- For the last two weeks, I packed up my Galaxy Watch 5 and replaced it with the Google Pixel Watch. After years of rumors, they finally released it and yeah, I’ve got a lot to say! This is my review of the Google Pixel Watch.

Great review Thao, but the display is 1.2 inches not 1.6.
Love the design. Wish and was hoping the galaxy watch 4/5 looked like this. It really makes me jealous (punching the air). Only thing that helps me sleep at night is it's small size.

Great review as usual - only wish it had a 44 or 46 inch version. Plenty of accessories now on amazon so its a good buy in my book
I am loving mine. I think for a first gen device it's not too shabby. Disabling tilt to wake and hey Google detection greatly helped my battery life.
I also turned off tap to wake because I found I was accidentally activating it all the time.
I think the look of the watch is gorgeous. I'm going to wait though and hopefully next year they make a larger version. Also I'd like to see more than 24 hours between charges. I am really liking the Pixel 7 by the way. Thank you very much for your unbiased and fair reviews.
Thao thanks again for another SPOT ON VIDEO!!! You've nailed all the pro and con points of this watch!!! I feel it's a Beautiful design, would've liked it a little bigger but it's not too bad on my wrist!!! For as long as they took to release this I feel like it could've been a bit more thought out and not have some of the missing points you stated. It's almost like this watch was made a few years ago and they didn't release it but decided to release it now. A few years ago this would've been a solid watch but for 2022 it definitely has some missing points. As always appreciate your hard work and dedication to always bringing fresh, entertaining, and informative videos. Honestly becoming My TOP Reviewer!!! Knowing you have a Young Child I look forward to your videos when you find the time!!!
When Google announced the Pixel Watch, I immediately thought “oh, that’s cool! I can’t wait for the 2nd gen!”
It looks great, and all of the current issues will def get fixed next gen.

Wear OS also is a Google Product and some of the issues they didnt fix at 8th Gen. Keep hoping.
I adore the Pixel watch. It's a really, really good first-gen product and I can't wait to see how they improve on it!
After years of an Apple watch keeping me in their ecosystem while I put up with the boring iPhone. I'm now very happy with the Pixel Watch and Pixel 7 Pro combo. The watch is so very fast I couldn't care less the processor is older. If this keeps it under $400 (while still being stainless steel) or helps them profit to justify creating the next generation. I'm all for the smooth experience it delivers.
Also you're call quality experience is your unit. Mine works as expected.
Came here looking for this comment. I don't have any issues with calls and take them at least once or twice a day.
I'm not sure why, but my phone calls have been crystal clear on both ends. I'm really liking my watch so far

Yeah definitely interesting how the phone doesn't sync with the watch when it comes to overnight notification rules and alarms.. Hopefully a software update will fix that. The other interesting thing about the email is that Outlook does let you go into the inbox on your watch, but there's no Gmail app like you've mentioned. It doesn't make sense that they would not have their own product embedded in the watch at launch. Overall it's a nice first launch with a few minor sanding down of the edges.
Do pictures show up on watch with Google Chat when picture messages received?
I can understand Critics and people saying it's a Gen 1 blunder. However what I use it for it fits perfectly for my needs.
I agree I see some shortcomings to the refined apple watch series but Google's first run with this device I'm here form
I have been happy with mine (LTE option, not covered in the video; with Google fi, no extra cost to use it for calls without a phone, the eSIM was installed during setup process and that was it). No matter what watch I used in the past, I always charged it night, so battery life is not a problem to me. My mattress does better sleep tracking than any watch out there.
I'm having issues with the call quality. If you go above 50 percent the call sound becomes horrible with static and crackling noises..I've seen where others have the same issue. Hopefully this will be corrected with a update. Because it sounds awful.
It's been almost a week for me and the battery life has been surprisingly a little more than 24 hrs.
The tilt to wake sometimes doesn't work which is a bit frustrating but overall I am loving it!!!
I have found that I get better battery life with that turned off and always on turned on. I know it's hard to believe. But, try it.

