Beretta: the perfection made masterpiece.
An optics cut from LTT would make it even better.
@@DaedalusHelios Beretta 92x Defensive
@@Mavd-mk9iq I have the 92X RDO model and an LTT elite as well. They swap to 96 versions like a champ too. I never collected the .357SIG variant, or the 9x21. 96 uppers can run .357SIG barrels, but I suggest using a higher pound spring. Wolf makes a nice set for recoil spring options.
A main to that 👍
I bought an M9A3, never having owned a Beretta. I could not believe how good it felt and shot. Everything is so precise. Their quality is amazing and far exceeds any polymer pistol, and that’s not an insult as I own many, but if you handle a Beretta it is just evident. After the M9A3, I had To buy the 92X Performance. Simply incredible. If you’re considering one, just do it. It will become one of you’re most prized.
Your first Beretta is a M9A3, damn that's like saying the first Italian car you bought is a LaFerrari. The first Beretta I shot a while back was an M9A1, such a smooth flat shooter with perfect ergonomics. I agree, there's no polymer strikers (or even metal frame strikers) that can match the Beretta's performance.
I am a bit of a fanboy because I've shot with a lot of people with a lot of pistols and me with Berettas, and I saw them have issues and my Berettas have never failed me. Now my Nano was not my favorite, but it was as reliable as the rest.
People sleep on them!! I have excellent polymer pistols like the P10C, VP9, etc…but when I shot that Beretta and saw how smooth it was, it became my favorite 9mm
You convinced me. No. Seriously lol
@@RepentorPerish77
I likewise have a decent collection - PPQs, VP9s, P-09/P-10c, etc. I similarly “first entered Beretta” with the M9A3. First time at the range I realized that Beretta can make AMAZING firearms - eg the slide felt like it was on ball bearings. (Only issue is mag-related: A disappointing amt of 9mm nosedives.)
All Steel Framed is perfect for my collection.
It's not that the M9A3 "didn't make it". The military refused to even consider it. They passed up the best gun in lieu of a plastic POS, IMO
They wanted something more modular and m9a3 wasn’t . I had one but now have this 92x and love it.
Big mistake going to that plastic hunk of junk
My guess is someone in the DOD is getting extra goodies under the table from SIG. Even though their guns aren't nearly the best they are somehow always getting the contracts.
@@hankhill3417 I'd take a cz spo1 tactical or a beretta m9a4 over those sig pistols. Lower bore axis, easier maintenance, and aren't overpriced. In my opinion sig is just the overpriced brand name nothing makes the sig p226 better than a cz75
That is nonsense! You are very wrong. The Seals and Marines did not select a pos.
Great Beretta! Great job! Thank you from Italy!
Thanks Giovanni!

Still the best pistol in 9 mm, quality, workmanship, reliability, accuracy and damn SEXY !
Just set the trigger to about 3.5 Lbs and you will be fantastic !
Sig is OK...but does not compare with Beretta 92X Performance full steel !
Try CZ shadow 2 and come back
@@madhatter6549 you may have something here...that is very true...!
Wish they wouldn't stamp those warnings on the slide. It's such a beautiful gun except for that.
Well, they may remove the "READ OWNER'S MANUAL BEFORE USE" soon. The reason is that they will stamp, etch and paint the whole damn manual all over the pistol...
I thought the same thing. Beautiful gun though
they do that for stupid people!

The 1911/2011 style pistols are timeless, same with the Beretta
The M92/M9 Platform is only growing in Popularity. All the new variations that have been produced since the last 6 years.
I have the M92X Performance. Better than any Polymer-Striker Fired. I love the DA/SA and frame-mounted safety. A crisp, single-action trigger, second strike double action capability, and you just get 1911 Vibes with that ability to safely carry it cocked and locked.
That gun is all class, beautiful firearm
The outtakes are always the best!!
I picked one up early this year. Oddly it was one of the few firearms i could find in stock at the time lol. It was beautiful in the pics, but It honestly looks way better in person.
