  • Through TwoSetViolin I've been introduced to many classical pieces, and with their recent "Duh Duh Duh Dum", I knew I had to recreate it with the original songs, or in this case, "pieces".
I tried my best to recreate B²TSM's "Duh Duh Duh Dum" with the original pieces. Sorry if some of the information isn't accurate.
See the original video: • B²TSM - 'Duh Duh Duh D...
    Credits to:
    - B²TSM for the mix
    ( / twosetviolin )
    - The instrumental used as a backing track ( • B2TSM - Duh Duh Duh Du... )
    - u/fogdocker for being my reference for all the pieces
    ( / all_classical_music_re... )
    - me.. I did the audio and video editing
    Tracklist:
0:00 - Toccatta and Fugue in D minor
    0:50 - Symphony No. 40 in G minor
    1:03 - Swan Lake
    1:17 - Symphony No. 5 in C minor
    1:31 - DSCH motif
    1:45 - Swan Lake
1:58 - Symphony No. 5 in C minor + Toccatta and Fugue in D minor
    2:12 - Fur Elise
    2:31 - Paganini Solo + Symphony No. 5 in C minor
    2:44 - Symphony No. 5 in C minor

This is amazing 😃 it's really amazing how all the melodies can transfer into one another so seamlessly…and this shows that classical music isn't boring or out of it's time, it's still catchy and has so many levels you can analyze. Also, looking at Shostakovich's profile, does anyone think that Brett actually looks quite a bit like him 🤣 (or maybe it's just the spectacles…)

The pop beats really gave a fine modern touch to the pieces.
If you search for science related to music beats you will see that there are peculiar tempos/ bpm (beat per minute) that evoque some kind of emotion or urge (e.g dancing).
Pop is "popular" because it gives emphasis to beats (with loud, repeated percussions) that makes you feel "energized" and are easier to remember (simplified melodies+repeated percussion around 120bpm), thus being catchier.
My thoughts are that pop is easier and faster to "digest", but classical is about slowly "digesting and contemplating" the sounds.
It's really interesting to listen to a mashup like this.

I was more into Beethoven and Mozart when I was young. As I got older, I appreciate more of Bach's work and still love Mozart. Recently getting into Prokofiev and now I'm more intrigued with Shostakovich and want to learn more about him and his story through his music.

Great job! I saw TwoSetViolin's piece and it was great. But you did an excellent job in incorporating the original pieces and placing the names so that people can know the names and who composed them. Shostakovich is a composer I never heard of before. I had to look him up to kind of understand his part in the whole arrangement. I managed to find a video that used that "motif", as used in TSV piece. I was ecstatic when listened to the arrangement again, because it became sort of an understanding. Like "now I get it".
I don't understand sheet music note marks. I only understand the basic of what I was taught in elementary school in music class. But I've heard enough classical pieces over the years that I can almost recognize a "sample" of it used in a wholly new arrangement. Sadly, I can't remember the names as I've never known them or the person who originally composed them. But after being introduced to TSV by my niece I'm slowly gaining an appreciation to learn the connections to these songs that I've heard for so long.
