    My shoulder dislocated like crazy. They did surgery and fixed it. They said I had the best outcome he's seen.

    • @vandaway1
      @vandaway1 3 года назад +31

      You're lucky. My knee cap dislocates any time it feels like taking off which I then have to shove it back into place... if it's even possible because sometimes my knee will be too swollen to shove it back in. I had a patellar realignment surgery and was finally doing better but then I had to see a workers comp doctor who thought it was a good idea to take my knee in one hand and my ankle in the other and torqued them in opposite directions... the motherfucker went and tore out half of what was screwed into my tibia... I legit had my knee taken apart, got some new dead person cartilage since I no longer had any, then putting everything back together properly and drilling 2 2" stainless steel screws into my tibia and that fucking idiot not only ruin a $250k plus surgery but he made it so I now need a knee replacement, well I needed it in 2017 when he tore it but workers comp kept saying "You're too young" try this blahblahbullshit (the equivalent being "oh you go shot? Here's a bandaid) I've spent the last 4 years fighting workers comp AND my orthopedic dr that I need help, especially since I started developing osteoarthritis before 27... so now the same dumb dumb doctor of mine say my new MRIs and I said "so what's next a partial knee replacement?" And he said "Well with that much osteoarthritis you might not have enough bone strength so it'll probably need a total replacement" so I told him that my pain management doctor recommended nerve block injections and this fucking idiot that KNOWS how jacked my knees are and that said I might need a total replacement because of how jacked my right knee is said "Yeah you should get the shots and maybe they'll help enough so you don't have to do the surgery".... excuse me but what the mother fucking fuck is wrong with that dude! He should have retired 20 years ago.
      So yeah today my kneecap is refusing to budge which is annoying but better that then having a freaking joy stick for a kneecap. Dislocations are a bitch but when they happen multiple times a day you start thinking that it's better to chop your leg off with a rusty spoon then deal with the searing, stabing and just plain hit by a Mack truck feeling... fun times!
      I'm glad your surgery went better than it could've been. I had my shoulder done years ago, tore a bunch of stuff, and it was my worse surgery to date... and I had half of home depot used on my knee! But yeah the pain was horrible and getting home and going to the bathroom to then realize "umm I can't use my left hand... how the heck am I going to pull my pants and underwear down with one hand?!?!" I did the whole left side, right side, left, right, etc until they were down enough... I never knew that I use my nondominant hand as much as I did! But yeah shoulder surgery hurts and that's from someone who's had 8 total and the shoulder is still the winner.
      I'm glad you're recovered and I wish you good health for life!

    Good news, he landed it, and it was a good back flip
    Bad news, he went around the back of the portable and hit his head on the corner of the AC unit and started bleeding out, and I had to do a police report for legal reasons for the school
    Good news! We were going inside to our health class! So he was in good hands

The first time, I didn’t know that’s what was happening or anything about fainting and I went to the bathroom and crouched JUST LIKE YOU SAID IN THE VIDEO!!! Knees to my chest and head between my knees! I remember I was freaking out because my hearing was quickly vanishing and having a sharp sense of nausea which quickly dissipated. The nausea is why I went to the bathroom. I didn't want to possibly throw up on the kiwis I was slicing!
    My point is that the whole crouching thing was just like instinct for me! I didn't even know what was happening!

    This video made me realize I had severe second degree burns from sitting in direct sunlight for 45 minutes. My legs were covered in golf ball size blisters that accidentally got popped from above and filled with water when I took a shower. Having 2 deciliters of shower water in each blister pocket weighs down on your skin a LOT and hurts like hell. After the blisters were popped and my raw skin underneath was starting to heal I had problems walking from the pain. Even three years later I still have "tan lines" (aka damaged red skin) on my legs, even though I have been inside most of the time due to covid. I have the fairest skin type that burns immediately, which sucks.

    • @carolm6440
      @carolm6440 Год назад +4

      I just found the same thing out. I spent hours in the sun without sunscreen and ended up with severe second degree burns on my arms. My shoulders blistered pretty bad but never popped. The blisters came off whole a few weeks later. But I was stupid. I did the same thing a few years later and this time my skin ripped a few days after the incident. And what’s even more stupid is I had my mom just take the rest of the top layer of skin off the burned area. BIG MISTAKE. I couldn’t sleep because literally everything hurt the burned area. NEVER AGAIN.

    • @anjelica948
      @anjelica948 Год назад +3

      I had a very similar experience. I’d been out in the ocean when the surf was rough, so I was tired when I finally came out, and I fell asleep in the sun.
      I didn’t feel the pain at first, but by the time I got home, I realized I had burns and blisters all the way down the back of my legs and thighs. I’ve been sunburned many, many times (I literally can’t be out in direct sun for more than ten minutes before I start to burn), but this was by far the worst pain I’ve ever had. I almost went to the hospital.
      Ever since then, I’m extremely careful about sun exposure. A few years ago, I went on a week long boating trip, and some of the other passengers teased me a little, bc I wouldn’t come up to the top deck and hang out while the sun was beaming down. But I told them “I don’t have strong enough SPF to withstand it, and I’m not about to be miserable on my vacation bc of a sunburn.” Later cut to me merrily hiking along the coast and most of them wincing in pain, trying to keep up, but with their skin practically crackling.

