- This is the 17th annual Kites "NEAR" Lake Michigan. For the 3rd year, the event was moved to the high school because the Lake Michigan water levels are still too high to hold the event. Winds were less than ideal both days, and flying was more than a little hectic at times, and very challenging, but the event was a big success, and the flyers that came from all over the mid west did their best to put on another awesome show!

What a well supported event. It takes a lot of work to keep kites flying in stronger winds. The public seemed to be enjoying it. Thanks for all the video shots. So much to see.
Thank you Carl. Two Rivers has a population of about 11,000, but man, this event just draws the people. This is year 17 and it keeps getting bigger and better. It's just too bad that the winds were so strong, otherwise we would have had even more up. Such a great time.
Kenny, this one bears repeated views. There is a lot to take in. Your neck of the woods has a fabulous group putting big bucks into show kites. Too, you're blessed with a big, big green flying field. This is a spectacular return from COVID. Long may it last!
Thank you Glenn. There has been a certain amount of grumbling about it not being back at the beach. The beach is still 2/3 under water, and honestly, the school has so much more room to put things up, the viewing is better too. It is just too bad that the winds were so strong or we would have had even more in the air. The WI Kiters are a really great group, and of course we get to hang out with Michael and that huge crab of his..lol
Beautiful! 👏😊
Thank you. It really is quite a site.
Well I think you caught just about everything Kenny. Thanks for the ID and the image in the close. Great to see you as always my friend.
Well, you do have a huge following on your channel. I think it's cool to let people see that you were at the event along with Barbara and Tony. That crab pic just had to be used. It is an awesomely fun shot. It is such a great time hanging with you guys. Hopefully there was not too much kite damage from those winds.
Great job Ken! Love the video!
Thanks you. I wish you could have been there with me. Fun fun stuff.
Looked great on both days despite the far-from-perfect conditions, Ken. Good to see that Barbara Meyer is still flying - I didn't see any of her designs in the air but maybe I missed something.
Thanks Jim. The winds were very challenging both days. Made it hard to fly some stuff. Barbara comes every year as does Tony Killip. Super nice guy. She had one of her 81 power sleds up. I must have missed getting it.
@@mrlionel1965 I had one of those too, but found it increasingly hard to handle as the years went by and I passed it on.
Thanks for the video, Sir!
I am glad you enjoyed it.
