  • Changing the way people think of farming.
Welcome to Farmer Veteran Coalition's first ever episode of Heroes of the Harvest. FVC's very own podcast where we interview members of FVC, as well as members of the agriculture and Veteran communities.
Our guest for our very first episode is Amanda Blount. She is a native of Mackeys, North Carolina, where she grew up on a family farm. She spent over two decades with the US Army as a logistics and ordnance officer before retiring in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Since retiring, she has passionately shared her funding and grant writing expertise by offering free foundation grant writing classes to nonprofit leaders and educators in Montgomery County, Tennessee and surrounding areas.
In this episode, Amanda discusses how to get into small-scale and microfarming, some marketing/social media tips, and the ever-changing perspective of how a farm can look.
For more information, you can reach out to Amanda via email therealamandablount@gmail.com or follow her on Instagram at TheRealAmandaBlount.
Fun fact: Amanda is also the one who helped us come up with the name for our podcast!
