Pastor Bakare would be happy to be compared to or even called Awolowo. Yet, he appears to not be different from any ordinary Nigerian walking the streets and listening to and acting upon noise. A true leader sees beyond the noise. He ran with Buhari simply because he was ambitious and thought it was the best shot he had. Now backtracking and creating doubt about Buhari's xter and intentions is his way of bringing himself back to limelight. He's probably embittered that the administration didn't call him for advice, while he himself didn't make efforts to reach out to Buhari. It's easy to criticize, blame others for what we assume to see but pretend that none else exists except our truth. Now Buhari will be grateful to not have won the elections with pastor Bakare, else things would have been much worse for Nigeria and Buhari. True Nigeria, and any country, needs a proactive and very active leader at times like this, and always. But no leader, regardless of how proactive or articulate, fix a country that got continuously destroyed for fifty straight years within one term of 4 years, even if all the destructions and the destructive elements voluntarily stopped immediately the government is sworn in. Agreed that Buhari was aware of some or many of these problems before running for office, but that doesn't mean that the solutions will be quick, swift and instantaneous, especially if the problems keep coming, backed by powerful corrupt elements who have no other agenda than to continue holding the country hostage. Bottom line is that Buhari is 'failing' not necessarily because he's a bad person or confused but because Nigerians are not letting him succeed. No matter how strong a leader is, especially in a democracy like Nigeria, he cannot achieve any success if the people are against him. While Nigerians think it's okay to blame their democratically elected leader as a failure, the truth, I think, is that they're the greatest failure for electing a 'failure'. Anyway, 2019 is an opportunity for Nigerians to prove to the world that they're not failure by electing a leader that fulfill their aspirations in their chosen ways. Finally, the likes of pastors Tunde Bakare are simply playing to the gallery to help their ambition at the expense of the gullibles and, at total disregard for the consequences of their speeches and actions. I'll stay away from them. May God help Nigeria to make the right decision next time. Peace.
