I get so weirded out when I realise that babies born in 2000 are now, or soon to be, 17 D: I remember NYE 1999 so well, and all the unwarranted fears of the Y2K bug that would ruin all the computers :P I was 9.
To 9 year old Nathalia, The best couple of years of your life are coming, enjoy them! Please don't stress too much, some things don't matter as much as you think they do. Dear 35 year old Nathalia, What are you doing with your life? Did you get that history degree? Where do you live? Do you have a significant other? Is this person male or female? Do you have kids yet? Do you want kids? What's Jodie up to?
at the beginning and at the end of every year i write a letter for my future self and advice and things I've learned. It's so fun to look back on the years!
This was so cute! I used to writ letters to myself every year to open the following year. I'd write everything that happened in those 12 months and I loved opening them and just looking back. Even if it was just a year. So many things happen that you don't remember after a few months. What was relevant then doesn't mean is gonna matter in a year! This video reminded me that I need to get back to writing these!!
This was informative. Your honest laugh is amazing. I don't remember myself at 9. I mainly remember today, a bit of yesterday, and my future goals. Maybe it's time for me to slow down and remember my childhood. 25 years from now is difficult to picture. Hopefully I will be content with life and my journey. Also, have a better understanding of my story.
I write these types of things every year, for two years in the future. For example on my 20th birthday I wrote one to read on my 22nd, and so on. I love it.
i loved it! as a sophomore in high school i wrote to my senior self and it was amazing. i totally forget everything i wrote and when i reread it i was just in awe at some of the stuff i said.
I laughed so hard at the Madonna comment! There's a festival in my hometown where a band comes round to peoples houses and plays any song you request from them. Little 7 year old me had NO IDEA about music, but probably heard on the TV that Madonna was just a really cool singer. And damn sure I wasn't going to request a kids tv intro song this year - no, I was going to wish for a Grown-Up song. So I persuaded every one of my friends to tell the band to play Madonna for me. The band could have played any song - I wouldn't have noticed. But I felt so cool.
That was so adorable! 😋 I think it's pretty typical for kids to be focused on home and family, since that's what we experience so much of and feel most comfortable in at that age :)
My 16 year old self wrote to my 26 year old self as a high school assignment and I cried reading it. I said I wanted to be happy, which is a common theme in things I've written since I was small. I said I was fighting a lot with my mom, and I remember how she was up and down a lot trying to get the right mental health prescriptions and dosages and now she's come so far but when I was 26 she had just had a spiral and was suicidal after being declared clean of cancer (The cancer's returned now). Both my parents worked when I was 16, but between then and when I was 26 they lost their jobs, they filed for bankruptcy, the house was foreclosed on, they lived in Florida for 7 years, my dad had brain surgery, my mom got cancer, I started dating my now husband, moved in with him, got engaged, and I got married later that year.
I'm 15 and although it wasn't too long ago I would say to my 9 year old self.'Don't grow up too quick because it changes your views. And be proud of yourself for all of your achievements when you can because you lose you happiness and pride when you reach high school.'
I had an awesome book I got given when I did Brownie's that had a sleeve in the back to leave yourself a letter for ten years in the future, and I think I wrote a different one everytime my choice in the boy I liked changed, and then opened them all about one year later just to check if I still liked the same boy. My childhood was so interesting (y)
@@brittttany Unfortunately not, although I imagine 18 year old me would be rather discouraged to learn about how the entire world would go sideways during my third year
In 8th grade we wrote letters to our 18 year old selves and we get them when we're seniors (the school holds onto them) and I'm a sophomore but omg it's gonna be awesome!!!
I wrote a letter to my 18 year-old self when I was 11. I left it untouched for seven years and then opened it on my 18th birthday. It was so weird. I was about to start at my secondary school when I wrote it and was in my final year there when I read it. It's such a cool thing to do, and if I ever have kids I want to encourage them to do the same. I also wrote a letter from my 18 year-old self to my 25 year-old self, so I have that to look forward to in four years!
I wish I had done something like this! This is hilarious and so adorable. I love looking back and what I liked and did and thought about when I was younger.
Oh my god, I used to have this exact thing to fill in!! It was in this pink fluffy folder thing with loads of things to fill in. I really want to find it now!
I can't be the only maths nerd who got pythagoras-goosebumps from the idea that your 9 year old self wrote 16 years into the future to 25 year old you can I?
To 9-year-old me: -LOVE your brain! Don't be ashamed of it! -hand me downs are awesome come on -play outside as much as possible :) To myself 16 years in the future: -are you married? -did you change your major/career path? -where are you living? -do you have kids? -and most importantly, are you happy?
I think when I started high school, I went on a camp where we apparently wrote a letter to our future selves. We open & read it when we matriculate (graduate), specifically when we have our valedictory breakfast. I have no memory whatsoever of writing it and can't wait to see how my mind worked before high school changed me.
I would tell my 9 year old self that you don't have to please people all the time and that getting in 'trouble' isn't necessarily a 'bad' thing, that 'bad' people do! I would like to ask my nearly 39 year old self: -Have you got that dog Granger yet? -Did you make it to four kids and are you coping with motherhood well? -Have you made a positive global impact yet? -How is Gran doing at 112? So excited to see your show Hannah and meet you! #DoingItTour
Congrats on the boyfriend! I would tell my 9 year old self that she is beautiful and smart, and that she will soon find amazing people who love her and that life is worth living. Also tell her to end a few friendships.
You should do this same letter for your 41-year-old-self haha. Also I swear I had that exact same bit of paper when I was younger, but I have no clue where it is now. Seven-year-old me was not organised
I'm low key mad at my 9 year old self for not writing a letter to 26 year old me :(
Calum McSwiggan yeah, man, me too
Calum McSwiggan your self from the present could right a letter to your 50 yeard old self
Me too hahaha
High key, babe. High key.
Time to write one to my batsh*t crazy OAP self.
Maybe you did but you just don't remember :OO
9 year old Hannah is so Hufflepuff

