    I love your channel. You are a great teacher. There are many smart people on RUclips that can't relay their message to an audience effectively. You, my friend, are skilled at this. I'm building my cabinet based on your design and also using the VirtuaPin Plunger and board. You may want to be cautious with using the plunger as another input button (by pressing on it) as you could see that the input (16) gets triggered when you let go of the plunger. I actually had a flicker on mine in normal play that caused a host of problems and I spent hours trying to establish what the problem was. Also, according to Mr Terry Red, you may want to ensure that your virus detection is disabled whenever installing any software and also, before starting the install, right click on the program and check the Unblock setting to ensure that the install works properly. This could be an issue of why a certain program may not function as expected. Sorry for the novel. Look forward to your next video.

      Thank you very much for your kind words Rolf, I really appreciate it! Yeah the plunger press button can't be the digital plunger or it will try to auto plunger after you pull and release the plunger and there will be a delay. I ended up just using mine for fire and in pinup popper, it's exit to exit menu. Yeah the virus disable and auto update has been disabled and now that I think of it, it would have been a good thing to make a video on or at least add it to one. Thanks for the watch and the support of the channel!

    I wonder if there is a way to get plunger sounds with an analog plunger directly mapped to VPX. Seems the only way the sounds can be triggered in VPX is to use the digital "Enter" key or button to trigger the sounds. I've tried using JoytoKey. It does trigger the sounds because you can tie a keyboard press, "Enter", to the joystick 2. However, using JoytoKey gives unrealistic plunger action. So it's hard to get skill shots that way. I do have an KL25Z board, but I use that for nudging only. Any Thoughts appreciated. ⚪

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  11 месяцев назад +1

      Are you talking about the sound of pulling/letting go of the plunger or the hitting the ball sound? My real plunger makes great real sounds for all of that so I've never even thought about it. I would just get a real plunger to make that noise. Cheers!

    • @Bluesky-bx2ig
      @Bluesky-bx2ig 11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, I'm talking about my AtGames Legends Pinball, first edition. It has a plunger. I'm not sure if you would call it real or not. I used to use JoytoKey with Pinball Emporium to play mainly VPX tables. With JoytoKey there is a way to "tie" a keystroke, "Enter" that would trigger the sounds built into the tables written for VPX. Example "PlaySound "PlungerPull" or "PlaySound Plunger" ect. Its written right into the script for all the tables of VPX. I was lucky to get a new, more powerful PC and loaded it up with PINUP POPPER. Much better, if not the best front end and I was having conflicts with JoytoKey and Pinup Popper, so I mapped all my cabinet buttons directly to VPX and Pinup Popper and quit using JoytoKey. Now the plunger acts like a real plunger, but does not trigger the sounds tied to the enter key. I went back and made a plunger only option in JoytoKey, but it is not accurate like the analog plunger is. So sorry for the obscure question, but I was just wondering if there was a way to get plunger sounds to trigger from the VPX table scripts with just the more accurate analog only plunger? ⚪

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  10 месяцев назад

      Yeah that's weird that vpx detects you pulling back the plunger but no plunger sound is made. I use a real one so it makes real plunger noises. Maybe take a look in vpx preferences under sounds and see if there is an option turned off. Good luck!

    Went to use the cab and found my buttons controlling popper were doing weird things, basically not working properly ar all.
    Exited rebooted windows tried games directly in VP and everything works fine, so I know my USB encoder is working fine.
    Went into popper settings, button config and it said I had a button conflict.
    Notice : Duplicate bindings found
    Duplicate keyboard binding function
    Exit emulators.
    I tried clearing all my saved keys which works, but the message remains, so all buttons are locked to Exit Emulators, so none of my buttons can control anything.
    I un-installed popper, restarted windows, did a clean popper install, error still there, disconnected USB Encoder, error still there.
    So I'm completely at a loss as to how to get rid of this error.

      For button conflicts, write down what buttons ( keyboard strokes) you use in vpx and in popper. For any duplicated ones, change them. A common one to duplicate is exit emulator and exit popper, they can't be the same orbit exits back to desktop after you leave any game. Hope that helps. Hello, I have a coin door button question. I followed your videos setting up my key mappings using xPadder, confirmed the button numbers in VirtuaPin Controller and have mapped them correctly in VPX. I am finding that when I open the coin door, I only get the coin door options on certain tables (Arabian Nights, Monster Bach to name a couple) and then I don't get it on others (Dracula, Whitewater, etc). Most forums discussions refer to the issue when no tables work, but it works for me on some, but not others. I can't even get it to work with the keyboard on those tables. Curious if you had the same issue and if you know a workaround? Thanks in advance! Also, I just read a post about AltSound, wondering if that is a future video idea for you? Keep on rocking the videos, they're super helpful.

