You should go to the crane game center close to Sanrio.
Maybe, you saw that center when you walked in to directly the station!
There are lots of Sanrio character.

17:00 those benches are for people who play Pokémon go. It has a crazy concentration of pokestops and a gym that can all be accessed from that spot. You can see poke balls on some of the benches.

That’s definitely one of the aspects in Japan that is very foreign and uncomfortable for us to get used to. I’ve gotten better at waiting in lines for food as usually at the end the reward is worth it 😂

We tried so many claw machines in Tokyo when we were there in July. The big prizes are IMPOSSIBLE to get, but the small prizes are quite easy to get and so we end up winning a lot of the small prizes.

Yes, they can definitely be hard; we had some help here and there, but sometimes, letting the girls leave empty-handed teaches a valuable lesson, too.

Ah lines and money but we do anything to make our kids happy and smile don't we? I am not looking forward to the lines at Tokyo Disneyland later this year and I'm from the Uk where queuing is a National passtime 😂 But if it makes my girl happy then so be it. Great content as always guys.

Hello, I am enjoying watching your family's videos. By the way, the many benches are now Pokemon stations, but until 2016 they were highway bus terminals. Only benches were left after the bus terminal was relocated. I hope you all enjoy your trip😉✨

I mean paying extra money everytime for every ride and show aside from entrance money is how theme park originally operate. In case of Disney, I've read somewhere the entrance fee barely cover anything and 90% of it's operational cost came from business inside the park. This include hotel, restaurant, cafe, gift and souvenirs shop, food stall. It's the reason why a lot of food and gift is extremely expensive for what should be a cheap stuff, in fact food, drink and gift is commonly sold at 10 time of it's original cost in Disney park. In the same way 90% of Google and Facebook income actually came from online ads. In Disney case, their theme park operate like one big city than an actual theme park and their park "economy" in Florida is much greater than the actual state of Florida economy. It's why Disney is able to influence US congress and press and why the government of Florida is currently seem to be at odd with Disney despite they have a "friendly start". Other companies simply can't replicate this. This huge amount of crowds is why so many Japanese theme park were able to stand in the midst of slow economy and aging population in Japan, because they have a culture of having a picnic at theme park.

    • @adamandlinds
      @adamandlinds  11 месяцев назад +3

Wow, you really know your stuff! It's super interesting to think about the theme parks like mini cities. The mark up on food and gifts is definitely wild, but I guess it all contributes to the magic in its own way. Thanks for sharing this perspective!

Sorry your experience at the Puroland wasn’t great. Hope your birthday girl had a wonderful time regardless!
Theme parks tend to be quite busy in Japan anytime of the year. I would definitely avoid weekends and National holidays as well as the times students have school breaks (summer/spring/winter breaks), if it’s not for a specific occasion (like this time it was for your girl’s birthday). There are websites that estimate how busy it will be for most theme parks in Japan, though they might be available only in Japanese.
Most theme parks have the “fast pass” or “priority entrance” with extra fees. You should be able to go on rides or watch the shows just with “passports” you bought to enter the Puroland with few exceptions, but if the park is busy, you either have to wait for hours in line or buy those with-fee passes to skip the line. I’ve never been to the Puroland, but with my experience with Disney Resort and USJ, that was the case.
Sorry for the long comment. I truly enjoy your videos. Please do come back to Japan! :)
