"Will I enjoy seeing this band play live?" Absolutely! Check out what might be their sequel to this song, "DISCIPLE", at their pro-shot Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert from 2022. The energy they bring to their live performance is incredible!

Three sisters from Monterrey, MX. The band started in 2012. They became The Warning in 2013. Today they are Dany, guitarrist 23, Pau, drummer 21, and Ale, bassist 19.
In 2022 they did over 100 gigs in North and South America opening for Foo fighters, Halestorm, the Pretty Reckless, Three Days Grace, and Guns ‘n Roses. In 2023 they did 75 shows in thirteen countries, opening for Muse nine times, opening for Guns and Roses, and playing at the MTV VMAs. In 2024 they will play Shiprock, Tecate P’al Norte Festival in Monterrey, Vive Latino festival in Mexico City, tour Europe, Mad Cool festival in Madrid, and the Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany.
They are classically trained pianists; Dany & Ale have played sax in the past. All three sing lead and background vocals; Dany is the principal singer. They were inspired by the video game Rock Band and two of their songs are available on Rock Band IV. They were on the Ellen Show in 2015.
They are fully bilingual as they attended a bilingual Catholic school in Monterrey, Liceo de Monterrey. Later, all graduated high school through home schooling. They attended Berklee College of Music Summer Program in Boston in 2015.
They started as a cover band; the Enter Sandman cover launched their career. They now have 49 original songs in an EP, three albums, two singles, and two unreleased performed songs. No bad songs. Their newest released single, More, came out May 12th. Two new unreleased songs debuted at their Guadalajara concert. They have a rich collection of live videos, music videos and lyric videos on their channel. There are also vlogs and individual performances.
Their most legendary concerts with professionaly shot video are:
    - Liceo de Monterrey 2015
    - TEDx at University of Nevada Reno 2016 & 2017
    - Dakota Bar 2018
    - Lunario 2018
    - Foro Didi 2019
    - Whisky a Go Go 2019 & 2020
    - Quarantine Concert 2020
    - Teatro Metropolitan CDMX (4K and HD audio) 2022
    - UK private show (acoustic and electric, now public) 2023
When not performing they are humble down to earth individuals. Dany is a goofball and sweetheart, Pau talks with passion like a machine gun, and Ale is an introvert and a perfectionist.
When you fall down The Warning rabbit hole, you can’t go back!!

Guys, you have no idea what's you've walked into. This band's ability to compose a song with unbelievably catchy hooks, while writings some of the most deep and meaningful lyrics at such a young age is a achievement in and of itself. Here's the thing; You haven't even seen them use their other super power (first one is their song writing abilities); performing live. They will fucking blow you away. Great reaction!

The drummer wrote the lyrics in Jr high and the bass player recorded this in the 5th grade! They all finish the verses and music together. Wait until you see the drummer sing lead live, whilst playing intricate parts, like drum rolls and fills. Voted 2023 Best Drummer of the Year.

Best live band I've ever seen. I'm 55. I've been to a gazillion concerts. Nobody's show impacted me any where near the way a The Warning concert does. Please check out their live videos. But even they don't come close to what it is like to be there. Best live rock band. IMO.

Yep you got it right. Such great commentary by these young women.
"We make buildings, but what we need are bridges"
There are a lot of social topics they have addressed in their writing. I really appreciate that they are not just making bubble gum pop. Good rock, with meaningful messages. Thanks for doing this one guys. A favorite of The Warning Army for sure.
Dude, go to their show. They are something special live. I have seen them 7 times in the past two years. Flown more than 10k miles in the US and Mexico to do so. Worth all the effort. The only other band I have traveled this mush to see was Rush. If they are anywhere close to you. go see them.

I thank you for the introduction to these women and their music. I need to listen to this a few more times before I put forth any thoughts, it's been another no sleep night and my head is muzzy. However, I read the lyrics, and between the music and the words, this is some important music. Not just for young people, either. Great song, and great reactions. You were all groovin' with the song, and were really listening for the words, and each of you were dancing your individual dances! Lovely to watch, now I try to nap.

