This kind of rework would be a disaster. Right now Shai is underperforming in terms of damage but she can boost entire party's damage by so much it doesn't matter. Reworking Soon,Moon,Stars like that would negate that and essentially make it so taking Shai on a 5 man party would be a DPS loss. Looking at how many AP monkeys there are people will often pick DPS over survivability. Now boosting heals is nice but completely useless if someone gets one-shot. Even just increasing range on the heals would be often much more useful than increasing their strength as good luck getting heals on those who actually need it on bosses like Jigwi where everyone spreads out 50% of the time. If anything instead of attack speed on Tuck-and-roll Shai just needs higher damage multiplers on all skills.
Those changes that those two are suggesting would obliterate shai in pve, the capped content would be even worse that it is now and that's a lot to say, changing the class to be more oriented to be a healer while barely having mobility to get where the healing is needed is funny, putting the speed buffs from sun, moon, stars into hop and tuck and roll is a lazy idea you will be forced to constantly use them to not feel like you're on a wheelchair (why instead don't put those 25% speed buffs into her natural speed so she doesn't have to relay too much in those two skills), thinking that delusive light needs a nerf shows that they haven't never use the skill if they would, they have realized that is bugged and doesn't apply the debuffs appropriately since forever they just read the description and call it broken xD, as much as people hate it misty is necessary (you could change how potent the skill is but not delete it it needs to be potent) to the class since without it the class is never a threat you could just ignore her and she needs a way to interact with enemies as well, you could argue that the bongos could be used like that but let's be honest bongos are getting more useless by the day with the amount of protections are in the game. The way I see it Choice and Divios aren't trying to fix the class they looking for a quick way to get rid of her. Conclusion if the class is causing a problem to the game the solution is that for every nerf you do to her support capabilities you need to buff her individual capabilities accordingly (People seem to forget the class is way behind than any other class in many things) basically making shai closer to a valky, wizard, witch, dosa awakening are. It would be a bit unfair to do those changes after 5 years since the class was released but outright nerfing her support capabilities will destroy the class.
yea the reason I like the changes is because I’m not the biggest fan of these kind of content at the moment, I don’t really pve and capped kinda always sucked anyways. But for the content I do like I think I’d be more fun, like aos and uncapped. I think I said this too somewhere but yea that’s what I think personally, and I understand it’d be worse in those

@@ArsenNate I remember playing a weaker version of shai in season 1 solare, her buffs were weaker, she had misty every 30 seconds, I got insulted in every match for playing with "the roleplayer class", "the lifeskiller class", "the P class" :P and sometimes they even left the match or stay in base I remember. As an avid Shai player, I think Divios and Choice are basing their recommendations on the best of the best players at end game and that doesn’t make the overall game experience better but I get where they’re coming from. A Shai in PvP can upgrade a Great player into an Untouchable one and a Good player into a Great one but a Bad player will stay a Bad player or get even Worse because of the false confidence having Shai buffs can produce. If anything, I’d like to see Shai get a full round of healthy buffs. She doesn’t need any nerfs in her current state. ✌❤ Edit: The buffs I'd like to see - 1. Decrease the damage that we receive from every other class to be on par with every other class in the game. (BDO Damage charts on the website) 2. Increase the damage we do in PvE and PvP to be on par with every other class. (BDO Damage charts on the website again) 3. Make the Shai Buffs last 10 minutes. (They'll still end on death) 4. Decrease the cool down for Misty haze to 1 Minute. 5. Give Shai more Protections (preferably SA on her Skateboard but FG would be better than nothing) 6. Give Shai more moves/ skills/ attacks/ abilities. (atleast a couple to make her a more intricate class) 7. Give Shai more CCs on said new abilities. That's it for now
The problem with Shai can be summed up in 1 sentence. Shai is either useless or overpowered, depending on the situation, there is never a situation where they are simply fine.
Shai in PVP with alot of super armor skills is one of the best classes in 1vs1 in my opinion the only improvement that Shai needs in PVE is more powerful AP buff and Shai is pretty fast class when her buffs applied.
