Good stuff. I'm waiting for your thoughts on Thursday's and weekend games
Tips will be out tomorrow
I like the blues I just feel they are a bit overrated this year but I think they might be able to make it into September
You’re right. Carlton is massively overrated, did well for half a season and now premiership favourites? Please
ooohhhhhh bold call. Nah i reckon we're still going to finish at least top 6
I hope crows live up to all these RUclipsrs hype cause I’ll be a happy supporter and not a pissed off supporter every second week
What are you saying exactly? You think Adelaide will lose on the road?
I think Adelaide will be better for last year. They'll be stronger. I wouldn't want to play us if I was the opposition. As long as our team defence is up to it.
@@Mike...01 pretty much just missed to many goals last year that cost us games away from home and I’m worried about the backline and I more meant people putting us in top 4 ain’t no way u justify that we won 2 games away last year and they were only against the bottom 2 sides
G'day, Mr Riles. I am sticking with my predictions that I made in your "Early 2024 AFL Predictions" video.

Premiers- Brisbane
Runners Up- Collingwood

Rising Star - Colby McKercher
You will see freo will be top 8
West Coast 0-23
Don’t get the Adelaide hype. Defence is only average. Not enough depth in the midfield. Walker is 34 now, will he kick 70 goals again? And struggle away from home. Just a mid table side. Lots of holes on their list. Not convinced about GWS yet. They’re just a mid range side. The finals was an outlier. Swap them with Melbourne, just like Collingwood last year a lot of people will regret leaving them out and Bulldogs are also way too low here I feel. They have so much talent. You’re still my favourite RUclipsr either way
Understandable on your view of Adelaide, either you're on them or not so much. However they were the highest scoring side last year, the number 1 forward line in the comp for efficiency, show elite pressure and intensity around the footy. It's just if they can continue to build those strengths and add more polish to their game away from home. I can defo see them fall in that 6-10 range like last year, but I am bullish on them.
GWS have a harder fixture and if they dont get the same output from hogan/riccardi etc. they could fall out of the 4. Watch out for Cadman though. Saints are a smokey to shock the comp I agree. Can't see them lower than 10th, a very hard side to score against. Really need to improve their front half game and scoring if they want to push for the top 4.
Melbourne and the doggies have such broad range for me. They play their best they're both top 4 contenders. Really skeptical however with their weaknesses. The competition was so even last year that even a side like Geelong who finished 12th were stringing together top 4 quality performances. Mixed in with the rise of some of the lower teams from last year, I feel the doggies & the dees will be on the down. Got to always splash in some bold calls at the end of the day as well with reasoning.
@@RilesMacca Appreciate it 👍🏻
Crows for top 4 Lmao
@@RilesMaccaAre you still bullish? I think they will finish bottom 4 or 5

updated predictions due to the AFL practice matches
1st Brisbane strong side and will win the flag
2nd Melbourne drastically improving since last year will play brisbane in the granny
3rd Carlton their strength late in the season goes all the 2024 season
4th GWS they start strong but lose their last 4 matches
5th Sydney did what they did last year and make a finals comeback at the end of the season
6th St Kilda a massive threat this season considering what they did against the bombers last week
7th Collingwood looked very shaky against the tigers and they will drop hard
8th Adelaide make it into finals after some close wins at the end of the season
9th Bulldogs just miss out on top 8 by a 5pt loss in the final round
10th Gold coast exciting to watch but cant get over the line
11th Geelong another disappointing year for the catters
12th Port adelaide (my bold prediction) disappointing year for them being beaten by the top teams by 35pts
13th Fremantle alright but not the best team this season mid
14th Hawthorn bold prediction but they will get a couple upsets done
15th North Melbourne will shock some people next season not finals ready but a better season than previous years
16th Richmond either players are too old or too young and not enough experience
17th West coast better season will win more than 4 games
18th Essendon disappointing year for them only winning 3 games
Lol at your Collingwood comment. When will people ever learn once it comes to them? So Collingwood won by 5 goals and Carlton got smashed in both practice matches not that it means much but if you’re going to use that logic why have you got them so high on your ladder then? 🤔Magpies just won the premiership in their last proper match. I think that’s a much much better guide but suit yourself it’s your ladder. Top 4 lock they are. Maybe even top place and another premiership again. Just wait.
@@JCStorm76Yes i do also see Collingwood coming top 4, but i don’t see them doing that this season. Geelong won a premiership in 2022 and came 12th last year. I personally think that’s going to happen again. Just not as hard.
Freo bombers and saints all finish top 6 for me
Bombers hell no saints nah freo yeh
I reckon 6th-10th all finish within 4 points of each other with the top 3 making it in off of percentage
Could be right with that, feels like such a log jam between a range of spots.
When you react to these at the end of the season, just know this is just a hard season to predict 😂
Freo to come from 3-8 to end 14-10 and make a prelim?
1. GWS
2. Brisbane
3. Sydney
4. Adelaide
5. Collingwood
6. Western Bulldogs
7. St Kilda