Hope you get some sleep. These 3 sisters are currently ages 23, 21 and 19 and they are celebrating 10 years on stage. We greatly look forward to their upcoming 4th album. In my opinion, they don't have a bad song on their first 3 albums. This song, is the title track for their first album when they were 16, 14 and 12 years old.

Great reaction guys. Subbing. FWIW, they were 17, 15, & 12 when they recorded the song/video. Now 23, 21, and 19. Would you like them live? Heck yeah! I've seen them live 4x and they did not disappoint on any occasion. Crazy nuts energy from the stage. Next best thing for you? Try any song performance from their live show at Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City from August of 2022. It is all available from their RUclips page, and will not be blocked. professional sound and video recording.
DPA do a lot of social issue and mental/emotional health messaging in their music. Options from that show that stay on this general topic would include; Disciple, intra song debate about control exercised over society through social media; Error, AI manipulating humanity to "free" it from control; Evolve, AI seeking help to evolve into something bigger/more dangerous (some would argue with me about this interpretation); Z, a caution about the dangers of group think and conformity; and Kool Aid Kids, addressing the dangers of allowing your thinking to be clouded or controlled through group think/message conformity.
Looking forward to more, The Warning!
    Cheers

Not the usual place to start with The Warning, but still an excellent choice. As I've been saying recently, it's not just their band name, it's their mission statement. Jump ahead to their two MTV VMA performances from last September to see what they look and sound like today. Then try the 22 song professionally recorded concert at the Teatro Metropolitan in CDMX from 2022 to experience a proper live show. Then go buy tickets when they announce their touring schedule for North America, probably late this year, after their next album drops in a few months.

More TWA members will be dropping in with lots of info. These young ladies are amazing song writers, music arrangers, musicians and do not make bad songs. Bootchar's question "Will I enjoy seeing this band play live?", well after seeing them several times, I can say an emphatic YES! Best live band I have seen in decades, I kid you not.
They have their entire show from the Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City in 2022 on their RUclips channel, so I would suggest to just react to it song by song, as all 22 performances are 🔥.

  • @mt4design2
    @mt4design2 8 месяцев назад +18

Welcome to The Warning guys. You picked a great one to react to for your first reaction, but I can say that honestly about every song they've written. They have NO bad songs and they're absolutely incredible live. GREAT reaction. Pau (Pow), the drummer, has become more refined in her drumming but still hits very hard. They're headlining their own concerts at upwards of 1 1/2 to 2 hours so it's just necessary...and she also sings lead in several songs.
    Where to start?
There's an early EP when they were 14, 12 and 9, and then 3 albums, two singles and their own version of Enter Sandman...there is a ton of content you need to check out. They just celebrated 10 years as a band.
Actually, check out their cover of Enter Sandman that went viral in 2014 and has nearly 26 million views that got them noticed, then watch their Metallica Blacklist version of ES live at Teatro Metropolitan (absolute masterpiece, true artistry), and then their recent MTV VMA performances of More and Evolve from a few months ago.
Or, you could react to their second album, Queen of the Murder Scene, is a brilliant concept album written in chapters when they were teenagers. I suggest watching when they debuted it live at Lunario.
Want to know what got them started? Check out their TedX presentations from 2016 and 2017, and then the two recent documentaries, Tidal Rising and Mayday in the Making.
If that piques your interest you should jump right in to their August 29, 2022 live concert at the Teatro Metropolitan...song by song. It's a glimpse into their entire catalog and most songs are off their 3rd album Error.
What ever you do, and what ever you pick, you're just going to love them. They're great songwriters, great performers, and most importantly, great role models and great people.

