@demonderpz It was just some random joke that Hayley made in the SA2 dub (or it might have been an in-joke among the cast before that) and it ended up becoming a running gag as people kept referencing it over and over. To give a few examples:
In Sonic Adventure 2, 1907 was the last time Amy and Knuckles saw each other before the events of the game
In Sonic Riders, 1907 was the year Knuckles took history classes at Yale
In Life is Strange, 1907 was the year Chloe first entered the wonder truck, before emerging 6 years later in 2015

I had assumed everybody knows what the footage is, just not what everybody else is going to say: the timing sometimes feels too good otherwise.
From what I understand, while many of them knew what happens in the game, very few knew how the reference footage was edited. In the video editing process, Penny lightly edits the audio timing to better match the footage.

I love that Maleficent's voice actor tried to create some semblance of plot being the most prominent antagonist of the game, but by this point has given up and became a creepy stalker.

With one rad episode left until the finale, something I really love about this series that I wanted to point out is that there's this really consistent fact (whether by accident, intention, or a mix of both) that Sora is "pure". Not pure hearted, or pure evil but...pure. Like an empty vessel, picking up pieces from every adventure. Some good, like happiness and closeness with others, but most bad. Violence, hatred, to the point that a lot of the weird wisdom Sora started with has been replaced with almost blind loyalty to Donald and bloodlust. Yet the vessel is not yet full: still pure enough to want to be a cardiologist, pure enough to still help Donald with his six leg situation.
And i think that really elevates this fandub, cause its something EVERY character has an impact on. It's the real "throughline" of this series, acting as an inverse of Canon Sora's adventure and providing a pretty consistent plotline. Huge shoutout goes to Jenny as Jiminy as well, since she really ties it all together. Jiminy is, as always, "the conscious". Just not a very benevolent one.
There's so many other clever aspects as well: Maleficent and the gang's plan being consistently just "be evil for shits and giggles, figure out the rest later", Donald's constant power grabs, and especially Riku acting as a kind voice of reason who's really in over his head. If I had the time/capacity I'd love to just, really go into detail how this fandub's got a lot of really interesting themes under the surface.
