This was the last time Trapdoor was played live until last night. It’s been 14 years since they last played it and it was the first time since Josh was in the band. Fucking wild to go back to this all these years later.

Just discovered this song -- having thoroughly saturated myself in Vessel and left wanting more -- these songs are more complex, honest, raw and natural -- Vessel is great but more polished. Tyler is a melodic genius. GENIUS!!!

Tyler has been so deticated to his music for over 11 years. He worked hard to get where he is now and he never took a break (the hiatus doesn't count cause he was working on trench during the hiatus)
The fact that no one clapped and tyler even had to ask them to clap..
Now thousands of people will automatically clap and he doesn't have to say anything.. Thousands of people will be singing back his songs..
People did clap though. I could hear them clapping. At least some people close to the recorder. Keep in mind they were nobodies. A small local band with not even a true following. Maybe some people who liked a song or two but no true fans just yet.

Wish they’d play stuff from the first album more often. Hoping one day Chris and Nick play an oldie or two with them. Wonder how different the band would be if they’d never left.
That would’ve been such a cool concept to do for the 10 year anniversary of self titled. To bring them back for one more tour, from what I know both Chris and Nick still keep contact with Tyler. In fact Nick is their merch manager.!

This is my favorite song ever. Listening to this old live version of it made me cry cause I just love it so much ❤ I would do anything to go back to 2009 and somehow see this beautiful song live.
Amazing to think that in 2009 they were just a band competing in a small venue like this, and now they are out there saving lives (mine included). Thank you so much for Tyler for everything you have created!

At this time, I bet he never thought that the words coming out of mouth, that at the time a few knew, would be known by thousands of people, even millions of people. I actually cried as I sang along to this, thinking about the change.
The only thing that has this performance slightly above the recent one is Nick Thomas on the bass
i noticed that they definitely used the original bass recording from the album from nick on that performance though
