Also, they should give their children freedom to make their own decisions and be a backbone in their decision making process. On the other hand, children should also try to convince their parents with love and affection about their likes, passion, goals, and so on (without being a coward and not being aggressive as well and take their generation gap into consideration) and should not simply blame their parents for not understanding their feelings. It's a mutual effort and both children and parents should put in effort to maintain transparent and open communication.