Grand final:
GWS 25.10.160
Brisbane 11.6.72
Big call: Toby Greene kicks 10 goals
Get off the drugs bro
100% agree with you Riles, Carlton are over-hyped this season and I echo your doubts. Another cracker video with great reasoning! Can't wait for the season to start!
Finally someone said it, I agree that Carlton are indeed overhyped. Let's not forget their great form only started halfway into the season. Prior to that, they were an average team. My only doubt is their consistency, as you mentioned, but I do think they will make finals.
as a richy fan i can see us 17th ngl but i can also see us as high as 12th
For cats they need to fix their midfield if new players step up then watch out they will push for top 4
Hawthorn to win the flag
I can't see giants anything but first or second
10:16 God damn dogs are definitely not finishing 14th way to low too good of a side atm I’m coming back to this at the end of the season
yep they’re my big call, hard team to gauge we’ll see
Hawthorn will be slightly better maybe 13th or 12th. Gws, Collingwood or carlton will win

Love your videos! React to our afl predictions as well at the end of the year!
Get this man on fox footy! Your knowledge, commentary and graphics are all worthy to have your own segment on TV. Outstanding mate arguably the best AFL RUclipsr!
You need to swap Geelong with the dogs
Fair enough both teams I can see in either position, very hard to gauge teams.
Personally it depends on how many injuries we get hit with. Last season we never really had our full defensive unit and we still almost made the 8
Great video Riles mate! Really hoping this season will be another thrilling season! And hopefully the Suns will finally make the finals
Hopefully they do mate, this could be the year.
If you’re reading this in September 2024, don’t lie, you made some of these shocking predictions too.
You’re right, not even having the swans in the top 4 and winning the flag will leave me with an egg on my face 😉
Agree with most of that , maybe crows too high and tiges too low
Lions had there chance in 2023 and lost, it’s too hard to get back to a gf the next year
I reckon they got lucky, they played both games at home, Port was an easier win, and they beat Carlton because of them coming from 2 close wins and then at the Gabba with no breaks. Collingwood also deserved to beat them by a bit more tbh.
Brisbane make a prelim at the very most
Geelong definitely continue on their way down to bottom 6. Carlton overrated …
If the injuries stack up again they’ll be down there the cats most likely, as for the blues they are pretty hyped up. Think they’ll content for the 4 but need to produce the consistency.
Good stuff Riles....you're putting it out there, a lot wouldn't.
11th is a lot higher than most people have us tbh
Yeah that mid table range is where I see the dons. They have quite a bit of upside heading into this year. Bottom 4 seems too low for me, should contend for finals like last season.
Great vid riles! Hopefully the swans have a very good year!🔴⚪
How can you not put david mundy as the rising star 18 seasons he has won it. I think he takes it home again this season too. His retirement wont stop him.
I had him in last years predictions as a matter of fact, gotta change it up every year.
The way people view Melbourne is bizarre to me... I suspect that they'll be that team everybody 'slept' on this year.
It’s why I think they’ll either finish top 4 or miss out on finals. Hard to gauge where they could be because of their talent and off the field issues. Won’t be surprised at all if they retain their spot in the 4, but bold calls have to be made 😅
I feel like Collingwood drop harder than you might think this season. Ive got them in at 6th. Shultz is an inside agent for freo and will sabotage their top 4 hopes
especially how they played against the tigers i have them in 7th
I remember last season everyone had them dropping as well….
Yeah nah
@@JCStorm76 yeah nah yeah
@@Zelmazam1 Will walk into the top 4 again. Possibly even finish top again too
Big fall for the doggies. I think you only focused on the worst of the dogs, but i can see it happening
I agree with that, there is plenty to like for the dogs on the other hand with their high octane forward line, 14th/15th would have to be their absolute floor. Always a log jam with where these teams place.
Richmond finish 17th is what I have as well
Carlton overrated???
Considering the great late run they had last year and a lot of people are having them for grand finalists, they are quite a hyped up team. Think they’ll be a great chance for the top 4 if they can string together a consistent season.
People forget that there fall was worse than the rise. They will still probably be in the 8. A little overrated
Here are my 2024 predictions:
1st: Brisbane (Elite defence, Elite midfield, Elite forward line. They are guaranteed to be the biggest threats of the season. I could see them being undefeated at The Gabba again.)
2nd: Collingwood (Their performance and percentage is Elite as they'll compete for a 17th flag. UP THE PIES!)
3rd: Adelaide (they are THE TEAM to watch in 2024, they have such a powerful Forward line and a home ground advantage. I think they're up there to be minor premiership contenders.)
4th: Carlton (They turned around in the mid-season last year and they WILL be a forced to be reckoned with)
5th: Port Adelaide (Pressure is gonna get to them, but I think they'll start the season 5-0 and be top 4 and premiership contenders)
6th: Melbourne (they're gonna drop, but I don't think they'll drop out of the 8. Their Forward structure issue is serious, but don't doubt on the Dees just yet. I think they'll pull off what Carlton did in the H&A season last year.)
7th: GWS (I don't think they'll rise or fall. I do believe they over-achieved)
8th: Gold Coast (If there's anyone that can change the Suns, it's Dimma, this is their year, they have an experienced coach and the easiest fixture.)
9. St Kilda (lack consistency and lose winnable games. But they are still a serious finals contender. Can they have an elite midfield?)
10. Geelong (They'll have a strong first half of the season, but drop off at the end, finishing with a percentage over 115%)
11. Sydney (Massive inclusions from the trade period but their fixture is sort of difficult. Not to mention no Mills or Parker to start the season. They can literally finish anywhere from 3rd-12th.)
12. Fremantle (I know a lot of people have them bottom 4, but hear me out. Yes they lost Lachie Schultz coming to us, they have a massive hole in the forward line, but there are multiple players, Delean, Emmett, Sturt, that can fill that hole. They have a such talented midfield and backline, they have an easy fixture and I think they'll be fighting for the 8)
13. Essendon (Not falling for the off season trap. They brought 4 key players into the team but how will they fit into the team?)
14. Hawthorn (The rebuild is nearly complete, their forward line is outstanding, but they have a very hard fixture. Especially the first 5 games)
15. Western Bulldogs (Bailey Smith is out for the season, Jack Macrae is in a Race to be fit and I haven't seen any improvement.)
16. Richmond (Two massive superstars retired, difficult first 5 games, and a massive hole in all their positions)
17. North Melbourne (They have probably the HARDEST first half fixture, but they have such young talent and an amazing coach in Clarko and I think next year they'll rise out the bottom 4)
18. West Coast (Their list hasn't improved, and that's about it)
Finals:
QF1: Brisbane def Carlton by 22
QF2: Collingwood def Adelaide by 4
EF1: Port Adelaide def Gold Coast by 10
EF2: Melbourne def by GWS by 16

