The Derek Hobson promo presumably fed direct from ATV given the presence of the local anno at the end. Shame they managed to miss the start of their own ident though;)
@treffynnon19 Nope, Peter actually joined London Weekend Television during its opening month in August 1968 and around the same time, freelanced for Yorkshire Television. Later, he concentrated on his work for LWT, becoming the first person to broadcast from the company's then-new South Bank Television Centre headquarters on the south bank of the River Thames in 1971. He, Alec Taylor, Dickie Davies and Brian Moore are the only on-air people to have survived LWT’s first few shaky years (1968-1972)
@@chantingmammal yes Peter did have a very distinctive voice on LWT programme's trailers on the network , as I was brought up in the Grampian area & I never saw him in vision, but i certainly heard him, for example, Play your Cars Right, The Professionals ( Grampian would show the trailer for that on Thursday evening at around 10pm ,for a Friday or Saturday transmission circa 1979/80) & Game for a Laugh etc.
One of my earliest memories of LWT continuity. Peter Lewis with the wood panel backdrop. Thanks for the upload.👍🏻
Definitely from the Monkhouse collection, and it’s also listed in the Bob’s full house book
I remember the Alberto shampoo well l used the apple fragrance 😊
42 years ago.
48 years ago actually, James.
I wonder if the wood came direct from Calypso DIY (the 1970's DIY'ers favourite haunt)

The announcer sounded like Joan Palmer
A 16 year-old Sir Lenny Henry on the New Faces trail. Perhaps the only one who achieved some sort of fame afterwards.
Marti Caine was massive as well. She had her own show.
@@pickerim I didn't know she had a great career afterwards.
Lenny Henry cheated on his wife. He is a selfish mean-spirited human being.
@@JohnSmith-su3ze ...or he's a decent human being who made a mistake....bit harsh to judge him on just that
@@anthonybailey1966 There are other awful things that he's done that reflect poorly on his character. It's a pattern I'm afraid.
Didn't even realise Peter Lewis joined as early as that? Thought it was a couple of yaars later, unless freelancing?