These girls are also humble and easy-going people, who don't take themselves too seriously, despite (some of) the heavy topics their lyrics deal with. Rather than present an illusion that they have done it all by themselves, they have always credited their parents for nurturing their talents and love for music from an early age. And today, their team - from their management, to their techs, engineer, and even bus driver - are all part of their extended family, and are prominently featured in their regular behind the scenes footage that they post. It's all very wholesome in an age of self-absorbed and surface-level-only celebrities.

*XXI Century Blood* (21st Century Blood)
i always wonder how many others notice the number on the indoctrination pod the baby is placed into... many of us think it may be a shout out to YES and their 1983 album 90125 which was released two years after Yes broke up... you can find a few links to that album in its entirety... not really a music video as it is only the music... it is a great trip back in time... oh! the MV for the first song on that YES album also has a similar theme with culprits and recovery agents...
so back to this video... yes, the imagery is awesome and extremely thought provoking... there's a lot being said in there... one of the main things is about taking a leap of faith and leaving things behind... this is absolutely a song about social media and how it affects people in ways they don't even know... in this case, everyone is so wrapped up in social media that they cannot see what is going on around them... thus the blindfolds... the video was nominated for and won numerous awards back in 2017...
    - LA CINEFEST Semifinalist 2017
    - Feel The Reel IFF, Audience Award October 2017
    - Official Selection Austin Music Video Festival 2017
    - Best Music Video Nominee Pantalla de Cristal Festival 2017
    - I Filmmaker International Film Festival Official Selection 2017
    - Best Script / Narrative Music Videos Pantalla de Cristal Festival 2017
    - Best Music Video Around Films International Film Festival Barcelona April 2017
(not listed in any specific order)
anyway, great reaction... yes, you're not the only one to be totally shocked at that one point in the video! 😹

This is from their first album, and they've since released two more - including a full concept album. They're a killer live band, with several full shows on their channel, including a full playthrough of that concept album when it first debuted in 2018. Their full concert from 2022 at the Teatro Metropolitan is their though masterpiece. They are always best heard live, and the TM show is the best place to start.
The drummer Pau (POW!) is their main songwriter, as well as a powerhouse drummer and vocalist, and sometimes sings lead (some of my faves tbh). They have several songs that deal with tech and society, including Disciple, Z, Kool Aid Kids (my fave), and Error. Regardless of the subject matter, their lyrics are always as strong as their music.
These girls have captured the hearts of so many old school rock fans. I wrote them off as a gimmick for years (they first went viral when the bass player was 9!), until I finally gave them a chance a year ago. Since then I've been a huge fan - few bands have impacted me as much as they have. Reminds me of how I felt as a Kiss fan as a child, tbh.

I'm so glad that you got to The Warning. I see TWA (The Warning Army) has already shown up in the comments so I'll try not to repeat too much of what's already been said. They're genius song writers and arrangers and I haven't heard an original of theirs yet that I didn't like. I believe that they were 16, 14 and 12 when they wrote this song. At some point you need to check out the music video of their reimagined cover of Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara and also the live version from the Teatro Metropolitan concert (there's also a cover that they did when they were very young that went viral). As many have said, they're absolutely amazing live so you must check out some of their live performances. Anything from the Teatro Metropolitan concert in Mexico City, August of 2022 is great. The video and audio recordings were professionally done and are very high quality. They also performed two of their songs at the MTV VMA's last September. I'd start with Evolve and then listen to More. I'm with you and want to see them live, so hopefully they'll tour the USA this year.

This is the title cut to their self produced full length debut album. The second self produced album was a concept album called Queen of the Murder scene. Very ambitious for a group of teenage girls. The drummer you love (Pau) is the creative force and primary songwriter. But they all work together to create all the instrumental parts. The latest album, Error, was after signing with Lava Records. The Teatro concert features most of the tracks from that album. Lots of social commentary and some relationship songs you’d expect from young women. They will resurrect Rock music for their generation

This video won or was nominated for about a half dozen independent film and music video awards. The drummer (Paulina, or "Pau" pronounced, appropriately enough, "Pow") has improved her technique quite a bit, keeping the power but with much less of the flailing arms. She also sings lead on 20% or so of their songs; she practices singing on a treadmill to improve both stamina and stability.