One of the first handgun I bought for home defense was the Beretta 92fs love it
Just shot a 92x elite today from a glock 17 and shield plus. Safe to say I am saving up for either than or this one now because Holy cow that was a shooting experience unlike anyother.
Great video Sootch00. thanks !
I highly recommend LOK grips for the 92X Performance. They have better texture than the factory ones and look super cool and come in a variety of colors
Great video, thank you. I purchased my mines today!
Held one recently, if I wasn't planning on getting a high end rifle I would have walked out with it right there. Few firearms have felt so right in my hand
First gun I ever held in a shop was a 92FS. Felt great. Did not buy it. Went through a few other things, finally came full circle and got a 1994 Italian Inox 92FS I stumbled across. Nothing in-between felt as good in the hand.
Not only does it feel great but aside from a modern era CZ or any boutique competition pistol manufacturer, there is nothing that operates as smoothly preparing to fire or during firing then a Beretta M9(especially the latest models). I don’t own this model(although I’m seriously considering purchasing it) I do own a M9A3. I will tell you that I seem to group better with that gun then any of my other handguns. I have bought and own a lot of offerings from Glock before I bought my M9A3 and I have to say I enjoy shooting it more then any of them. While it is a pricier pistol then a Glock, you can feel why it’s worth more when you shoot it. Like you I have a long range bolt action build I’m currently saving for and anxious to put together and it’s painful to walk past the Performance model. Might just sell my M9A3 to purchase this model but I’m not a competition enthusiast so the extra weight is more of a plus/minus then just a plus for me. I just love the colors/color scheme and the frame mounted safety. That crispier trigger too.
It's nice but it's not a CZ. I'd actually put the Beretta behind both CZ and Sig in this category (hammer driven range thumper)
@@dilldowschwagginz2674 Agreed! I was issued a 1911 in the military. I had to qualify on the M9 (Beretta 92). I fell in love with the CZ more.
@@dilldowschwagginz2674 what’s so special about the cz? I had a CZ 75 and rapid fire I couldn’t hit anything !! I have some old CZ s like the CZ 27 and CZ 52 and love them. I know they are built like a tank n all but since I have two baby desert eagle Jericho 9mm which are so similar to CZs I can’t justify it. I’ve got the beretta 92x performance and love it. I guess I’m a beretta fanboy now lol!!
Lethal Weapon, oh yeah. that was my introduction to the Beretta as well. i was sorely disappointed when i found out it didn't actually have a magazine capacity of 41
Lol that’s what the two extra mags are for lol!! Should put you over 45 rnds!!
Haha
😂
thank you sootchoo for the beretta video!!!!
I find it funny how once the military adopts something else, the people who carried a gun that they hated at the time grow to love it in hindsight.
While in the Army the Beretta M9 was the first pistol I ever shot consistently. I wasn’t impressed though I always shot expert. When I started shooting other pistols I found out what a mediocre shot I really was. It turned out the Beretta had been carrying my ass.
For a lot of people the M9 is the first pistol they ever shot in their lives. Most are initially bad shots from lack of experience so it makes sense that they have a bad impression at first. In reality the M9 had always been loved and respected by the gun community.
When I went into the Army, the 1911's I dealt were worn out piles of crap. The M9 failed to impress me at all. In fact my last 2 commanders refused to issue the M9 and we used old 1911's.
After the I left I found a 1911 (new) that wasn't a rattle trap. I liked it a lot. These later iterations of the M9 might be really nice.(Other Berretta's I have tried are pretty darn good.) I used to carry a Glock Model 22 for the PD. Not a Glock fanboy.
I own and carry a Sig P320.
@@FredHillig I remember the 1911s from the late 80s. They were garbage though in retrospect they shouldn't have worked at all. The bluing was almost gone, the springs were way past their replacement date, and the bores were mirror smooth. That was simply because most of them dated from the Korean War or earlier. Plus generations of officers and senior NCOs didn't maintain them well and unit armorers didn't order replacement springs.
