Hey Doug, I'm a WGA level 2 wilderness guide in eastern Finland and thus function as a bridge builder between modern human experience (incl Tourism) and the natural reality. With my knowledge and experience I have big big trouble understanding how tourism can ever be sustainable. More sustainable is surely possible, but "sustainable enough" will never be possible as long as we require fossil based infrastructure (including roads). Through my work and life outdoors in the NomadTown, I daily see the impacts of human influence and feel split between being a professional guide benefiting from tourists and being a member of the natural community of life. Thank you for your channel and welcome to eastern Finland if you can make it without flying. Huck
It's a potential option & a step towards, but not necessarily the whole future. For once, the industry might even be able to leapfrog into other identity solutions like biometrics, rather than wearables which will still siloed per-destination. I think I've used these "city cards" as Apple-Pay cards in Japan - much better than introducing another hardware device.
great video man, one change would be the sound level on the music. your voice and interviewies voices were at a low level and then jumps into loud music, i have to adjust my volume constantly. other than that this is as professional and entertaining of a video as one on this topic could get.
Regarding a city wide digital infrastructure for tourism, what about the data that is being collected... everything we'd do would be traceable, even if the nation would keep it supposedly safe, I am not sure if I'd want even more data to be collected about me, than is already being done. At the end of the day, I'd prefer privacy over saving time. What are we rushing for anyways?

I think Dou is really suggesting you can use multiple devices for the RFID - Card, Wearable, phone - multi mode - it doesn't matter

One of the best things Helsinki does is the open Digitransit project
5:12 Imagine all the people!
I've a keyword to solve your tourism problems 'corona'.
Disney has been doing this for years. Everything you do is linked to your card (now bracelet).
Ok, from purely a scientific perspective the hyper-loop is impossible or at the very least insanely impractical.
I think the word "scam" comes to mind.
