      This year’s team is looking much like our 2006 Super Bowl team. Hell, they even have the same losses!(Packers, Dolphins, Patriots). Our Defense is #1 in DVOA, Ranked 3rd in point differential behind the Chiefs and Rams. Moreover, our offense is Top 10 thanks to an aspiring young mobile QB and a two-headed monster between Howard & Cohen. As well as our receiving corps proven to give teams a fit between the speed and agility of Gabriel & Cohen, the scrappiness and talent of Miller, and the height and red-zone presence from Robinson. Our defense has stepped up their game with Mack being out and with the likely condition of Mack and Robinson being back could be a huge leg up against a struggling Lions team as of now.

    In all honesty, it's amazing the Bears got as far as they did that year. The quarterback is still the most important position in the game and Rex Grossman made Jay Cutler look like Tom Brady. The fact that the Bears overcame that liability to reach the Super Bowl is a pretty significant accomplishment.

      No way man… sorry, Indianapolis was the better team. The Bears simply didn't have the offense to keep up, and without Tommie Harris. The defense was never the same. They spotted us a 7 point lead and an interception on the next possession, and they still kicked our asses. The Bears were beaten by a better team. Plain and simple.

      richig761 lovie's playcalling doomed the bears. i'm not saying they would have won, but it could have been closer. putting the game on grossman's shoulders instead of having jones and benson carry the load was ridiculous

    • @richig761
      @richig761 10 лет назад +1

      AJ Stanton Lovie never, at any time called offensive plays. Ron Turner did, as he was the offensive coordinator. And the Bears ran more running plays in that Super Bowl than Pass plays until they had no choice down two scores in the 4th quarter.

    • @marianstallings9780
      @marianstallings9780 9 лет назад +3

      What are you serious. You are right about one thing Rex lost it! The Tampa 2 was very good. In my opinion the 46 D was outstanding. I think you need to realize anyone can run the 46 but, the 85 team had the right athletes to run it almost perfectly. My fav. part of the 46 was watching the linebackers and watching Dave Duerson come down from his SS position and basically act like a fourth linebacker. The heart of that D was the D line the could take on blocks, shed blocks, or tie up the O line to give the backers room to roam around and punish the QB. A good example of that was the game in Dallas in 1985, The only knock on that linebacking cor was they couldn't cover for shit. Miami exposed that. The 2006 team had better special teams though.

    And they said the D might be bad this year. Yea the schedule's been not that tough so far, but 3rd in YPG, 1st in rushing/game, 1st in PPG, 1st in INT, 1st in TO, 4th in sacks (with 1 less game), and 1st in DTD. There's good defense, and then there's public mugging defense. And Urlacher isn't even himself.

    Best bears team in history. Surpassed 85 without ring we cheered for punts. Urlacher made cover 2 like the 4 6 of 85

    People like the bears because the bears are the most intense team in the NFL

    The Bears really blew it that year. The defense was SO dominant, but Peyton Manning carved them up like a turkey in that Super Bowl. Even Devin Hester spotting them a TD to start the game wasn’t enough. Such a waste. Smh…

    Arizona game, really showed what the bears were made of, no quarterback all special teams and defense.
