I wouldn't even consider them connected, the show badly diverged from the source material.

ok riddle me this - they are in a SUB-light speed ship and are travelling to a planet that is 50 thousand LIGHT years away - how are they able to reach it in 800 days? In fact how could they reach it in less than 50 thousand light years at all?
Pbs recons it depends on where the observer is standing.
they were on a jump ship but need time to prepare for the environment...they traveled sub light speed until they were somewhat prepared and then jumped... why it was said it is not a jump ship is because of AppleTV not trying their best

Out of the blue Tyrannids attack. Unexpectedly Space Marines come screeching in with their drop pods. (This would of been epic!)

Exactly right. They always screw up the plots so much that it bears nothing to the original story.
I had just finished reading Altered Carbon when Netflix came out with their terrible version. They threw away about 70% of the actual story plot.
Maybe with all the development of A.I. based arts, we can ask it to make a movie consistent with the real story someday.

despite your amazing synthesys and narrative skills, this show remains dull as a river rock.
That is why my script remains in my mind until fully completed, sent to copyright them out to the movie jungle to be picked up to be produced. James Cameron's days are numbered and so are that of the purportedly entertaining comic book movies. :)

I have read every Foundation Book ever written, but it has been a few decades. Is it just me or is this Series completely different from anything ever written or conceived? It feels like Disney's fingerprints are all over it.
Yes, the series does not reflect the books at all. It does appear that has been wokenfied, and unfortunately, the series does not hold up to the books. I don't know why corporate entities insist on destroying good works.

yep, it has the parts in it, just not in the original or even a remotely sensible order and way, plus all the current bs that must be in this kind of shit in the current era. we are clearly in an era when writing stories no longer done by actually writing stories, just recompiling the old ones in 'new' light. oh, wait, this was one of the story point of the original on how you can clearly see that the empire is decaying and will turn into a barbaric dark age...

That's the point. Regardless of technology, they're operating in a manner that's reminiscent of medieval Europe. A monarchy is essentially a dictatorship.

So they are traveling 10,000 light years in a sub-light speed vessel and the trip will take 800 days?… yeah no. A light year is the distance it takes light ( traveling at light speed) to travel in 1 year’s time.

a lightyear is both a specified speed and distance, so if you are traveling 50,000 LY with a sub lightspeed drive, then the absolute fastest you could get there is in 50k years and like 1 sec. if it does not take you more then 1 year to travel the distance of 1 LY, then you are by definition not a sub lightspeed drive.

If you've read the books, you'll note where the series diverges, but all in all, it's still a pretty enjoyable watch.
With as vast and encompassing as the Foundation book series is, no TV adaptation is ever going to do it justice.