Don't know how relevant that document is now (Divios /choice), given PA hinted at changes to resistances... That may force a rework of shai (protections.) but i don't have much to say cus i just RBF for now :P ... Will leave it up to the Shai doing more of the game than me, to say what's what :)
I just came back to playing BDO and picking the game seriously with a friend. He is playing a Drakania (the Drake woman idk) and I always liked Shai even at launch and I always liked to play the healer/support/utility role. One day I was looking at him farming weekly inf Potion and... I was jealous, holy AoE, holy movement. And is not just Drakania, even the new Gunsliger class and other classes have insane movement or AoE comparated to Shai. Its okay, I see shai doing a consistent damage and the class combos can ditch a lot of damage in PvE, but griding solo or griding in areas is just way worse than any other class. They should change some skills to a "Boomerand Bounce" that bounces in enemies or something, making the AoE of the W+Shift Bigger and please in the name of god give me more movement, the boomerand skate is okay but not very pratical for grinding in many spots. One thing that would make it funny would make the 3rd RMB other skill or something, hitting a bigger area and clearing around the Shai, this would be very nice for AoE. Overall Shai is very strong in PvP and some PvE group content, but not mandatory on PvE group and PvP could see some changes for more active roles besides a buff bot, maybe a directional healing (like a line in front) or things like that.
I played Shai since the class launched. It use to be pretty good at pve, capable at higher end grinding spots with lower gear than most other classes. Then they nerfed misty, then her damage. This left the class in a bad spot. Also, I think these changes would be horrible for the class. But that is just my opinion.
What i see it that we need not a nerf we need more skills When we have 1 more debuff and 1 more heal it can be help But i must say when your team is good and you are a good shai the heal is good and you don't need more In the time you can't heal you buff for and make debuff You have 2 debuff and 1 is strong and the other is okay but in the time you make buff and debuff the heal is ready again Lock at your mini map at the nw witch from your team have Maybe no buffs And make ping when you buff at a fight that the shot caller can see the shai is there and buff and is Maybe close to the shotcaller or not close to the shotcaller Standing with the shai is what make the shai hard to play But when you stand and run good at a nw you are every time good When you grind with the shai on a Single spot it is hard You must lern every spot other than normal class You can make ok or good money with her but you must time every think perfekt The buff the debuff and the back attack The way you move >.< You have not the big aoe you must pull the mobs some time and kill them in the same time Other class don't need to pull With the way you go in the mobs you pull every think in the way you need the mobs to stay that the shai can make her hits hard and fast It can work but you need more brain than every other player on this spot Play the shai with no hp and no mana pot some time to see your problem at the spot When the mobs are hit you You standing the most time wrong And when you have mana problem you move not fast in the mobs and make no back attack Lock at your trash at the 1h you make more but it is hard when you make it for the first time >.< To play a shai is hard some time but when you love the shai you play her and make it good ^.^
Thanks I hate it. I dont understand what they are thinking. Misty is getting nerfed again why? because oluns and pvp, aka the only times you actually use it. If pvp debuffs are an issue then give it different scaling for pvp, and if the only way to do oluns is with misty then oluns needs a rework. I understand people like to min max everything which means you need a shai for group stuff, but its only like the reason you need shai is because shes the ONLY support class. Meanwhile she keeps getting reworked and nerfed, while her solo pve experience gets worse and worse. I mained shai for a while, farmed the infinite health pot with her. The buffs dont last long enough and the buffs aren't strong enough to justify using solo, it only makes since in groups cause your multiplying the effectivness by the number of people. And now they want to turn her into a healer, in a game where you either get one shot or cc'd to death. Meanwhile other classes have such insane movement (something that doesnt exist on shai), that getting close to them to heal is an issue. If you want her to be a healer give her more range and more movement. Make her buffs double for her specifically and last at least 5min if not 10. Buff the hell out of her attacks, especially the ones with Sol since those are non-existant. And make it easy/quick to weave between the boomerang and sol attacks/debuffs. Also give her some actual debuffs for pve, cause 10% atk spd debuff is pointless. Give her a debuff that reduces max hp by a percent, an attack that freezes repeatedly, or a song that draws in aggro from a massive range. I swear they think shai only does oluns and is op at it so she has to get nerfed again and again.
i think the nerf could be fine but they need to gib shai more dmg for its moves and little more cc's now ik this would make the shai less party and more close to 1v1 class but its pve is scuff rn and it would be nice to see shai least have a chance to 1v1 a little

I don't think a Shai with those changes would be fun in the current aos your allies will die before you are able to heal them xD.
