You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of sound. A dimension of sight. A dimension of mind. You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You’ve just crossed over into…The Twilight Zone.

Piece of trivia ... before entering the 5th dimension corridor there was supposed to be an effect (cut for time and budget) where the car seemed to be flipping onto its back. So traveling through the corridor you're supposed to be looking UP at the sky, which opens up and swallows you. If you look to the sides, you'll notice all the lamps and signs are indeed hanging sideways to match this cancelled effect.

7:15 Every time somebody mentions the cable attached to the vehicle they describe it as “weightlessness,” however this isn’t true. If the product was weightlessness (aka zero Gs) then gravity would be all that’s necessary, but zero Gs tends to be more fun than intense. What they wanted is called _ejector_ airtime (or negative Gs) which is much more intense, but isn’t called weightlessness anymore, cause it actually weighs a negative amount

Can't imagine they'll pull the sponsorship just before the new tv show. You can't buy publicity like that !!! Well, YOU can't, but Disney probably can. Anyway, if they would develop the story line a little more, it could be more specific about why it all is happening. They could put it at the end, just like an episode of... The Twilight Zone.

I remember going on this as a kid (with the lap bar, not the seatbelt) and being too young to know what the Twilight Zone was other then hearing the name before, it did such a wonderful job portraying the fear of the unknown and letting your imagination take it from there. As a little kid, I was terrified and still get creeped out thinking about the ride today, something I can't say about pretty much anything anymore.
To the fat woman who sat next to me and my sister causing the safety bar to be far, far away from my tiny legs, I salute you for instilling in me true, "holy crap I'm in actual trouble here" fear for twenty seconds.

Honestly as an adult I still don't quite understand how it was safe and no one ever got hurt. It was interesting to learn in this video that they replaced the bars with actual seatbelts, so maybe it wasn't completely safe?

They should never re-theme this attraction. I do agree that, with the new CBS Twilight Zone, they should do an episode about the "Tower of Terror", and maybe update the ride to include some tie-ins with that, but that's as far as it should be taken. While Guardians: Mission Breakout! is phenomenal, the original ToT shouldn't be messed with.

Interesting part about the elevators being "remote control cars" because that might be how/why my dad and I got stuck at the end of the Tower of Terror in 2015! It may have gone off the track and had to be reset. The ride went on as normal and we moved a few feet forward to the exit at the end, but then it stopped. The Rod Sterling voice at the end repeated what it said a few times until they turned the lights on and the music off and we sat there for 15 minutes. We were offered another ride but had to go on another elevator to go on! It

My first time on the ToT was in Paris in October 2019, days after the "New Dimension Of Thrills". I was there with my sister who loves this ride, but with the new ride profiles (we ended up getting The Shaft Creatures) meant it was new to her too. It frightened the bejaysus out of me. I had seen ride through videos before (and even Half Life 2 mods that recreate the ride), plus my dad and sisters recounting of the experience of the Florida version, so I knew the ride vehicle moves back before going up to the hallway scene. Not anymore! you go back and are instantly flung up and down before the hallway scene, then again before the 5th Dimension scene. But now it's 100% in the dark until you get the tiny slivers of light in the main shaft. For the ride scenes we saw, only the little girl was visible in the hallway, warning us not to scream or "they" might find us. Interestingly enough, although the Twilight Zone is said to be "the Fifth Dimension" throughout the show, the French name is "le Quartieme Dimension", literally meaning the 4th Dimension.

This is my favorite Disney attraction in Hollywood studios. One time, we entered the attraction, not thinking anything bad was going to happen. Of course, typical crowd. What made this certain ride unique? Well, it was because... while in the pre-show, whenever it said “The Twilight Zone,” some park guest said, “THE DEATH STAR!” Of course we had a good laugh. But then the unthinkable happened. We get on the elevator. We go to the first show scene. When we reach the one part, right when the lights pull to the opposite sides... poof! We disappeared into the literal Twilight Zone. Nothing but darkness. For a straight 20 minutes. Of course, after the darkness, came... very little light. The E-lights came on. We waited at LEAST 15 minutes. Then they announce, “Are you guys ready to drop?” OF COURSE! And these drops were very special! They lasted twice as long as the random ones! Once off the ride, we were taken backstage to ride again. This time, we entered a different elevator. One not normally used... by park guests. Of course, someone in the elevator asked, “Is it going to drop to?” We did another laugh. This next ride took us the same amount of time, and we took it. And guess what? That Frozen Fireworks show was going on! It looked so cool, riding Tower of Terror, WITH FIREWORKS!!! That was in 2014. I was born in 2004, and I’m now 15. I’m a huge Disney Nerd. Best memory of this ride. I love this attraction and all the other extinct attractions!

