Are you booked for the Savoy? We’ve semi-decided to split our time moving forward. FS for a couple days upon arrival, to chill & adjust to time change - Savoy for remaining time in London because it’s SO convenient 💕 That being said, the lame coffee bar, lack of in-room entertainment and NO snacks is a big deterrent. I may have to re-think 🥹 Funny how the small things matter.
Yes! Details matter! We're heading to Canada this year for some leaf peeping. BUT, next year we're hopping the pond. We haven't made our final decision on where to stay yet...Savoy was high on the list. We may need to reconsider or do a spit stay as you did! We are booked on the Royal Scottsman for our anniversary month and we're planning to add a few days on the front and back end of the train portion.

Yay!! Happy to share!! We typically do a "big" trip in September for our anniversary and some smaller "get aways" at other times of year. I'm excited for all of them 😃. A "sleep on the train" experience has been on my list for a while. When I saw this one, I knew it was the one for us. 🥳

Thanks for the tips. My husband and I go to London every year. We stay at the Stafford Hotel London, a five-star hotel steps away from St. James Park. It is a lovely boutique hotel with a great restaurant and a very popular bar. The staff provides exceptional service, and the rates are very reasonable. Larger parties can also rent out the wine cellar in the basement, which is an amazing experience.
Oh yes - I remember seeing the Stafford! Love the idea of the wine cellar - what a memorable experience that would be.
I was shocked by the Savoy. There are literally thousands of hotels in London--the competition is huge. Also surprised by the Four Seasons. I normally don't like their interiors, but this was opulent. Also: I do afternoon tea every day. It's surprising how much it fortifies you to get more done! Thanks for the video!

It's so much fun to see what the hotel rooms really look like. I mean the photos on the hotels websites are always enhanced so you don't really know what you're getting unless you're inside.
Totally. Plus the websites are meant to sell you on the property, so you never know the TRUE experience unless you get legit feedback from someone who's actually stayed. ;-)

We stayed at the Marriott County Hall (right next to the Eye) last autumn; it’s definitely not in the same category of luxury as The Savoy or The Four Seasons but did provide excellent service, a lovely breakfast overlooking the Thames, and spacious rooms. And I have had afternoon tea at The Savoy…love!
UberBoat is fabulous, my bestie lives in Greenwich (just Greenwich no village 😉😂, that’s in NYC💖)and highly recommend going there!

Fun to see these London luxury hotels. I may never stay in either, but it’s fun to live vicariously. It sounds like the Savoy is the hotel version of “a big dumb bag”. Beautiful luxury on the outside, but not functional on the inside (uncomfortable furniture, crummy TV, no snacks).

Oooo fun!! We also took the train into Bath, then drove out to Castle Combe for a few days to stay at the Manor House (Wilshire area). Visited Nettleton & Littleton Drew - small villages where my husbands parents are from. Where are you going?
