My father fought in Kargil war , if any Pakistani reading my comments then I want to say that all the dead soldiers were buried properly with Islamic way and many molvis were brought from Jammu and Kashmir for the funeral and 2 molvis were in my father’s command came and performed the rituals . My father still wakes up in the midnight because of the horrors he had seen in Kargil . He told me about a Pakistani soldiers who were crying loudly because of injury and he knew that he is going to die so he was calling for his mom in panjabi accent , and my father said “ I want to visit his mother and want to console her that your son fought bravely and he is buried properly but saddest thing is that , his mother never got chance to know what happened to her son and how he died and pak army never claimed their bodies .
Every solder deserve respect. Pakistani brave solders entered in Indian territory hold Kargil Hills but had to come back on ceasefire due to America pressure . when they were coming Pakistan, shoot from back. some solders even denied to come back and disowned by Pak army and even declared terrorist.

And by the way, American pressure came much later before which our Indian troops had captured many hills despite Pakistanis sitting on top. But there were heavy face to face gun fights between Indians and Pakistani soldiers in Kargil war. You can verify that from Independent sources.
Your Troops were occupying commanding heights where it was said that they could take headshots at 18000 ft at 85 degree inclination and India cannot retake those heights as it was a death mission but tiger hill was the major turning point. Idiotic Musharraf thought that Indian army could not hold that pressure on Kargil hills. Would try to attack on another front that it would result in violation, increased international pressure due to Nuclear weapons. But Both political & military co- ordinated well limited our attack only on Kargil hills which didn't had any violation for international border. But I salute our brave soldiers who climbed 70-80 degree steep of mountains 17000 feet heights recaptured those territory's. It is one of the remarkable achievement.

There is a difference. In 1971, the war was fought in B'desh plains, riverine. The enemy had a chance to surrender, which they did. While in Kargil, enemy had intruded and occupied heights of the mountainous Kargil , Dras and Batalik. The natural way to reoccupy Indian army positions was to surround each height and block the enemy's escape and supply lines, thereby killing them. Entire NLI was completely decimated in Kargil, mostly dead, some surrendered, and rest had to retreat. I agree with ma'am, Pakstan must have lost more soldiers in Kargil than in B'desh war, but this has to do with the terrain and remember, Pakistan had occupied Indian positions, Indian forces were bound to attack strongly. Just to use this forum to give my salute to all fallen soldiers, on both sides, I assure the families of the NLI soldiers whose bodies were not received by the Pakistan Army, your warrior was laid to rest with full Islamic and military honor by the Indian army. A lot of struggle took place with each country taking a chunk of the region in offensives, Pakistan advanced quite greatly in the initial attempt. But then stalled and lost ground in the Indian counteroffensive. The ceasefire came when the Indian counteroffensive was in full swing. Thats why India has more ground. Claiming One army is better than another is stupid. Its morale, equipment, logistics, and strategy that counts. The martial caste arrangement that Pakistan's army had in place when it separated from greater India is what took its toll in the first 3 major wars. Pakistan has reorganised now I believe.

After 50 years from today, when we discuss these wars in history, we will probably laugh. Why were we fighting? People of the same culture, species fought because we were Hindu Muslims. In the third step, India was asked to appoint a plebiscite administrator nominated by the United Nations who would conduct a free and impartial plebiscite.

My father fought in Kargil war , if any Pakistani reading my comments then I want to say that all the dead soldiers were buried properly with Islamic way and many molvis were brought from Jammu and Kashmir for the funeral and 2 molvis were in my father’s command came and performed the rituals . My father still wakes up in the midnight because of the horrors he had seen in Kargil . He told me about a Pakistani soldiers who were crying loudly because of injury and he knew that he is going to die so he was calling for his mom in panjabi accent , and my father said “ I want to visit his mother and want to console her that your son fought bravely and he is buried properly but saddest thing is that , his mother never got chance to know what happened to her son and how he died and pak army never claimed their bodies .

Pakistani brave solders entered in Indian territory hold Kargil Hills but had to come back on ceasefire due to America pressure . when they were coming Pakistan, shoot from back. some solders even denied to come back and disowned by Pak army and even declared terrorist.

There is a difference. In 1971, the war was fought in B'desh plains, riverine. The enemy had a chance to surrender, which they did. While in Kargil, enemy had intruded and occupied heights of the mountainous Kargil , Dras and Batalik. The natural way to reoccupy Indian army positions was to surround each height and block the enemy's escape and supply lines, thereby killing them. Entire NLI was completely decimated in Kargil, mostly dead, some surrendered, and rest had to retreat. I agree with ma'am, Pakstan must have lost more soldiers in Kargil than in B'desh war, but this has to do with the terrain and remember, Pakistan had occupied Indian positions, Indian forces were bound to attack strongly.

I am sorry but forgiving the Pakistani Leadership is just not possible. Time and again the Indian leadership has attempted to improve the relationship, even before the Kargil incident , our PM went to Pakistan. But as usual some people took advantage of our honesty. Right now all we can do is to stop interfering in each others internal matters and do whatever we can to fight against poverty. But any kind of interactions be it sports, art, academic, industry - its just not acceptable any more. You are on your own and I hope your country would be able to get out China's debt trap one day.

They never thought that the Indian Army were prepared to take losses but were more focussed on dislodging the Pak Army occupying the heights and their proxies dressed in pyjamas.The pounding they suffered from the Bofors gun led to wholesale chaos and senior Pak Army officers failed those they sent to their death hoping all of the Pak soldiers and irregulars would be dead and Pakistan denied their existence

In the first step, Pakistan was asked to withdraw all its nationals from Kashmir. In the second step, India was asked to progressively reduce its forces to the minimum level required for law and order. In the third step, India was asked to appoint a plebiscite administrator nominated by the United Nations who would conduct a free and impartial plebiscite.
