This is the crossover I never realized I needed. Joe Pera is adulthood's spiritual successor to Mister Rogers. The entertainment he provides is tonic for the soul. It's amazing to see the two of you working together. Thank you both for being who you are.
Joe Pera, subtly grinning: "That's how you know you're in a fancy house when they got the four-legged stools." Oh man, that was so subtle, so touching, I haven't laughed that hard in awhile.
As a fan of Joe and Townsends, and having found them from totally separate entertainment realms, I am both surprised and not surprised to see these two worlds cross and work so well together. Love this and would love to see more from this odd (yet not so odd) pair.
Joe Pera has honestly done way more for my mental health and learning how to handle emotions than my previous psychiatrists. Never even met the man but that Steven Hawking bit made me cry real tears for the first time ever.
From friends who have worked on the show (grips, cameras), nobody is quite sure how much of a character it is. A slight exaggeration is our best guess. He's like a lawful good Andy Kaufman.
I think the genius of the character is if you ever get a thought in your head that seems like an embarrassingly obvious or mundane observation it just comes across as charming.
In the evenings after the meal is eaten and cleaned up I can see sitting and carving designs into the edges, seat and legs. Little by little throughout winter.
Beauty in simplicity. This video nails that in every regard. Holy cow. Joe Pera x Townsends Homestead... I would say my brain can't comprehend, but it actually totally does comprehend, which is what is mind-blowing. Bravo. Get Joe back as much as he is able to, I can't wait to see how the homestead endures a 3rd winter, we all wish we had Brandon as a homie... as always, well done.
4:56 The sound of the drill turning through the wood is the audio equivalent of your best gal scratching your back after a night of prepping lemon bars for the church picnic tomorrow, or even a small handful of store brand chocolate chips right from the bag after dinner, even though you are eating healthy this summer.