Ironically the M9 had the same problems. They were introduced in '85 and the same process of long service and neglect took the same toll when used in 2003. Though the real problems started about 2006. Aggravating it was the Army's inane requirement Beretta supply magazines that picked up dust and rammed it into the operating system.
Love all your videos!
The Beretta 92 definitely caught my eye because of the 1911. Already in love with the design, optic ready, and seeing all the vanity options for it (colored grips triggers and more) I'm so sure about this one it's making me all tingly.
This would be my dream Beretta it had a threaded barrel as an option. It's a nice heavy pistol for the range and Berettas make great suppressor hosts. I looked at one today and was very impressed.
Great review I want one of these.
I, too, love the PX4.. It is one of the most underestimated and underrared pistols.
What a nice firearm! Thanks for the review Sootch00!
Thanks for watching Sean!
Great pistol and I enjoyed your video. Thank you.

Great review !!!
Thank you for the review. Beautiful handgun.
Just used this gun this past weekend in a knockdown steel match using Federal 150gr Syntech ammo. Gun just feels great, ran flawlessly and the weight really tames the recoil especially with the 150's. Also shot the same match with an X5 Legion with a Romeo Pro 1 optic. On 4 of the 6 stages, my times were better with the Beretta over the X5. As sootch00 would say.... "this gun rocks"....
I have a sig 226 Loved it. One malfunction in 20 years. Ejector or exstractor broke . I sent it to sigal and replaced EVERY AND ANY PART that showed wear for $45.00
They complemented how clean it was.
They turned it and had it black to me in a week , paper's and work and part was also in the return kit.
Good to great service.
Now waiting for my ppqm2 to arrive. But partial to my 92fs
Nothing short of AWESOME
Love the Beretta 92X Performance. My siblings and I bought it for my father's bday. I got a chance to shoot it a few times and it's probably my favorite pistol to shoot of all time. The trigger is phenomenal, the gun is so accurate, racking the slide is so smooth, the frame safety is so much better than the slide safety in my opinion, and the gun is just so sexy. I was so disenfranchised with the Beretta 92 platform after the shitty ones with the crappy mags that we were assigned while serving. Glad I gave the 92 platform another chance because I fell in love. I'm saving up for a 92X (92X Performance is too expensive right now) and can't wait to finally get one.
I thought your avatar was an eyelash on my phone screen. Kept trying to wipe it away.
Even the original 92fs was a great gun, it's just the military has a great talent of making good weapons function like trash.
@@noneyabusinesshomie yup. The military wouldn't update to the newer locking blocks that lasted much longer and told the company making the mags for the M9 that they would lose their contract if they wanted to make more reliable mags instead of the ones they agreed upon. It sucks because our soldiers deserved better.
Such a cool gun! Bring more of that!
Shot it couple days ago at the range with a 20 mag Jesus Christ I’ve never been so satisfied shooting a pistol perfection
Got a 92fs, but I want this!!! Great review!
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING LOOKING FIREARM
Die hard and Lethal weapon got me hooked on the 92
I'm glad you like it.I love mine.
Your videos are the best
I'm very happy with my Beretta M9A3, that I bought a year and a half ago for about half the price of this 92X.
I own one too but I can see the reasoning for the higher price of this model. There’s a lot more material in that slide then the A3 slide and the trigger is much closer to perfection compared to any other M9/92 model.
It is pretty! Thanks Sootch :)
Been waiting for a very long time
What a thing of beauty; this is my dream pistol. Living in goofy CA, I can only dream of owning one.
This what i been waiting for👌🏾
I saw one of these in the gun store the other day and I was so tempted to get it.
@sootch00 please review the cz shadow 2 and the cz tactical sports 2. Thanks for the review 👍🙏 reviews are always on point 👌
Beretta 92’s are just beautiful
They also shoot as beautiful as they look.
awesome review thank you
Handled on at my local shop and really loved it. They were out of stock and I almost bought one sight unseen. UNTIL I read some reviews from about a year ago - it's jan 2023 now - And they changed my mind. If the assembly process produces so many negative comments, I will wait until one is in stock before I put any money on one.
