The sonic story was actually quite nice. Just a mom working hard at being a good mom while sprinkling in comedy into the story telling.
I have Asperger's myself and that woman is being an exceptional mother to her son. She's doing pretty much everything right in keeping him invested and working with his special interests as teaching aids and not trying to force him out of them. That being said, holy hell that saga had so many twists and turns to it that it could have been a full sitcom plotline.
For me it was my baby blankets. Luckily I just slept with it. Idk what life would of been like if I lost it when I was 10. I know it took me 20 years to find the exact same vintage blankets on ebay. Only for me to realize damn I trashed the fk outta mine.

As an aspie, I wholeheartedly agree. I'm "high-functioning autistic", or what used to be called Asperger's. I have problems, pretty bad ones, even as a grown-ass man. Never once did my parents push Sonic on me. It can always be worse, brothers and sisters. I mean, it's not illegal or unethical to like Sanic, just possibly immoral. I dunno what it is about the Sanic that does these things to people. Just have boundaries and priorities.
Also, God bless Moms there for taking a major case of Sanic syndrome in her stride, even if baptizing plushies is most definitely not cool.

@@ArachD206 reminds me of the time I stopped at a walmart during a roadtrip near Redding, California. It was febuary and the highway going north by Mt Shasta had been shut down due to snow. Saw a homeless guy in the parking lot who was having difficulty keeping his pants up and had no jacket on. Tried to help the guy, when I saw his fingers were all blue and he had worn his fingers down to the point of bleeding. Think he was drunk. I went to an employee and I think it was him who suggested calling the police to hopefully at least get him in a cell overnight instead of staying exposed during the coming snowstorm.

I totally get that sonic kid. I used to LOVE stuffed animals. I had a teddy bear who I treated basically the same as that sonic. I’ve never been diagnosed with autism, bit late now. All I know is that you should never get between a kid and his stuffed animals. Those guys are just as alive to that kid as any human being. Really smart mother though lol.
It's a pretty normal kid thing. My youngest had a Grumpy bear figure that had to go everywhere, and my oldest had a Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal that had to go everywhere. The oldest is 25, almost 26, and moved a couple hours away with his wife. He came by a couple of weeks later to get his blue bear. It's the very first one he'd been given when he was born. Believe me when it's lost, any parent looks for an identical replacement. Being autistic has little to do with it.

That one lady talking about making friends in Florida is simply not trying hard enough. Floridians are very friendly including to new people. Most of them moved form other places anyways. I’ve lived here most of my life and it has been the case at any point. The key though, just don’t be political, at least not in public and especially when you’re not in the majority. People don’t care about your political beliefs. I have liberal friends, conservative friends, libertarian friends, hell I’m even friends with a self proclaimed communist.
