One good thing about some routines is it creates a bit of pressure even though you're on your own, because pressure comes on if you're getting close to your pb on the routine or getting close to clearing them entirely.
Brilliant 👍I’m on shift so do a lot of solo practice early after the school run. Loved the fact you said make it fun because it’s easy to get bogged down with misses. Thanks 👍🤝
I just started actually practicing snooker and not just playing casually and I agree that writing down the results is really important. For me it also makes it much more fun to play practice routines when you can go back and see how it’s been going.
Could you get Amy back on for a Q and A about your career. It would be a good watch. She's hilarious, and ye are a duo that bounce off each other in a very natural, entertaining way. The world Snooker championship prediction videos were brilliant.
That refreshment thing is a great tip after every set. With me i get to loose focus after doing two to three sets, yup thx for that. No break for 90 min is a culprit, i will surely have a tea n a cig after every set.
Hi Michael I love you're emphasis on trying to make it very realistic, and also keeping a fun attitude. oh yeah and having a break between routines Great stuff Thanks so much mate
Great advice - best little routine that helped me with close cue ball control around the black is the zig-zag reds, where you have to take them from each side in order. Very frustrating to start, I always move the white when out of position, so it teaches you where you should have got it - I only do it once per session as it is very annoying, but it so helps you learn
Good point about fun and enjoyment. I'm coming away angry and frustrated regularly and getting so wound up in practice or games. Had a mega dip past few months and when confidence goes, the game feels impossible
The comment about not playing the exact same long pot over & over is valid for sure , but one small good thing about playing the same one over is a guide or goal (lets say you break your record of sinking it 5/6 times in a row etc)
I've gotten better at the high black. The good players at the club smash every black and leave me behind on the scoreboard, but i'm getting better and more confident at that alone.
Very impressive video, but what would your practice routine be if, for instance, you arrive at a venue and only have very limited practice time before you play a match, as this frequently happens for many league players? Keep up the great content 👍😁
Thank you Friday. Had 3 hours tonight down the club practicing what you showed me. Still feels weird after 3 hours 😂 I,ll let you know if still feels weird in 3 months time 😅
In my solo practice sessions I try to simulate a frame with the red clustered with a few open with all the colours on their spots and try to make a century. Feels a bit pointless because in a league match all the colours are safe after the first 3, or 4 shots 🤦🏻♂️
Do professionals practice special shots like caroms, plants or doubles or are they so brilliant they just know how to do it? If you are playing the break shot, how much outcome can you control or manipulate?
Hi Mr. Michael Holt, I hope you're doing fine. I have a genuine question and you may find it interesting to create video on. Q: I started playing with 15 red and 6 colors. I have potted all the reds and now there is no red available on table anymore and only colors are left. I am playing shots trying to pot colors and I am left with a situation where I am touching yellow-ball. Now, What is the treatment ? Play Away From Yellow-Ball When Only Colors Are Left On Table ? Please guide me, because I have not found any rules regarding this in the Rule-Book issued by WPBSA World.
@@user-if1de8pt2j Most of players in clubs usedto argument that when There is no reds on table and only colors are available on the table, you cannot play away from the yellow-touching-ball, instead, you have to play yellow ball by first playing the cushion and then hitting the yellow, or else it would be foul.
@@user-if1de8pt2j I am confused regarding this Touching-Ball situation. Because I cannot find any rule regarding this in the book of WPBSA and also no video evidence is available on this issue.

Hendry will never get 8 World titles. Ronnie can. Hendry will never win 8 UK . 8 Masters , or 23 Major titles like Ronnie O'Sullivan the greatest player of all time. Nor will Judd Trump. Its not an opinion, Its a fact. Prove me wrong. Till then bow to the GOAT Ronnie O'Sullivan 🐐
Hahaha Got whitewashed by Moody a 17 year old . But comes on a WST and talks rubbish about Ronnie with the weak era unhinged narcissist Hendry. Everyone knows Hendry is jealous of Ronnie. Pathetic if it wasn't fukken hilarious as well.

Nice to have a little insight in a pro practice session, thanks Michael 🙂

Great stuff
Thanks so much mate
My pleasure.
Thank you.
Tea is the most important part of practice 😊
Love that "straight cueing" 😄
I always start with potting a few balls in to the middle pockets, it helps with my confidence and its easy positioning (in theory)

Why dont you do any videos about long potting??
I always wondered how you would prepare yourself and aim for long pots.
Would love to see you and break from life do something together
Thank so much ❤
I carnt screw back from a long red I’ve tryed everything and I’ve been playing for a couple of years
Thanks
Easy to practice all day when you have your own snooker room and don't have to pay for the lights.

Does the coaching not effect your game? Or does it encourage you to play/practice more yourself?
Why do you say high on the black when the white is below the black?
And one day you too could be as good as Michael Holt but never as handsome
Correct. 👍
Post-set interval lager.