Dany the eldest is a PRS and FENDER artist also Lizzy Hale gifted her an Explorer by Gibson, along with Matt Belamy from Muse also gifting her a Manson guitar, To give you an Idea how good they are Ale the bassist was in the 4th. grade when they recorded this Album they said in an interview with Allison Hagendorf all 3 sisters are 5 years apart, Pick ANY song from the THEATRO METROPOLITAN CDMX concert blind folded and I guarantee you will not be dissapointed THE WHOLE CONCERT IS EPIC!!!! May I suggest the small concert (3 songs) for a TedX in I believe in 2017. Do the second concert. They were 17, 15, and 12 during the second TedX. The drummer is the ideas girl providing most lyrics, song plots and some rifts. She is a poet and she's an entertainer and recently receive an award for best up and coming drummers. Paulina (Pau pronounced Pow) also sings while playing the drums which not many drummers can do. She's just amazing.

One of their more recent compositions, "Error", is told from the perspective of AI. (The binary code they sing spells 'free') The song is a rocker, and I suggest the live version of 'Error' from the Teatro Metropolitan concert of 2022.
Daniela's voice has improved - she has the pipes! For this song the bassist, Alejandra, switches between finger-style and using a pick, and the drummer, Paulina is always on fire with backing vocals and great fills.
Here's hoping you continue with The Warning.

they were 18-16-13 years at time! These girls are astonishing, believe me! I'm 62 and far from 20 years i'haven't seen a rock band so tight and powerful as this power trio! The lyrics are always very deep meaning, Their 80/90 Classic Rock School vibe is refreshing for these times and for me this represent a strong hope for the future of youngest generations! Support them! Their catalog it's about 50 songs, now, and trust me i haven't heard ONE that i dislike! Simply stunning for so young girls! Think about they are 23/21/18 today and they have 10 years career now! Let's check much more of them and The Warning Army worldwide will follow you in this fantastic journey!

They played 2 songs "More" and "Evolve" at the MTV VMAs last year. Consider putting those on your watch list.
I also recommend the Teatro Metroplitan full concert. Either as a live stream or going song by song. A lot of comments and recommendations will be for songs from that concert. May as well get into the flow and feel of the concert itself.

Thanks guys for reacting to The Warning. I see that The Warning Army is already here, giving you all the information about the band. As Bootchar says, you need to see them on stage and as many have recommended, the best for this is the Metropolitan CDMX presentation, because it is a professional quality recording in image and sound.

I am an Angelina Jordan fan as well and I love The Warning. You can call me an Army Angel. You might think this is an odd combo, but they both are retro. The Warning has modern lyrics but the music is what I loved when I was younger in the 70s and 80s rock. And Angelina is retro with a modern twist on her original songs. Anyway I love them both.

A once in a generation phenomenon. I saw them live 6 weeks ago in Tijuana where they started with Disciple. Ale’s bass kicked me in the chest and knocked me over, then Pau beat me over the head with her drums and then Dany finished me off by slaying me with her guitar and vocals. You've been Warned. Once you go down The Warning rabbit hole, there's no way out - like Black Holes (which is one of my favorite songs of theirs). These ladies are the real deal

Listening to this song I realized that this was not just a cute little garage band. They play their instruments well, they are phenomenal song writers and not afraid to pour their thoughts out there to the world. Remember they were extremely young when they wrote this. The bass player was just 12 yrs old at this time. This was their very first music video other than Dad shot video. I thought it was excellent by any standards. Catch their August 29, 2022 concert at Teatro Metro in CDMX. Pro shot some nd and video. Best live concert I have ever seen. Oh, I am 69 yr old also. Been to a lot of concerts. These ladies bring it!

