This is exactly what I was looking for, a gasometer well with the water still filled. Apart from that it's wanton destruction. I mean, they're our past too...

Gas and water do not mix so water not polluted by gas. The water just evaporated.

I am watching the same process at the moment. Shame, they are a marvel of (Victorian?) engineering.
