      Would be awesome, those e foils are 10,000 dollars and a ripoff. I bet he built it under $2000 just put a lot of man hours into it.

    Hi Ben, absolutely gorgeous build. I'm gutted to see you haven't had chance to upload a riding video yet.
    Did you manage to pull together a parts list/ link to the models?
    I've built a couple ELongboards but I've never made a surf board or Foil board before

    What did you coat the polystyrene with? I have heard that Polystyrene and epoxy do not bond together very easily. Thanks!

      Hi Luke, I didn't have any trouble getting the epoxy to stick to the polystyrene. I used some Red devil onetime spackle filler to fill in any voids in the polystyrene and then gave it a sand and made sure it was as clean as possible before laying the fibre glass and epoxy. Cheers

    Hey Ben, really clean build! Which mast/foil did you use that had a hollow mast? Which motor/esc/battery did you use?

      Thanks Zachary, I used an A1 Carbon Fibre Mast/Foil which I got off Ali Express. I Used a 480kv sss56104 motor with a 6:1 planetary gearbox, a 130 amp water cooled hobbywing esc and 4 x 6s 11amp hour batteries running in a 12s configuration (22 amb hour 12s). Cheers

    Why did you use motor with gear box instead of using direct drive motor?

      Hi, I don't have much video yet sorry, I am planning on doing a riding video but haven't had the time lately. One of my Lipos has failed so I am also building a new Li ion 18650 pack for the E Foil.       He used autodesk fusion 360, i think there is a free non commercial license available for it. Else it is just 45$ per month

    i don't see a reason for the board itself to have any shaping at all, it could be just a box. looks good but all the effort should be in the wing instead

      Thanks :) I have put a link to the board fusion 360 file. I used the sketches of the plan and profile and printed at full size to cut out the polystyrene. I then shaped the rails to give them the rounded profile that I wanted. Hope this helps. a360.co/3eyW8TV Cheers

      the dimensions for the battery compartment fit completely?
      it remains only to understand how much to make the rounding on the sides :)

      @@akaZarj No worries. I have updated the battery compartment from that model I sent I think. I ended up making the compartment to fit the access hatch. I used this hatch www.burnsco.co.nz/access-hatch-596-x-348mm-large
      It does get the occasional bit of water getting in, not too much but I have made sure all my batteries and electronics are in separate boxes. Hope this helps :)

      Thanks, I was using 4x11ah 6s Lipos but one of them malfunctioned. I’m in the process of building an 18650 pack for it at the moment.

      Hi, thanks very much :) Sure, I use Esun carbon fibre nylon for the propulsion unit, Esun PLA+ for the Propellor and some of the hand control (black parts) and ICE PLA for the propellor duct and the hand control. Cheers

      Yavuz1773 I sanded the prints to get them as smooth as I could and then sprayed them with a polymer coating called Nyalic. You can buy it in a can. I’ve found it works really well with 3d prints. I tried my prototype on the water but haven’t had a chance with this one yet, hopefully very soon. I will make another video of riding

      Hi, I originally had a 22ah of LiPo packs running at 12s which would give about 15 minutes of ride time. One of my LiPos has now failed so I am in the process of building a 12s 10p lithium ion pack which should give close to 25 minutes of ride time. Cheers

    Everything is perfect besides having lipos. Please build your own 18650 battery pack. Lipos are so much more dangerous.
