Hi just stumbled upon you! I love how u explain why. I'm 41 been getting em done for YEARS. I'm not a pro but I do know a lil. U absolutely have no idea what has been used and that is so dangerous. Plus omg seeing the damage 💔 I never thought about different techniques and the damage. That's brilliant!
Thank you! Yeah it’s super eye opening once I learned the information in school and then bc I do soak offs I see a wide array of techniques and products etc and it’s crazy! That’s why I think it’s silly that ppl think school is a waste of money and that soak offs are a waste of time😭 that’s how you learn to educate clients and see what not to do lol
I have heard a lot of nail techs say the same thing due to the same reasons. Honestly the only good thing that came out of covid is me learning how to do my nails. Im not brave enough to try acrylics (yet) but i have all the stuff 😅
Yes this was from a nail salon and unfortunately 9/10 times nail shops use it bc it’s super cheap and available at local supply stores. But some “self taught” techs use it as well especially bc they see it in the store and might be uneducated 😭 so it’s just crazy from the foreign stuff I’ve seen Omg
Makes sense. As a stylist I would never style someone else's hair over a previous style that I didn't do. I don't know what products were used prior, and I don't know how those products will interact with the products I use. I also want to access the person hair and scalp- so I'm gonna start with a clean canvas to prevent any issues down the line
It's illegal here, and yes ma'am!!!!!! I require the same. I literally had one last week. It took over an hour to remove everything safely 😢 and she had gorgeous natural nails.
I’ve been dibbling n dabbling and doing my own nails at home and ik as a beginner if I were to go to a nail tech they gone be like “omg who did this technique on u” 😩💀😅
Tbh we see so many things and so many ppl play on their nails😂🤷🏽♀️ only thing is when ppl cause damage and I turn them away that’s when they realize this is more serious then they thought lol but don’t be nervous to go to someone! They might ask questions bc that’s what you should be doing as a tech to get that past history so we know how to proceed!
@@Nailsbyprettyface so update! I just got my nails done and one of the techs said they looks so nice and it gave me a lot of confidence and the person who did my nails did a nice technique when applying the acrylic bead can’t wait to try so I’m glad I went 🥺
Wow, some of these comments! Their momma must not have taught them that if ya ain't got anything nice to say DONT SAY NUTHIN! I personally don't like duck nails for myself, but her nails look great! She did an Awesome job.
Did you do your set? The design is really cute! 😍 it makes a lot of sense to start from scratch with foreign work. You need to know what you're getting into.
Yes I did ! Thanks 😊 and yes foreign work is just a hassle and doesn’t make you any more talented just bc you can transform it it’s a health/safety hazard 😭
@nailsbyprettyface yes! Also, from the customer's perspective, I would want to know WHAT tech messed up my natural nails. It's not a mystery when you start fresh.
That's actually the same reaction I got when I soaked off mine yesterday 😮 I went to a different nail tech last week by my friends and was not happy at all with the outcome so decided to take it off myself so there was a blank canvas for me to get them done myself. And that is EXACTLY what it was like, all goopy and sticky and just plain hard work to do!! It took a lot longer to do than I thought it would and was really exhausting, it took me so long to do too... Thanks for this video though because now I know it wasn't anything to do with how I was doing it 😊
No it’s the acrylic itself lol I have other removal/ soak off videos on my channel that specifically show how to properly do a soak off but basically anything as long as the liquid is ema then your fine! But som brands are better than others but that part is just budget and preference !
This happened to me and my one pointer nail is still recovering. Havent had a nail on it in 4 months😢 3 nails hace damage to the hyponychium ans i have nail eczema (not the proper term lmao)now on 3 nails
Hi! Just a curious question. I'm sorry, im not that good in english since it isn't my main language but i just wanna know, why is the fake gel nail not fully covering the orig nail like there an excess or something below, near the skin. I'm sorry i don't know how to say it 😅
Is it a real question? Do you mean the naitech nails or the clients? The client had outgrouth. The Nail grows from your cuticle, pushing the product out from your cuticle. If you ask about the techs nails..you should never lay product so it touches your cuticle. It should be as close to as you can...but not Touch. You can develop allergies if it does that to much. If.. This was a honest question thats why.
By the look ! As I was explaining in the video it will look weird when soaking off but the container will be labeled either mma or ema ! Also it smells really sweet and when you file it it smells different as well! But most of the time salons get this in person at the nail supply bc since it’s illegal you won’t see too many places online outright selling it
Exactly. Never go to New Carrollton to get your nails done. They don’t know what the hell they’re doing whoops, sorry maybe some of them but the lady I had she messed up my nails oh my nails in them having a split across my natural nails . They fine now. I wouldn’t recommend going to the New Carrollton‘s nail salon in Maryland.
@@Nailsbyprettyface was making a joke. I do my own nails and did my grandma’s (gel) once and while she liked them, I kept telling her I didn’t have the proper skills or equipment , and they ended up lasting only half the time of her normal manicures. Didn’t do anything unsafe though tbf.
@@Nailsbyprettyface like, the style isnt gonna be everyones cup of tea (but your nails, your choice, pay them no mind) But clearly its high quality work ❤
It’s actually the techniques that destroy nails! Bad techniques will do harm wether there’s a tip or not but I’m glad you were able to grow them healthily bc nails ain’t a joke !!
Ohhhh wooooow 😮 I’d definitely be reporting back to that shi nail salon and letting them know about their self . I couldn’t imagine the bacteria build up if she’d left those on any longer then what she did 😳
Yeah I could instantly tell this set had at least been filled twice but I was unprepared for how many rings she had underneath ! Like dang ik it hurts every time you go to them 😭
Lol yeah! I typically do my nails when I have like 2 days off in a row so I enjoy them looking nice for about a week and then they get beat up due to water, acetone, polish 😂 my nails grow quickly tho so I need a fill at about 2.5 weeks and by 4 weeks new set fasho lol
It’s a type of monomer that should not be used! It’s technically banned but it can still be bought in nail supply stores etc. very poor quality as shown in this video !
Yuppers! And gel nails or acrylics Should not be immediately applied over the nail. The nail should be left in its natural state so that it can breathe, air out…basically to heal a bit before more product is applied on it
Luckily this client didn’t get nails right away😂 she came another day and she’s just fine yall lol like literally this video is just showing s soak off
Omg i dont blame u.. i do the same however i file them down before soaking them.. and who uses mma still? Isnt that illegal to use on other people. U can on urself but never anyone else!! And i would be pissed if my nails ever looked like this underneath!!!
Yes I file them too! lol you have to or you’d be there foreverrrrr but yeah mma I’d technically illegal but it’s super easy to get lol you can just go to the nail supply haha
I mean wow 😂 I really hope your nails are in perfect condition bc y’all are really Bold trying to Come up w stuff y’all think gone hurt my feelings😂 thanks for the views lmao
So that’s the only thing you are wrong about this video 😂 you don’t trust me bc of my duck nails but the damage this client endured from a previous tech makes no difference 😂that’s backwards
I am happy I started doing my own. There was so much damage from going to salons that over filed my nails. No more rings of fire.
Yeah it’s a serious issue 😭 and even outside of nail shops I see lots of private techs are doing the same thing to clients unfortunately
Yeah I’ve been teaching myself now I can control the cleanliness and products used

This client needs a fill as the fake nails have grown out lol
What do you call them wode toebox nails?? I love them
I’m Not sure what toebox nails are 😭
I believe you’re referring to the tech nails, those are duck tips or flare tip nails.
