aid of his assistant Q'nqüra and the dark gardener, Morbus develops the Shadowweed - a plant that drains the life from all plants around it, until it dies and leaves behind a dead wasteland. Morbus then creates his own tribe, whose only purpose is to help him ravage Earth with the shadowweed. To stop him, the three human tribes - Romans, Vikings and Mayans, will need to join forces.
