RIP Dave. Not only was he a great musician, he was a great person. I met him and he was so gracious, funny and easy to talk to. I'll never forget that day and that memory will always be with me. This is why this is devastating news for me. All my condolences to his family and his close friends and bandmates.

seen this band a dozen times, Baz is by far the better frontman, Hugh was up his own...Baz is ust one of the lads, i agree there's no need for the knob sucking line, they dont need to shock anymore as they are brilliant enough..

Il était guitariste dans plusieurs groupes amateurs ou professionnels et migre progressivement vers les claviers. Par la suite il intègre le groupe The Stranglers en 1975. Dave Greenfield avait des doigts en or le clavier n'avait pas de secret pour lui jouant sur scène avec pas moins de quatre synthés dont trois de la marque Yamaha. On leur doit le très célèbre et irrésistible « Always The Sun » parmi tant d'autres. A ce jour le groupe compte 17 albums depuis 1977, le dernier GIANTS date de 2012. Yes. Sadly Hugh plays to very few people now & it seems most of them want to hear Stranglers stuff? Last seen him at Bath Xmas lights opening & very few people seemed to know who he was. Most of crowd thought him a talented semi professional? I did like a few of his solo songs & I loved the mariachi version of Golden Brown. Bad is fantastic. He's put his own spin to TMIB. If people don't like, as you say, sit home listening to your vinyl!

And a decent song writer, the last 3 albums had a few good tracks, I like Baz,, But Hugh Cornwell Is The Fucking Stranglers!!!!!!! Hugh Cornwell is The Stranglers, he made the Stranglers what they were. I’ll always support the band and I’ll always Go to the gigs, but you can never forgot who the main Strangler is......And That’s Hugh Cornwell.

Its too bad Hugh couldnt have been there singing. The instruments and backgrounds vocals were great, but the voice of Hugh is needed.
Baz can’t sing. Period. You’d think Hughs replacement could at least hold a note. What was it about this guy that impressed them ??