Got my Beretta 92A1 and Glock21 Gen4 last week!
I've owned a Ninety-Two and two PX4 Storm pistols. Butter smooth shooting and all were very accurate! I love the adjustable rear sight and how they moved the thumb safety to the frame a-la Taurus PT-92. They have my attention now.
Nice gun; nice review.Beretta 92X Performance rocks👍
Amazing, beautiful gun!
Gorgeous Pistol, solid video thx
Love my M9A3 but I may need this in my life
I am actually interested in this for a CCW. I use to carry a Browning Hi Power and loved it. Now I have a GLOCK 19 and a Sig P 320 compact. Both are great but I am nostalgic for a single action hammer fired steel pistol for some reason. This looks very interesting. Thanks for the great review.
Cz p-01 woul be a great choice for ccw
@Jeff LeMond This is going to be a pretty heavy gun for CCW (or for that matter, open carry if it's allowed in your state)...it's almost 3.5 lbs.
Some people have said they've carried this gun though.
I carry it maybe its just me but my clothes weight 3.5 pounds not seeing what the big deal is
@@yepforsure5338 I’ve never worried about a guns weight.
Don't get me wrong I freaking love this Beretta. But yeah it can get weighty. Especially if you carry on a shoulder holster. Trust me you will feel it at the end of the day in your upper back.
So me personally I'd rather carry my air weight scandium alloy smith and wesson.357 snubby. That's just my preference but if I didn't have my Snubbie I'd be carrying my 9 mm for sure everywhere I go.
Greeting from CZech Republic and thx for your best job !
Thanks for watching Radovan!
I also have medium sized hands, and I just reach over the safety lever with my thumb to activate the slide catch 👍
Love my 92x performance. 😍😍
This baretta is the best beautiful handguns ever l give 5 stars 🌟
That pistol looks so great in every aspect except for the rear sight. Hanging off that way just makes it look like an afterthought
I don’t like that sight and that saftey is way too big.
Longer sight picture creates better accuracy, that’s why the sight is extended.
@@douglasbrmn2 yeah I’m not a competition shooter so I don’t really like it. Mainly just the looks.
Other than that it’s a badass pistol!👍🏻 I like my decocker/Saftey on my 92FS though. Something about dropping the hammer after you rack a round just feels cool. 👌😏😆
@@michigunsanta8680 I think there are 3 lever sizes available, just never wanted to change it though personally
I'm not going to lie, I bought it because of the looks. KNEW NOTHING ABOUT IT, except its older brother was used in a video game, and the nerd in me was like, I can totally buy that. Then I felt the actual 92FS in my hands and it was gross. Then I saw the 92x in a glass display case with other high ticket guns, and was like "YES PLEASE". Guy was like which one? "Carry", "Opitcs" or "Carry and Optics". OBVIOUSLY the "BOTH". Fired it at a friends, and holy cow, new favorite, dethroning my first gun I ever bought having never grown up around them as a Chicago raised boy, the Walther q5 Match SF Pro. SO, I bought a second one, since I loved the first so much.
Everybody that shoots my 92fs, especially new shooters, feels comfortable on it right away.
I bought the 92X Performance and the 92X Standard full size at the same time. Everything you said here in this review is true. The 92X Performance is certainly a nice pistol. However I ended up keeping the 92X Standard full size instead of the performance model. The huge difference was the weight. Adding full magazines to the already 3 lb Performance pistol really made it too heavy for the wife right away and after just a few mags of shooting for me at the range. We agreed to enjoy the black standard 92X instead of the heavier pistol. Thanks for your review. :)
No matter how freaking sweet a firearm like this Beretta is people definitely should consider the weight part of it especially if you want to take it everywhere you go. And when it comes to price this Beretta comes with a pretty hefty price for a pistol at around $1500-1600 bucks. But if you have the means don't pass this one up, totally worth it.