My 9 year-old self would be saddened by the state of my life at the moment.
Honestly, same.
saaaame
Ahhh 2017
* starts frantically writing letter to my future self *
ikr
Don't sell yourself short, you always teach me about drama ;)
this was adorable.
This was cute. When you are a kid $100 seems like SO much.
Tbh for me £10 is like being a millionaire
Charles Stacy II not for me lol a lot was at least $10,000 cuz I would get like $200 or more for my birthday
then you learn about inflation and realise its only worth a tenner 16 years on 😂
Hannah Witton isn't a single pringle anymore. This makes me so excited for you!💕 Hope that we get to see him sometime soon ;)
Adam Adams I will, thanks for your precious advice.
Love this so much!! Also oooh a boyfriend, glad to see you happy :)
RIGHT!!!???
*_You inspired me to start RUclips and I'm only on 3086 but I'm loving making videos soooo much! Thanks hannah 😊❤❤_*
lol 30
I was born a year and a month before you wrote this... I'm 17. THINK ABOUT THAT, HANNAH.
Also, hope the boyf is treating you well. If he doesn't, then you have to tell us who he is so we can plot his mysterious disappearance ;)
I get so weirded out when I realise that babies born in 2000 are now, or soon to be, 17 D: I remember NYE 1999 so well, and all the unwarranted fears of the Y2K bug that would ruin all the computers :P I was 9.
shirinie999 I wasn't even an egg yet
i was only a few days old
cheeky bf announcement

I love this! I think you're making nine-year-old Hannah proud.
They're REAL, and they're FANTASTIC !!
so cute, I've been planning on doing something like this for a while for my future self, may just have to :)
I think we could get a 'future tag' going :P
Joe Binder that would be so mossy
This was so lovely!! Wish I'd written something like this when I was 9. Congrats on the boyfriend too! Wish you both the best xx

If I could send a message back to my 9 year old self, I would say, when the school work stops being easy, don't give up on it, knuckle down!
WOW 2001 was the year I was born ... :^)
:P so she already had plans while we weren't even born.
zmayer I was literally about to comment this 😂😂
oh god, i was just a little sperm in '01... maybe not even a sperm? how long do sperms live? I was born in '03 so probably not even a little sperm.
This is getting weird lul
It is so weird to realise people born in this century are autonomous beings who have accounts on the interwebs. Gosh, I'm old :')
The joy and laughter from
This video has made my day! ❤️
Ooohh boyfriend! Unrealistic me= heartbroken. Realistic me= happy for you! :'D
Andrew Harris Wow why would you even use stuff like Tinder anymore, just use the RUclips comments.
Andrew Harris Described my feelings to a T. At least we can still enjoy Hannah's content.
When you realise you love Hannah Witton...
That's adorable! Makes me want to dig up my old diaries from childhood! XOKK
LOVED the throw back to early noughties magazines!! Loved this video
I'm so obsessed with ur videos, ur actually such a brill person
This was amazing Hannah! Absolutely adorable.
at the beginning and at the end of every year i write a letter for my future self and advice and things I've learned. It's so fun to look back on the years!
DAMN!!! I am so jealous that you have the opportunity to do this and have the letter from your past self. Super cool
I would say... have fun and be happy and do what you believe in/think is right.
it's not something i would say, but i discovered a video of me aged 9, doing a beast job at winning the egg and spoon, which amused me.
couldn't.stop.WATCHING!!!

I love that you thought you would be 178 cm tall but only wear size 4 shoes :D
I was thinking "isn't that a bit heteronormative" like two seconds before you said it.
I just love the way that people with her accent say "Peter." ❤
This was informative. Your honest laugh is amazing.