      Some games I notice that you have to re close the coin door and try again, you could try that. Data East and Sega games need the other way of volume control which you have to cycle through the service menu...
      It sucks. Some games, the volume is controlled in the script or through the pup packs. If I remember, I'll try to see if my Whitewater and Dracula are weird to change for ya. I have added altsound to my list of future vpin videos to make. Thanks for the watch and the suggestion. Cheers!

      @@wayofthewrench Unfortunately, reopening and closing the coin door did not work on Dracula or Whitewater, nor any other tables I've been having this issue on. I swapped out my compact wireless keyboard for a full-size USB cord style and hitting "END" does not open the coin door through a keyboard either on those tables. I reviewed my button mappings and when the coin door is open, Button 15 lights up in the VirtuaPin Controller software. I also validated Button 15 is selected in the "Door (END)" field under VPX "Keys, Nudge and DOF" preferences. In xPadder that button does not have any keys assigned, do you have anything assigned in your setup? I don't believe you assigned anything in your video. If you got any other tips/tricks up your sleeve, I'm all ears, but this probably a question I'll have to throw out in the forums. Thanks for the follow-up!

I don't know why, but it seems that if I give power to the amplifier of the back exciters there's no problem, but if I turn on the second one of the front exciters, somehow, the kl25z board intercept a signal and turn crazy as I shown you. Do you think that the ground loop isolator can solve this problem or is it an excess of power supply? Thanks for your help❤

      Nice! You could try swapping amps and see if the problem travels to the back. If it does, the amp or wiring has an issue. If not then maybe you are getting some emf messing with your audio. The ground loop isolators are cheap insurance so go for it. You can also reroute power wires away from audio wires and see if that helps. Good luck!

    Crap. I got the plunger installed but the app doesnt see it. I see the red light on the mobo flash when I pull it back. Any ideas? im just using this for the plunger/tilt and have another board for my buttons. The tilt is being seen in the app but not the plunger. So frustrating.

      Hrmmm. Cause it's a usb device, you might try some things. Move it to another usb port or not usb 3. Try having it plugged in and restart pc to detect it and auto load driver needed. Try unplugging and re plugging it with pc on and watch for device to be detected. If all this fails, try to to reinstall the virtuapin controller software. Also check if app is supposed to be installed first or device is to be plugged in first then install the app. Good luck.

    One of the ways I was able to emulate better nudge with the same controller is changing the following line in the core.vbs file (you'll need to rechange this every time you update vpx to a new version thus, don't forget): from "Public Property Let Sensitivity(aSens) : mSensitivity = (10-aSens)+1 : End property" to "Public Property Let Sensitivity(aSens) : mSensitivity = 1 : End property"
    My nudge settings in vpx are as follows:
    XAxis 10 200%
    YAxis 13 300%
    Dead zone 0%
    Enable nudge filter = checked
    Enable analog nudge = checked
    Tilt sensitivity = 950
    In VirtualPin Settings for Nudge:
    Nudge Threshold = 2000
    Led Nudge Threshold = 2000
    Tilt Calibration Retry Count = 5
    Tilt Calibration Sample Factor = 5
    Tilt Running Sample Factor = 0
    Tilt Multiplier = 256
    Tilt Life = 10
    unchecked all three boxes

      Oh yeah this is golden! Thanks for sharing dude! How did it improve? What was the issue before the change?

      @@wayofthewrench It just never had a natural nudge like a real machine. These tweaks helped. They were collected by others having similar success.

    I could use your help, I'm having problems getting my buttons set up in the front end of popper, no one out there has gone line to line for explaining the use of each function. I can't seem to get a button set up to exit a game after I'm in it playing

      I want to thank you for responding, in the end I had to totally delete vpinballx and popper and reinstall baller, I still had some trouble but finally got it all straightened out, other than my loading videos aren't stretched out.
      Thanks again, and I appreciate your videos, you are clear and to the point, a real help to the virtual community