    • @opalumbre
      @opalumbre Год назад +1

      Same here- we went to the beach and forgot sunscreen, figured we’d pick some up on the way back to the lodge and that we’d be fine for one day, maybe minor sunburn. We were not fine. Moving at all was hell (walking down stairs was not an option. I had to slowly scoot down each step on my butt) and the most comfortable position i could find was laying flat on a blanket on the carpeted floor. Coconut oil was a godsend though, i don’t think I could’ve handled the pain without it.

      I have the same issue. I eventually decided to cover up with a swim shirt while swimming, kayaking, or boating. I’m never going to remember to wear enough sunscreen or reapply it often enough. Soooo many sunburns before I got smart enough to cover up. A thin, lightweight, breathable, quick-drying layer of fabric on my body is all the protection I need. No more radiation burns for me!

I FELL BACK DOWN AGAIN. WHAT A SURPRISE. No ambulance needed, my shoulder did get a little hurt but I woke up almost immediately. WHY I SUBSCRIBED: Because I like the way you deliver these tips from the E.R, how to handle it approach certain situations, the way you explain things and the fact that you show how human you are as an E.R Technician.
    I HATE seeing videos of people being so proper, watching what and how they say things, people being FAKE as is everything is "perfect" but never being REAL and allowing their followers to only see the good on camera but not showing the bad and ugly that REALLY happens of OFF camera.
    Please continue keeping it real cause personally I appreciate that more than watching someone's video where they PRETEND LIKE EVERYTHING IS PERFECT.

    As someone with hypermobility in the joints of my fingers, shoulders, knees, hips, and ankles, I’ve had to deal with a lot of dislocations. I had never really thought it to be that big of a deal , the joint pops out and you just pop it back into place, right? And then my friend dislocated their pinky finger and started freaking out, and I learned that it’s not normal for people’s joints to pop out of place. I think I’ve only ever gone to the hospital for it once, when my backpack (which weighs around 50 or 60 pounds, maybe a little bit more) had a strap get caught around my thumb when I picked it up and it yanked my thumb out of place and I couldn’t put it back into place. I was freaking out, not because it hurt, but because it was the first time I hadn’t been able to put it back in place myself. It all ended up being fine, but I had to wear a splint for around a week to make sure it didn’t slide back out of place. Since then, I’ve had several dislocations, but never bad again, and I’m very grateful to the doctors and nurses who were able to help me when I needed them to. Still, as scared as I was with the dislocated thumb, I think my mom had it worse (she’s never dislocated a joint, and she was freaking out with how my thumb was placed)

      Can I guess that you have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome?? Cause I do and that’s Exactly what goes on with me, joint pops out of place and I’ll literally just sit there stone faced and be like “well that’s troubling” and then just pop it back in. For instance today I managed to pop my right pointer finger out of place while showering, and while it hurt like all hell I popped it back into place. Still finished my shower and got dressed cause at a certain point you’re used to living with dislocated/painful joints you kinda just learn to deal with it and continue through the pain. Lol.
      Funny thing is I had Just finished watching the buddy tape part of this video right before I got in the shower, guess it’s a good thing I got a refresher on what to do with a dislocated finger huh? Lmao.

    Lol. Idk which was the first video that popped up on my feed, but I started following cause I tend to wake up in the ER every once in a while. Like aw shit, here I am again... damn seizures. I enjoy watching the tips and really enjoyed the skits. Also the fact that these are cases and things that you actually deal with in the ER just reminds me what fucking angels you are. Idk how many times I have woke up in the ER, ripped out my catheter or tried ripping out incubator tube. I think that my body has built up a tolerance to propofol, cause that shit don't knock me out like it use too. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I cannot thank you and every other person who works in this field, you guys literally save lives.... Like my dumb ass.

    One summer at band camp I got a second degree burn on the back of my shoulder. I was always too distracted to apply sunscreen. Now, I’m kinda better about applying sunscreen and I only have been to the ER twice, once for my first epileptic seizure and the second time for not being sure if this is the right world. Never went for my 2nd degree burn, because my parents are both certified RNs and we took care of it at home.

    It’s that smile and “happy” demeanor no matter what you say. Can’t forget those 💯 skits you do when you play all the characters. I know damn well you’ve seen the comments talking about how great and different each character is.
    To see you go to stand up comedy, it’s like seeing a child grow up and get what he literally dreamed of, but didn’t think it would/could be real. The joy on your face says it all. ❤
    Well deserved!
    Although I must be honest and admit I’m a bit nervous about your future and how you handle the money. If you stay famous creating more content. If you’re ever gonna go back to the medical field. Maybe something part time or volunteer..? Just to “have your foot in the door” if need be.
    Idk, I have anxiety.
    I’m supposed to think about things going sideways. It’s basically the definition of anxiety.
    BUT it helps me to be prepared!
    So, if anyone with bad anxiety is reading this, try to think of it as if you expect the worst to happen, but hope for the best. It really does help me. I hope it helps someone else.
    Sorry for the rant. And change of topic.
    ADHD might also be a thing I’m medicated for 😅
    HOWEVER
    Idk I think I’m more fun that way. Helping to bring humor to each situation.
    Okay way off topic again.
    Congratulations on your 7 million! 🤩

    I really can't remember the very first video I saw but the one that made me subscribe was thinking that an unconscious person in the ER doesn't hear what's going on. So Steve does a beautiful rendition of Jingle Bells while farting the entire song. Of course the patient comes to and Steve slinks out of the room. That did it, I subscribed and never miss a day of his insanity.