Somehow my two favourite drummers over the years have always been Tommy Lee and Dave Grohl. Dave beats the absolute hell out his drums, and Tommy is a hard hitter, who played very memorable parts, and was a great showman. Pau reminds me of both of them. Pau is a killer. And she's also my new favourite.

Guys - thanks for your reaction to this band and this song/video. It was very interesting to see you 4 engage and discuss this! As you will soon see (and probably already are seeing) several thousand TWA members (myself included) will enter your channel and give you many great takes and insights about this terrific band). As many will mention, the most direct route to seeing what these 3 sisters can do currently is for you to seek out and review any and all songs from their Teatro Metropolitan CDMX (Mexico City) concert from August 2022. It is a magnificent pro-shot performance (4K and HD audio level quality). Also, many will suggest you start with Disciple which I agree has a message very analogous to XXI Century Blood.

Enjoy this journey, 1000’s are excited to join you!

Great 1st reaction to The Warning!
The Villarreal-Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers from Mexico who live in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards.
Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards.
Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND"; and it is amazing.
Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage.
After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020.
They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track! They are even better LIVE -
    ruclips.net/video/Wo0odllVq8g/видео.htmlsi=h1wzuqkzRK-b1uK6
They have recently finished recording their 4th studio album: no name or release date yet.
The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock.
Both parents are professionals (recording engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English Bilingual school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico.
They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old.
Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC.
When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. Shortly thereafter they got real instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 23, 21 and 19 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #46 original songs (and recently finished recording their 4th studio album). They recently performed 2 songs at the MTV VMA's.
I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. I had the opportunity to meet with them 3 more times during the 10 shows I attended on their 2022 North American MAYDAY Tour and 2023 ERROR WORLD TOUR.
Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans.
    🗣 Subscribed!

I like reactors who care about lyrics of a song. After a long, long time we have a band that is saying something substantial consistently. And its not only what they are saying but also how they are saying it. Through profound metaphorical poetry, The Warning have been delivering insightful messages for a decade about the times they are living in. The drummer, their main lyricist, is Dylan-esque in her metaphors & almost as dark as Roger Waters in her thoughts. Such is their intellectualism that they produced a concept album called Queen of the Murder Scene, as their 2nd LP, in 2018 aged 18, 16 & 13. How many bands have dared to write a concept album in their 2nd attempt at the studio?

Please react to one of their later live performances from teatro metroplitan cdmx in august 2022… pro shot pro audio fully live, no pitch correction etc, a handful of back track guitars or keys since they are a power trio but they play every part we hear whether live or in the track… and insane performers… and in that concert they were 22, 20, 17 years old (guitar, drums, bass)… and write their own music and lyrics… truly authentic real rock group like in the old days

I won't repeat what everyone else said, but these girls hooked me a couple of years ago and I've never looked back. Many say they are the finest young rock power trio of females to hit the scene in 10 or 20 years! They have exploded internationally, appeared recently on the VMA awards, have headlined for up to 8,000 people in Mexico, and have opened for such bands as Foo fighters, Muse, guns and roses, and halestorm. They just celebrated their 10th anniversary as a band and they are still only 23, 21, and 19! Mexican sisters.
I highly recommend to start your journey, reacting to their 2017 performance and appearance on the TEDx talks at the University of Nevada. You will hear part of their story and also three songs from their first album. Then you may want to jump to the present.

The next logical step here is Disciple from their 2022 Teatro Metropolitan show, or really any song from there. But Disciple is just a banger.
Also their performance of Evolve on the MTV VMAs a few months ago, where they played a second stage, online-only, two-song set, to a room full of pop and rap fans. The screams during the breakdown make it clear that they won the whole crowd over, and earned them many new fans. The best performance of the whole VMAs wasn't even broadcast. Never change MTV smh.
