$50 really isn't that bad of a price given inflation and how worthless the U.S. dollar is in 2024. Many games back in the SNES era cost $70-$80. I'm not sure where people get this idea that games should be $20-$40 in 2024. And I don't even like Rockstar. LOL!

Honestly for a 2010 game RDR1 looks good. I like the shadows, heat waves, foliage and draw distance. Definitely looks better than Xbox 360. Kryzzp I really think you'll love this game, especially the parts in Mexico.
I emulated this game a few years ago on my 3070 and it brought it to its knees it was very unoptimized, but it's such a good game I'm glad it's on pc now
For anyone with a 7900x3d or 7950x3d make sure you either disable the frequency cores or use process lasso to force rdr onto the cache cores. Seems the scheduler has an issue with rdr where it throws it onto the frequency cores and it greatly harms performance. I went from 80fps to 120fps (my cap cause 120hz monitor) just from using lasso, no settings changes. The 1% lows are also better
Memories of 2011, playing this game as a teen on PS3, with all the time and no care in the world. Still my favourite game to this day. Wonder what took Rockstar 15 years almost to release this on PC.

I had a thought in the back of my head that this game was going to run similarly to GTA 4. I'm glad that isn't the case. Maybe Rockstar can properly fix GTA 4 someday to run high framerates with no issues.
Yeah, everyone was saying this port was going to be an unoptimized mess. I knew it wasn't though, because the same company (Double Eleven) ported the game to Switch last year and that has beautiful performance. So I suspected that this PC port was going to be well optimized too. Double Eleven does great work.
GTA 4 on PC is not all that bad if you use DXVK and stick to cap 60FPS. a lot of frametime issues have been solved with that, but it would be nice if Rockstar could go back and fix some threading issues since the game was released during a shitty time of dual-cores and aging DX9 limitations

Cyotes are not dogs per se but they are canines which is the same sub species as dogs. They are menaces regardless though. They generally travel in packs and are not dangerous on their own but if you run into many of them they can kill you if they feel threatened.
This optimization is great. I love seeing optimization like this where when you put it on high settings it’s as if it’s not on high runs it so smooth. I want to see this modded with graphic mods in 4K or 8K to see how much this monster 4090 can really do.
My dream for this game was to use RDR2 textures at a minimum! Very disappointed with the lack of effort. Hopefully modders will help with the improvements RS refused to make!

I'm absolutely certain that nothing has improved aside from the ability to play at 4k and the high framerate, but that's it. People who say otherwise are tripping. The high resolution and anti-aliasing is what makes all the difference here
It's crazy how the original RDR has always had the reputation of being Rockstar's worst optimized game. Absolute spaghetti code. But this new PC port is probably the most stable and smooth of all of Rockstar's titles on PC. Look at that frame time graph. It's like a perfectly straight line a good 99% of the time. Even decently-optimized games such as GTA 5 and RDR 2 don't have frame times that steady and consistent. Double Eleven did an amazing job with this port. Imagine if Rockstar chose them to make the GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition, rather than Grove Street Games. The Definitive Edition would have been AMAZING.
I saw a guy on Steam complaining about the performance and saying that it is unoptimized, probably he has an integrated gpu from 2010 because this runs perfect lmaoo
RDR2 PC was made by a secondary team at Rockstar who are now helping finish GTA VI. This was made by an outside studio who had zero involvement with the PC port of RDR2 which is why there’s no settings parity and it’s a really old game

Brother..... this is soooo much better looking than RDR on PS3. I have my PS3 hooked up (mostly for Resistance and Killzone trilogies) and I booted it up to look and the difference is HUGE. Not to mention all of the fixes to LODs and the ability to actually have anti-aliasing so it's not a jagged mess lol 😂 I'm glad they didn't rework a lot of stuff because the art style is what I love and I feel like they'd kill the art direction.

I bought this game on PC, and played through today, and can honestly say I was quite worried because of the system requirement that were put out, but as someone who uses a very much used GTX 1060, I think most builds will be fine on this game, I mean come on it's only 12gb. and yeah and my game ran perfectly fine.
This 4090 Strix OC seems like a new stock of 4090s. Which is voltage locked at 1.050v. Also given the vbios shown on the GPU-Z screenshot. Not that it matters a lot but just an observation. I have the same vbios flashed to my 4090 TUF OC and achieves the exact same parameters.
Pretty much every modern GPU will max this game out. Idk if its the best content for future videos. at 8k your not even using the full power of the 4090 lol not even hitting 400w, that thing was chilling.

It runs 100% flawless on Xenia now with the patches and having v sync turned off in xenia config.

I bought a second hand xbox one to play this. Its a wonderful experience, current games lack this kind of story.

If it was not for DirectX 12, it could run on very old GPUs just fine at 720p. But most 600/700 series GPU should run the game no problem.

please test something low end next, it seems to make sense with the game
Pretty much every modern GPU will max this game out. Idk if its the best content for future videos. at 8k your not even using the full power of the 4090 lol not even hitting 400w, that thing was chilling.
Would be more interesting to see how well this runs on something like a GT 1030 GDDR5 (not 4!) or GTX 750ti.