I regret not doing this myself but I do have a 10 year old sister...I know what we'll be doing tomorrow 😂
Yes this was fun to watch Hannah! Thank you for sharing :)
Love this so much Hannah, hope you're having a fantastic pancake day! ❤️
My pancakes were lit
swimming and road safety! so cute
This is delightful!! Oh my gosh.
Omg I 100% remember doing that exact page! I wonder if my parents will ever find it!
That was so adorable! 😋 I think it's pretty typical for kids to be focused on home and family, since that's what we experience so much of and feel most comfortable in at that age :)
"Householdings" I frigging lost it. Loved this so much Hannah. Hope you're having a fab time in LA :)
So wish I'd done this when I was younger! so emotionally valuable

That was sooooo adorable! One of the best vids I've seen in ages :D
I wouldn't ask my 9 year old self anything because YOU DON'T MESS WITH TIME!
I had an awesome book I got given when I did Brownie's that had a sleeve in the back to leave yourself a letter for ten years in the future, and I think I wrote a different one everytime my choice in the boy I liked changed, and then opened them all about one year later just to check if I still liked the same boy. This was such a nice treat
I remember that I never ever wanted to learn to drive, because I would just ride my horse everywhere or take my horse-drawn carriage :-D
Yes!!!
This would be such a surreal sort of thing to read.... I had a similar thing when I got a letter from myself as a kid when I graduated High School.
I love the lion witch and the wardrobe book!!!
Oh how I wish I had done something like this when I was younger! This was awesome.
I have no idea what I would have written to myself, but I got a hunch that I would be way off!
This was such a joy to watch.
I'm considering writing a letter to myself before I go off to uni and opening it after I finish. See if I've delivered on my current ambitions
well?? did ya do it!? regardless, I hope wherever you are in this world that you're happy & healthy!
@@brittttany Unfortunately not, although I imagine 18 year old me would be rather discouraged to learn about how the entire world would go sideways during my third year

"You can't own your boyfriend Hanna"
that one made me laugh :)
I did the same thing 3 years ago on my 15th birthday, can't wait to open my letter when I'm 25 :D
This was so cute Hannah! I turned 25 a couple of weeks ago and the night of my birthday I wrote myself a letter to open when I turn 35
To 9-year-old me:
-LOVE your brain! Don't be ashamed of it!
-hand me downs are awesome come on
-play outside as much as possible :)
To myself 16 years in the future:
-are you married?
-did you change your major/career path?
-where are you living?
-do you have kids?
-and most importantly, are you happy?
i would love to have something like that from my 9 year-old self
Can I just say how great Hannah looks in this video
OH MY GOD I HAVE THAT TOO - I remember writing it and I've no idea where I've put it!!!! I'll have to have a look ahhh
Oh my god, you filled that thing out they day I was born
WHY DIDN'T I DO THIS WHEN I WAS 9
or maybe i did and I never remembered...
there's still hope

Definitely gonna get my little sister (she just got 10 years old) a letter like this to fill out for her future self
Aaaah I adored this too much, so precious hahaha
This was made two weeks before I was born! This is so funny, love you Hannah xx
I would tell my 9 year-old self to just keep doing what you love and stop being inhibited it'll make you're 19 year-old self a lot happier
This was AMAZING
I definitely had that exact teen book/magazine thing!! I wasn't dedicated enough to fill out the 'future self' page though, it seems..
after watching this i wrote myself a letter and sealed it up with some pictures :) now i cant wait to read it again
I had actually no idea you used to live in France, Hannah!! I'm French so bonjourrrrrrr
"groovy disco party" is the kind of life I want to lead
Also congrats on your relationship! 💞
This is the cutest thing ever! I wish I'd done something like that
love this ...also you look amazing in this!! 😊
9 year old hannah was so cute in her answers. funny how some of them are close on the mark.
Make another one for the next 15 years! You will appreciate it. ;)
So sweet, you need to write yourself another letter for your future self now! Really happy for you with the boyfriend (I had my suspicions 😉) x
I would tell my 9 year old self that you don't have to please people all the time and that getting in 'trouble' isn't necessarily a 'bad' thing, that 'bad' people do!
I would like to ask my nearly 39 year old self:
-Have you got that dog Granger yet?
-Did you make it to four kids and are you coping with motherhood well?
-Have you made a positive global impact yet?
-How is Gran doing at 112?
So excited to see your show Hannah and meet you! #DoingItTour
It was nice watching you enjoying it ;)
Why is younger self writing so amusing?! I've gone through some of my stuff when I was little and laughed hysterically just like you Hannah 😂
It was my 2nd bday when you wrote this, and I turned 18 the day you opened it, pretty damn cool!
You should totally do this again writing a letter to your 41 year old self!
Congrats on the boyfriend! I would tell my 9 year old self that she is beautiful and smart, and that she will soon find amazing people who love her and that life is worth living. Also tell her to end a few friendships.
sweet, very sweet Hannah. I like it a lot. I can feel your joy and happy from Hong Kong. Great and happy moment. Thanks to you, I can smile today.
This was so good!
You should do this same letter for your 41-year-old-self haha. Also I swear I had that exact same bit of paper when I was younger, but I have no clue where it is now. Seven-year-old me was not organised
Your that confident in your self...you would Own a Man!!!!!!
Love it. ❤️