@@jeffspicoli5399 Ours was a couple years ago now I guess and was only $1100 at the time new. You are correct the pistol was certainly nice, but it was a range gun and not one I would use for daily carry or as a truck gun. After two or three of the 92X variations I ended up with the 92X Centurion. It is my favorite of the three I own.
@@789295 I'm leaning towards that one myself. But I've been doing some serious thought with this 92x performance recently hence it's why I'm here doing some homework. So the centurion huh.. I guess I can wait a little longer with this one. I know it's been a while since you posted your comment but thanks for the reply. When it comes to firearms especially well made ones like Berettas it's always nice to hear feedback. I think you responding back might have just ended my research. Centurion here I come.
Two 15 rounders plus a 20 rounder fits a box of ammo perfectly. Arguing over 15 vrs 17 rounders is silly considering a guy is going to get the 18 and 20s anyway. Thank you very much for doing THIS vid.
Beretta is one of my favorite guns. I have 92FS Italian made and I am very happy with it.
Walther P38 is my second favorite but i do not have one.
One of the most beautiful gun out there
Such a beautiful handgun!!
I love barretts, Have 7 now after watching your video it is going to be 8 thanks.🇺🇸🇺🇸
Revisiting, as a couple shops have finally gotten the 92 x's in .
Purposely didn't bring any money with me on Friday, so I could agonize about buying it until Monday. Will make a good partner for my "massaged",
92FS Inox.
Love the finish and the fact that they put the safety back where it belongs. Not really a fan of going to a steel frame or that rear sight that overhangs the back of the slide. I realize it gives a slightly longer sight radius, but it seems like it could break easily and would interfere with decocking the pistol since they didn't include a decocker.
I just have a plain old tactical grey 92FS got it cheap on sale a couple years back. I absolutely love it! The DA/SA format fits me so well. I put the green Wilson Combat grips on it and I call it my “Wilson Combat custom 92FS”! Lmao 😂
Over the years I've owned about a dozen Beretta 92's of various sorts, and always enjoyed them. But there were always a couple of things I didn't like. The first was the long trigger reach which made me have to turn my hand a bit on the gun to fire it. A lot of my students has the same problem. The second thing was the inability to change out the sights. One of the latest I owned had night sights, and when I asked Beretta what to do when those sights ultimately wore out, they told me I wouldn't be able to replace them.
I didn't have a 92 when I started seeing ads for the 92X series of pistols. I noticed that now the front sight was dovetailed and the series had other improvements. Then I was looking at some LE distributors and noticed that one variant, the 92X Compact (non-rail version) was being offered at a significantly lower price than the others. It looked good, so I ordered one. To say I was happy with it would be an understatement. Not only did I now have replaceable sights, but also a better trigger and excellent checkering on the frame. And, to my pleasant surprise, the Vertec grip allowed me to shoot DA without having to turn my hand on the gun. Mine came with a 4 pound single action and an 8.5 pound double action trigger. All this with three magazines for $500! I didn't even miss the rail since I have a number of railed pistols already. My Compact is a beautiful gun, and I think the rail would have broken up the gun's classic lines. I also loved the rounded trigger guard on this model. When I shot it, my satisfaction only grew. It has since become one of my favorite pistols.
The pistol came with three 13 round magazines, but I happened to have three 17 rounders from my last Beretta, and tried them out using X-Grip adapters. This worked even better adding four rounds for only one half inch of butt length. The effect is that of the old Centurion, which I like a lot. As a test, I carried the 92X Compact concealed for a full month in south Florida with no problems. It isn't a tiny gun, but not a problem to hide if you buy a decent holster. At the range, this gun just about shot itself out to 50 yards. I really could not be happier, and if the Performance version is as good as they say it is, the asking price is not that high. Beretta has been slow in the past to make changes, but when you are 500 years old, I suppose you view time differently. About the only thing I could wish for would be a 92X Compact in Inox finish.