Big calls for Mark and gold of the year. I feel they are going to Bailey Banfield for both goals and mark. Same highlight
@@Zelmazam1 Come on Banners 😂
Feel like saying the Saints "had some awful performances" last year is really harsh given we only lost 1 game by more than 28 points. Feel like our attack will significantly improve, Membrey and King played 2 games together and only 18 combined, them two healthy alongside adding the kicking ability of Liam Henry will help enormously.
Yeah probably was too harsh of a statement, disappointing performances is more what I meant. Adelaide and Gold Coast losses away, hawks and tigers losses were some at the top of my head that were poor because of their inability to score. You’re on the ball with membrey and king, think if they keep healthy it should help the saints score more this year.
@@RilesMacca yeah I think that’s a better way to phrase it, certainly some very winnable games in there. They’re predictions for a reason 😄
That’s because your game is built around defence, and why Ross Lyon can never win a GF
Good luck with your tips Riles. Either way, I'm looking forward to good footy, tight games and a Swans victory. Cheers mate.
Geeeez!! Some bold calls on the Demons, Doggies, and the Tigers. Ah well, at least your willing to put your proverbial nuts on the line 😂 predictions are just a bit of fun at the end of the day. Impossible to predict sport, otherwise none of us would watch it. Good stuff, mate 👍
Yeah that’s it mate, and to get it horribly wrong in the end 🤣
Great video Riles! However I think you put the Swans 13 places too high 😉
😂😂😂
I understand you're probably just stirring but people never learn regarding the Swans....never write them off, they always prove the doubters wrong. You'll learn mate.
