Stupid scammers posting the same scam on two of my comments on different videos. (just now, not referring to the first two replies to my comment, just incase the scammer comments get deleted after reports.)
The "lol xd gamer comics" era of the internet had a tonne of potential, and I'm glad to see a game utilize it's aesthetic in such a multifunctional and open way with the amount of content. I feel it prevents the common criticism that most epic cheeseburger era boardgames and videogames faced with being too repetitive and predictable.
I wouldnt call it potential. The amount of "funny" capable by reguritating a caption on an image of a cat, or by repeating the most popular tag line in video games like Ace Attorney, or Super Smash Bros: Brawl (as was the style at the time). Tomato even brings it up in this video, it was pretty cringe as children. Its likely why many young adults who werent bullied OUT of doing that, didnt become chronic stoners to try and combat their crippling depression and existential ambivalence, or didnt find a group of friends who took them out in public more often, have become anxious train wrecks in human skin who, at the slightest provocation, will break down completely. Tomato does a lot to sell the dated comedy, and the method of its delivery in Dreadmore as mostly randomly selected white noise of monster cries really works - as it makes the people who participate IN the "lol random xP" humor subhuman creatures that must be destroyed. _As they should be!_
So, at the outro section in the last few minutes I set the video to double speed, to appease the RUclips Algorithms while not being too focused on what's being said. Tomato already talks pretty fast, so it becomes near unintelligible sometimes, but I find it hilarious to have that rapid jumbled speech and then suddenly a perfectly clear, reasonably paced "at four pm!" It's just remarkable that it must have been said so close to half the speed I'd usually expect.
26:30 Plumbers actually hate intact stud walls. Need to get my 12mm through here, better get the hole saw out and make a 70mm hole in a 90mm stud ....chippies will sort it out
Oddly enough none of the other streamlined/modern rogulikes peaked my interest the way dredmor has. I did like going back and playing the classics like nethack tho
Don't know if this is a good recommendation, but you can check out TOME4, Elona plus, and Caves of Qud. TOME4 has a lot of cool skills and classes, and elona just has a bunch of cool mechanics. Caves of Qud has even more cool mechanics, but it's kinda boring, haha. Also, does anyone know roguelike games with cool magic systems? Or just with a lot of perks, classes, and abilities.
Well, if you want something more softcore and generally basic, all rogue-like elements and whatnot considered, there's Pixel Dungeon. Yes, it's a mobile game and they are the damnation of the smartphone market, but it is a more simple rogue-like that you can play and drop whenever you please. It's certainly a recommendation from me, albeit a mobile game. And get the Shattered version of Pixel Dungeon as this mod is the most polish and engaging variation of the original which lacks as much content and above all else, fun.