Great post. Which holster did you choose for the compact and where on your body do you carry it?
@@cosmicbird1850 Hi there. When I got the Compact, I went to my holster box to see what I had. I found a Desantis open top Speed Scabbard that had a slight forward rake and is worn just behind the hip. That was comfortable and pulled the gun in really tight to the body. I did that for half the month and then dug out an old Galco shoulder rig that carried the gun horizontally and had a dual mag pouch on the off side. It was from the days when Galco did not bone the holster so closely to a specific model of gun. This one was marked "Lg. Frm. Auto". I found that tit fit the Beretta an my SIG P226. I had to remove the X-Grip adapters off the spare mags to get those pouches to snap closed. No big deal. My typical daily attire is cargo shorts and a tee shirt, with what is called here a "fishing shirt" which is an oversized collared shirt that buttons in the front and is worn open like a very light jacket. I found that I liked this quite a bit, especially while seated. Cheers!
You can dovetail the slide for a replacement sight, if that would be worth paying a(competent) gunsmith.
1:17 "... interested in was Leathal Weapon" - yeah, that's me.
I just acquired the Beretta 92 A1 ...I'm just gonna go there and say, these pistols are a work of art. Kinda like the Swiss watch of pistols..I own many, including my HK USP 9MM, Sig 226...quite a few others of considered quality. But I'm here to tell all of u, the Beretta is like shooting a gun on ball bearings..YES!! They are that smooth. Fit/finish on a Beretta is 2nd to none. I'm not gonna say the Beretta is better or worse than my $1100 USP, OR MY $1400 226 LEGION..However, in my humble opinion, the Beretta 92 A1, is in a class of it's own,, and stands on top..when u put one in your hands, it screams quality, .indeed. if u guys ever get the chance to buy, or at least shoot one...you will understand. Some of my other pistols are now staying at home when I hit the range..
On another note, this particular Beretta being reviewed here, is even a step above than my A1..asteticaly, I kinda wish they would've angled the slide serrations...I just think it looks cooler.
One more thing, Sootch, thanks for your reviews..nice goin. And keep it up
Even to the amateur eye this is a master piece!

What a good looking pistol!
I was excited for a minute, I had a Taurus 99asf in the mid 90's. It was a great shooting gun, chrome finish sucked. I ended up selling it. But the Taurus I owned had the frame based safety that was also a decocker, which is my favorite set up for any semi-auto pistol. It was small and efficient. This one looks a little big, and doesn't have the decocker. I'd be interested if it was more like that old taurus.
Oh gnarly. Looks great
I had a Brigadier that I loved the feel of, but I sold it because the safety was opposite the 1911 I grew up with. Looks like they changed it on the 92X.
Great video! Thanks!
Thanks Thomas!
Beretta has the nicest looking pistols out there
First two range outings, I was having a lot of FTE to double feed malfunctions causing the mag to lock up. Even though the open design is reliable, it kept malfunctioning. I took a break from the pistol and recently shot it. Performed flawlessly. I think I was somehow limpwristing it before. Gonna go to range again soon to try against a Stacatto C2 I recent picked up.
No way you’re limp wristing a regular alloy frame Beretta 92 never mind an all steel 50+ ounce 92X Performance. Run more rounds through your gun and problem solve the real issue. There are numerous threads on Beretta Forum about the failure to eject/extract with the 92X performance.
@@chrisragone8785 what was the solution for those problems?
I have one … I love it!
The D spring and hollow hammer are cheap, easy and inexpensive upgrades to the stock M9 and 92fs. A little polishing on the trigger bar with a dremmel polishing wheel and some jeweler's rouge will do wonders as well. That gives you a totally different gun for less than $50.
Care to explain further?
Excellent video
this is the greatest 9mm pistol ever created by man at this point in time.
Nice Review! If you're Going to choose between beretta 92x PERFORMANCE and CZ shadow 2, what Will you choose for competition? TIA