Just got my Pixel watch today and I've had no issues. Came already charged to 86% and I plan on charging it every night while I shower and prepare for bed. Regarding the mention of the agenda app at time stamp 4:50, while it's true you can only see three days of upcoming events, as far as adding an event, task or reminder I have already added many simply by using Google Assistant and it updates my calendar immediately. I can easily see why you wouldn't want your entire calendar on your wrist. Also, as a woman with smaller wrists, I really like the size. This is my first smart watch, upgrading from a FitBit Inspire, so it doesn't take much to wow me. I love that I can make it look like a normal watch and then get all the techy stuff just by swiping up, down or sideways. Just wish I could connect it to my hearing aids, because while I've been able to understand Google Assistant in the quiet of my home, I doubt I'd hear it, much less a phone call, in a noisy situation. I'll be lobbying for that!
Watch 4 in India is almost 100$ right now.

There is. If you don't use a Samsung phone, then the pixel watch is the better choice. Not for the current msrp price though.
The design is top shelf. Definitely swank. I will probably purchase during a sale.
You can't put in a 4 year old SoC, have missing features and apps, poor battery life, have a proprietary charging puck without qi wireless charging, use corning gorilla glass instead of sapphire crystal for the display, and hide extra fitness features behind a paywall... Then charge you $350 for the watch. Google really made a sub par watch. Luckily for me, I picked up for $185 (which is where the watch should be priced) by using the $200 credit for pre-ordering the P7 Pro.
My only complaint so far is the battery life. I'm hoping the 2nd gen will have substantially improved battery capabilities.
I kinda miss my old Moto 360 besides all of its problems. But having to recharge a watch everyday is outrageous. I'm using an Amazfit Bip now, although doesn't have so many features, the battery life is great.

I liked it but it's way too small for my wrist so I had to return it. It's silly that there's no size for big people.
Thao, the background music added during the edit feels kinda off. Then again I have ADHD, but I usually never zone out of a youtube video. Usually I Love your videos!
I think being "plain" is Google thing I just got my pixel watch I'm so far I'm loving it. I just love simplicity of it.
I have aod on, tilt and touch on. But nfc off and hey google off. Also i adjust the brightness manually so it's not using ambient light sensor all the time. Battery life is okay, gotta chargebit every day. Love my pixel watch though, fitbit integration is great.
I love my pixel watch. The only complaint or issue I'm having is with my Bluetooth earbuds -- they sync perfectly for listening to music, but I still can't get the call audio to come through the earbuds, despite them being connected/paired. It comes through the watch speaker! Google was not much help, only suggesting I do a factory reset. So I've now done three -- hoping this last time corrects the problem. Any trouble on your end?
The design is amazing. Just make me a bigger size with minimum 3 day battery life and I'm sold. Love the look of the pixel phones too. Those buds though... Google need to go back to the drawing boards on those and do a complete redesign.
There's a bunch of 3rd party watch bands on Amazon already.
Do not disturb on my phone,, notifications on watch with easy option to go vibrate only is my jam. A synced setting sounds awful.
This is my favorite watch out of this, my apple watch and my samsung watch. I basically use the watches for messages and tracking my steps so I don't need too much from any of the watches. With that being said, I find this watch to be the most beautiful-clean, dainty on a woman's wrist and it makes gentle sounds for notifications. I did opt for the all black variant. Plus, the battery lasts me all day and then some on top of quick charging. I'd highly recommend this watch! xx
I love how you comment on Google using a processor from aaaaall the way back in 2018 and then proceeding to skipping through your playlist with Nelly and Pac haha

To add an event you use the assistant. It should work the same than when you use it on the phone.

For the bands you can get lugs from eBay or Amazon that allow you to use normal 20mm watch bands to save money

Good review. I have a sense and don't like what they did with the sense 2. The fitbit app is awesome. Does google wallet work the same as apple pay?
I like the Pixel watch, but because of the short batter life, I'm sticking with my Fitbit Sense.
Short battery life? I seriously doubt that you even had/tried the Pixel watch. I am getting great battery life on the Pixel watch.

Yeah I think people are forgetting it's Google's first watch.....
Google needs to fix OS 3 before it makes its own watch.
I'm not the only one that can say this or that notices it but the UI is made for a square watch not a round watch. OS 2 took advantage of the round circular face and scrolled it in a nice way accordingly so that it went with the curves of your circled watch but now when you scroll through menus you can clearly see that they are in rounded Corner boxes made for a square watch. The same thing goes for my fossil Gen 6. They didn't do anything to the UI to make it look better with that ridiculous black bezel either all they did was darken everything including trying to darken all of the watch faces so that you don't notice.
But they really need to go back to the UI look of OS 2... the design of three is nice and minimalistic however it functions as it belongs on a square watch face

Does anyone know of any good Cheap Unlimited Data Plans for the Google Pixel Watch LTE in the United States? I know there's only certain Carriers and Plans you can use this on so I'm looking for a cheap or middle of the Road Plan for it? I would only be using One Line plus the Google Pixel Watch.

