    I’m enjoying the series on Trenny. Laura has put in a great deal of research, and it certainly shows in her extensive knowledge of the case. I have some thoughts about a couple of aspects. I highly doubt the principal would have affirmed Bowman’s presence at school for the entire day if he only had confirmation of him being in homeroom. Based on reports, Bowman was a known troublemaker at school, and one of a few black kids in the school at that time, so he would have easily stuck out to the principal and teachers. For such a serious matter, the principal probably verified his attendance with each of his teachers and/or may have even seen him periodically throughout the day. Simpson had Trenny’s comb, and another student had her jewelry. Both should be questioned intensely by authorities, particularly the female student who had the jewelry. Following the jewelry trail could bust this case wide open.

      You’ve raised some good points about Kelvin Bowman, but it being a Friday that this whole thing happened, I have my suspicions as to why and how Kelvin may have been able to leave the school and not be accounted for. You’ve heard me speak about attendance being poorly taken and recorded. Let’s just say that there was an excellent possibility that some of the staff in higher office at Bearden, may have been more than a bit distracted just before the weekend.

      @@laurariste9775 I agree about the comb and jewelry. How would Individuals have such intimate items and it not be followed up on? Even more, why would classmates want to harm Trenny. She sounds like a regular kid. I'm not seeing a trigger point? Seems she was victimized on 2 occasions. Why was she marked as a victim? Its a compelling question. Thanks for all your research.

      @@rb4382 Don’t I know it! For the most part, a regular kid. But I believe something happened in her life a year prior to kick off or trigger all of this, both the break- in by a student and her disappearance. Going back to 1975/1976 and fitting the pieces is the key. It’s been said that you can’t move forward by looking backward. But unless you make peace with the past and tie up any loose ends, how can you have a peaceful present/future?

    • @rb4382
      @rb4382 3 года назад +4

      @@laurariste9775 An interesting observation. There very well may be a precipitating event. Some offense whether real or perceived? The break-in and later disappearance (kidnapping/assault/murder) cannot be coincidencea. The break in sounds as if it was sexually motivated. After the disappearance 2 individuals have her personal belongings and don't seem to be ashamed to possess them. Trophies? Of what? Who would want to harm (punish) Trenny? What was their motive? Revenge? For what. I think if u identify the motive u can identify the person responsible.

    I wish you guys could take a look into the 1974 disappearance of the Fort Worth three. On Dec 23, 1974, three girls aged 17, 14, and 9 went to the mall to go Christmas shopping and never made it back home. Literally there has been no leads and nothing found in almost 46 years!! The family is literally dying for answers. Look up the wikipedia article I wrote on the case under "Fort Worth Missing Trio".

      I’ve heard of this case from long ago, a friend of mine, Robin Warder, devoted an episode on it on his podcast “The Trail Went Cold”. Somebody that either the girls kind of knew, or perhaps someone in authority like a security guard ( or dressed as one) would have been the most likely candidates to lure the girls away. Or someone who made them think that something was wrong with their car. The letter that Rachel’s husband received is a total hoax.

    I’ve been thinking about the jewellery and wondering why she had to remove her necklace in the wash room? Maybe the other girls saw this as boasting, taking off all her jewellery and asking another girl to take care of it just while she washed her hands could have been seen as Trenny making sure everyone saw/admired her jewellery (not victim blaming just trying to see it from their view). Has it been mentioned if the first girl gave it straight back after Trenny had finished in the washroom? Did Trenny just leave it with her for the rest of the hike and if so why? Maybe then that girl gave it to Simpson when she knew Trenny was missing. If she lent out her jewellery then maybe she lent out the comb too

    • @laurariste9775
      @laurariste9775 4 года назад +4

      The thing about Trenny was that it would be extremely unlikely for her to take off her jewelry anyplace but at home. Even for hand washing. Her jewelry was semi-valuable and Trenny was particular about her things. One person that went to church with Trenny and her family, told me about how the young girls at church would try on each other’s jewelry, clothing, etc. Trenny would not participate in this. Her stuff was her stuff, and that was it. She was also fussy about her comb. I understand her behaviour because I was that way about my things, too, when I was her age.

    Oh yes there were doctors in Tennessee that did ab*rtions then. I think in Chattanooga possibly. That's where they took her, maybe.
    I was a teenager during this time period, everything points in one direction: it sounds like she got pregnant by the young black friend. Ab*rtions happened, believe that. They used this trip as a cover.
    I once knew of a young girl in this very situation, during that time, at the same age. Her ab*rtion was done in Tennessee..fact. This place was known of by her cousin that was a little older, he took her to get it. They told her they could do it only up to 3 months along, she lied to them, she was further along but desperately wanted the ab*rtion. When they began she began bleeding heavily, and they realized she was much further along, but didn't stop the procedure. The doctor and nurse haggled over whether to call an ambulance, but didn't. She was sent home in very bad condition, she nearly died.
    It's a strange feeling seeing how much their stories are alike. Very sad.

    But if Trenny had looked off the trail and saw Kelven Bowman, she would have took off and ran on down the trail for her life. Its possible that she saw somebody she thought she could trust, as in maybe that person called out to Trenny and acted like they needed help, and when Trenny got down there to her, the person ended up leading her to where Kelvin was waiting. Trenny was lured into a trap.
