Also in one of the videos of this playlist, precedent was defined as a principle where decisions of higher courts are binding on decision of lower courts. That's not incorrect. But isn't completely correct either.
The matter is limited not only to the higher and lower courts, but also temporally. So the present judgements have a binding on the future ones.
