    Great video. I think it depends on your preferred riding style. 80mm is great for strict urban environments, 110mm more for trails, while 90mm and 100mm are more versatile in between the two. 125mm are only good for long distance racing. Just my take.

      110s are great for distance and urban skating. It depends on your frame set up, but 3x110s are fast, maneuverable, and not too different from 100s in terms of weight and balance. You would need to have 4x110s or 3x125s for speed skating, depends on your frame and setup.

    I go 110 at all times because of my shitty streets that make gravel trails look smooth, had an 4 x 80mm setup for a while but it was honestly just to hard to get around my area for me to skate outside. I’m glad I have my 110s but most places don’t need that large wheels, if you don’t live in an urban wasteland you would want 80 to 100 mm wheels as they will put you a little lower to the ground and make it easier to learn skating ( if your learning still)

      If they are the same price, I’d get the 84 mm only because they will last a tiny bit longer. If the 84 mm cost more money though they aren’t worth it. The difference in ride is almost imperceptible, they’re definitely not easier to find, 80mm are everywhere. The only difference is as mentioned above. You have an extra 4 mm of material to wear off. It’s kinda hard to say but personally I like both 3x100 and 4x100 and keep a pair of both. They’re fast, the wheels last a long time and they cut down big time on vibrations. I prefer the 4x100 for long straight stretches that I can cruise along at high speed and I like the 3×100 for city stuff where it’s hilly there’s tight corners. I need to avoid obstacles. They’re still plenty fast but not quite as fast as the 4×100.
      I do still keep a pair of 82 a hardness 80 mm times four skates as well but I find myself using the 100 mm way more often. It’s just more fun. Hope that helps!!

      Race skates definitely take some getting used to. I couldn’t cope.
      Funny you mention that rocketed setup! Just bought a new pair and they had the option for two 90’s in the front and two 100’s in the back. I’m wasn’t brave enough to throw down $400 to try it out tho…

    110mm are the most popular among the groups that I skate with. They’re great for distance, give good speed and have enough maneuverability. 100mm are okay, I had them before I upgraded to 110 and there was barely any difference in weight and balance but I did feel a difference in speed so the bigger wheel seemed to be more beneficial. 80mm were horrible to skate with for longer distances, I would only recommend those if you do more aggressive skating or slalom. 90s I agree are a weird transition, you don’t get enough benefit from them. But honestly it really depends on the person, and it also depends on the frame/setup. I’ve been skating for a few years now with large groups, know a lot of professional speed skaters, have met slalom, aggressive, and urban skaters, and I think the general consensus is that 110s are the best (for urban and distance skating). However, this all depends on the skates you have. I’m not a huge fan of rollerblade and K2, and would definitely recommend looking into Powerslides. Also learning how to brake without having a brake on your skates makes a world of difference. Not sure what your circumstances are and if you have it for a specific reason, but having a brake affects your skating way more than any size wheel you may have.

    Does 100mm work on any rollerblades?

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  Год назад +1

      Great question! Not usually. Your skates will say the largest wheel diameter than will fit on them usually. The blade runners might not tho. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to try.
      For example I was able to fit 110mm wheels onto my macro blade 100 no problem…but they just barely fit.
