Wrangling Fowl (September 28, 2024).

These are my Ma’s fowl in Pennsylvania. She maintains a flock of Brown Red from fowl that I bred and brought down from Maine during my years of breeding them.
She raises chicks every year and they mature free range, I manage/help by catching, removing from the flock, bringing some pullets, or by replacing the brood cock.
They’re more wild acting than my fowl, natural selection being a strong mechanism for her yard.
I went down and caught all of her stags and a pullet. It took all weekend.