The battery life of the apple watch, Galax watch , and any smart watch is terrible. You will have to charge them every day .
If Apple made them, they’d never give them away with a Pixel 7. They’d never make one size that fits neither men or women. They’d never release something that relied on a third party fitness app with a subscription to use it properly. Crap battery and crap performance l
I sent mine back, coming from the Apple Watch 8 it felt like a cheap toy.
Beautiful. It's obviously built by women, for women. I have one, it is my first smartwatch. It's not bad.
Hopefully there'll be a more masculine one in the future.
I like meditation app access. This saves on another cost. Maybe dig deeper into what Fitbit offers. There are more features than obvious on the surface.
Google I think is on the right track , firstly let's just say that no company is perfect or platform, but after using pixel 7 Pro, the pixel watch, and the pixel buds pro in the fog colour like you have, so didn't take much for me to sell my iPhone 14 Pro and all my other apple stuff . I have to say that Google assistant integration on everything just works fantastic over siri . Cheers Google .

I still 0refer my watch 4. I like the look of the pixel I think they would have benefitted teaming with Samsung rather then sticking fitbit in the pixel.
I don't know what planet you're on right now but maybe the first or second iteration of a Galaxy watch had a mail app when it was part of tizen... but ever since the Galaxy watch 4... there has been no email client on that device you can download... Microsoft's Outlook if I'm not mistaken can be downloaded and used as part of the Microsoft applications that came with the deal between Microsoft and Samsung ...but that's broken and doesn't work correctly on the watches since the os3 update... all the Galaxy watches do are push your emails from your phone's email client to your watch as a notification.
We also will not get an email application on the watch both Google and Samsung had already mentioned this it is a security issue which is also why we don't have a Facebook app which is also why we don't have a Facebook Messenger app the same reason why we don't have a Snapchat app we are not going to get any of these because of the awkward security measures that Google puts in place that are about one step under apples. Ever since the unified platforms and Partnerships those companion apps as they were called are no more.
The day that you ever see those again will be the day that Google brings back full lock screen customization like they did back in version Kit Kat... which they want and they got rid of because of the same reason security issues.
So I don't know where you're getting this idea about the mail app that's something that we lost with the newest watches about 2 years ago. Nothing running where OS has one my Mont Blanc Summit Smartwatch doesn't have it my fossil Gen 6 running the newest wear OS doesn't have my Movado connect two running wear os does not have one if I'm not mistaken probably Samsung was the only one that included a mail app Once Upon a Time.. unless we're talking about those third-party garbage watches that you can buy off of like Alibaba or something.
That's my bad, I guess I was thinking of the Tizen based watches
@Thao Huynh yes I don't know why that when Samsung merged with Google they did not bring that over there is no native Samsung App unfortunately and if you try to push one to it through ADB and doesn't work correctly nor does it sync correctly... I've been trying to play around with code and hack one for the community for quite some time now but there's something in Google's API that I just can't work out

I personally find the Pixel Watch an embarrassment and a slap in the face to smartwatch owners. Big bezels and small screens only happened in the Motorola 360 days. Ware OS is still laughable and such a battery hog. Google was too late to the game in the smartwatch world when it comes to hardware.

How do you tell an entire community that you're hoping you can ride on the fame of Fitbit, without letting them know that you're hoping you can ride on the same Fitbit..
Make a low end high cost round face apple clone smartwatch and also charge people a subscription base to use it on top of needing three separate apps to run it.
Way to go Sundar.... being the CEO of Google has really shown what you're capable of that graveyard is getting packed... and this watch looks like it's on its way to meet Dampy and meet its final resting place.
Not to sound like an asshole but 7 years ago that guy became the CEO of Google and over the last 7 years Google has not done so well.
Perhaps it's time for a leadership change.

Great content. It looks like your wearing a pebble on your wrist. Bezel is to large. Pay to much for to little. I'll take my watch4 44mm any day all day.