This is my favorite Disney ride, It's a must ride everytime I go. When I went last December, the bell hop asked for 3 passengers, so my mom, sis and I were went up to the front. He saw my sis was in a wheelchair, and he broke character for a second and asked me if she could transfer. I said yes and when she got up, he moved the wheelchair aside and went back into his creepy bellhop persona, it was great

One of my FAVORITE rides....I think they should keep it as is, the theme is GREAT, always enjoy looking at the different items in the lobby. They could change the drops to keep it fresh but the theme can stay the same.

Loving the content you put out! Super insightful. Tower of Terror has long been one of my favorite rides at the park and I've enjoyed seeing the evolution of it. My eyes lit up when you mentioned a restaurant possibility associated with the ride. There's so much potential if only they can create the space for it!

This was great! One thing I wished you talked about, the music. It's so creepy yet nostalgic and creates the perfect feeling while you're waiting to get on the ride. Who decided on the music and how did they create it? Were they influenced by "The Shining"?
    Two other things:
-I had no idea some of the antiques were real. That's really cool.
-Disney REALLY loved Gilbert Godfried in the 90s.

Around 2008 I was part of the final group to ride the ToT before it was closed due to bad weather for that day. Upon exiting the gift shop, I turned to actually see lightening strike the top of the building, along with a huge cracking sound. How interesting it would be, I thought, if lightening were to strike while people were riding it, as depicted in the ride's pre-show, causing the "elevator" to drop, thus creating actual ghosts in the building! Of course this would require the guests on the ride to exit this realm of existence, but whatever, there's too many people in this world anyway.

I have ridden this ride my entire life and I am obsessed with it. It’s so good and the lap bar was a wild time. My mom would put her leg over mine to keep me in my seat. The seat belts were a great addition but a nostalgic part of me misses the lap bar, even though I was always terrified as a child😅

I only rode it one time as The Tower of Terror in California when I was 5 years old. It scared me so bad I never rode it again. Then is was re-themed to Guardians of the Galaxy and I rode it again, I enjoyed it more this time but it was still scary. I hope I get the chance to go to Disney world and ride the Tower or Terror there.

You're taking a vacation from normality. The setting: a weird motel where the bed is stained with mystery. And there's also some mystery floating in the pool. Your key card may not open the exercise room because someone smeared mystery on the lock. But it will open....... the Scary Door.

I definitely liked the darkshow aspect of Tower of Terror, but found the drop shaft portion to be quite a bit shorter than Mission: Breakout. The whole theming of Mission: Breakout just made it stand out way more for me that Tower of Terror. My hope though is with the new show coming out, that Disney will invest in updating the dark show portions

Noooooooooooo I love love love the attention to detail in the landscape, architecture, and lobby... like, I didn't know that I wanted a veranda and loved architecture as a whole. Omg the pond in the front with the beautiful tiles and art deco accent lights are to DIE FOR!
Also, the movie deserves a little bit more attention because it is messed up for what it is, coming from Disney, so it gives me the giggles super hard. And the cast!
But seriously..... the interior/exterior design and execution is *to die for* lol
The ride deserves an update of love; upgrading effects.... I mean, it has had to carry that park, along with rock'n roller coaster, for sooooooooo many years because of how 'meh' that park was (I haven't been since star wars land was added, so idk if it helped any). So with that being said, that is why I believe that it shouldn't be rebranded with a new IP. Hell, great time to use the marvel license, buy more thrill rides, slap hero logos on them, and connect it to whatever 'studio' land is called at the moment and $$$ 🤷‍♀️ more thrills, more IP whoring, and the pre-teens/teens of the family vacation will stop complaining about how boring that park is, just saying 😂🎉❤

Otherwise keep doing what your doing, I love em!

You'd never catch me on this ride, not because I am squeamish about watching scary movies mind, but because I hate the "stomach in mouth" feeling sudden vertical drops give you. Still, I was really sad when the California version of the Tower of Terror closed and was re-themed to Guardians of the Galaxy. That is one of my least favorite Marvel properties because of the aggressive shipping between Star Lord and Gamora in the movies, not to mention the fact that the enormity of their situation is NEVER taken seriously (Damn you Starlord! Your mix tape isn't even that good.)

I'm a fan of the old TV show and love how Rod Serling is integrated into this ride. Disney pays a pretty hefty amount in licensing to CBS so I'm sure it's inevitable that Rod Serling and the Twilight Zone references will be removed in the future. When this happens, it's going to hurt my appreciation for the ride and, at that point, they might as well do a major overhaul because the Twilight Zone music, themes, and Rod Serling really bring that ride to life, for me.

No Disney doesn't pay a hefty fee to CBS, that is a lie and a myth. The Twilight Zone references will never be removed from the attraction. I'll also inform you that it will be brought back to DCA after Disney loses Marvel. Besides, if I ran Disney and I will be running it in the future, I wouldn't pay CBS and keep the Twilight Zone references up and running behind their backs.
